Service date listed on invoice is 3/12/24, invoice is dated 4/15/24. Schindler was contacted to come out to fix out kitchen dumb waiter elevator. We were told it would be $500 to come out to take a look at the item. One repairman, Matthew, came out and wasn't able to do anything. He told us that someone else could come out and fix it. The second repairman came out and together they still were not able to do anything. We received a bill for $3592.84, nothing was fixed, and no materials were used. Our General Manager (GM) has called and spoken with Mike and Jeffery and was told that their home office bills things weird and that he would get this adjusted. What a great scam, tell people you charge $500 to come out and look at something, don't do anything, and then charge $3600! In addition, the invoice has a $59.99 invoice fee, which says if you would like to have this fee waived you can contact your Sales Rep to get digital billing. No one answers the phone at the number listed, so I left voicemails for 3 people on the day this invoice was received, with no response from any of them, and we are still getting bills by mail that have not been adjusted.

we have had problems with not getting the right support of service from them in the past. Again we renewed our service contract on November and they have done basally no routine maintenance but did come and do our yearly maintenance for our state inspection which they said was good. But we did not pass our state inspection for major safety concerns and they have still yet to fix or even make a effort to come and check the problem for themselves but instead can send us a bill for a failed safety inspection. We do pay them a hefty fee every year apparently for nothing and I believe instead of getting the runaround over something as huge and safety wise we should be a bigger priority.

We have had a service contract with Schindler Elevator for monthly maintenance on our elevator that services our 5-story building since 10/31/19. In 2022, Schindler was unable to keep up with the monthly visits, so we signed a new contract on 4/1/23 for a lower rate and 6 visits per year, however they continued to bill us at the old rate, still did not show up, and would not lower the bill. Before we signed that new contract, our elevator broke down on 3/18/23. Initially we were thankful that even though we had a billing issue, Schindler was available to work on the elevator. The reason I say initially is because it has now been over 1 year as of writing this and the elevator is STILL NOT WORKING. Starting from 3/19/23, it took 6 weeks to make the needed parts. During that time Schindler knew a full inspection was due on the elevator and they began to prepare for it. 5/1/23 the elevator was fixed. 5/8/23 Schindler technicians checked everything and guaranteed it would pass inspection. 5/30/23 The inspectors failed our elevator due to issues Schindler completely missed during their inspection. It took 40 days to fix it then it passed on 7/10/23. We received fraudulent charges in excess of $25,000. We asked for itemized breakdowns, which we only partially received and incorrect. On 12/1/23 the elevator failed due to Schindler setting the elevator speed incorrectly. It took until 1/11/24 to get it working, only for it to fail AGAIN on 2/15/24 for the same issue. As I write this, 4/15/24, Schindler has completely ignored all requests for repair and continues to send us incorrect bills. The bottom line is that we signed a contract with Schindler and paid them over $14000 since 2019. In return they have caused us significant amounts of stress, countless days of lost productivity, and essentially stranded the 3 people in the building with disabilities that relied on that elevator to live. Two of which live in the apartment on the top floor and have to climb 75 steps now.

Our facility is a 55 plus community with residents on 2nd and 3rd floor that have trouble walking up and down stairs or cannot at all. Our elevators have been turned off for a week now, the man that came turned it off due to our freezing weather and power surges, but never came back to turn it back on. When we called to check on it, it hasn't even been placed on the schedule!!

This company, Schindler, allowed our elevator to get behind on service because of them being short staffed causing our needs to be neglected. Once they came to inspect they realized that we were way over due for elevator belts and shut our elevator down for safety. We have been waiting on elevator belts from Schindler for 60 days. We now have handicapped people trapped in their 4th floor apartments and the company will not give us an ETA of when these belts will be in and be able to be installed.

First and most importantly, we sincerely appreciate the opportunity to serve the vertical transportation needs of Uptown-************, **.

We understand the hardships that are created when the only elevator in a multi-story building is out of service. As the facts will confirm, we were not negligent. This repair was truly beyond our reasonable control. We ordered the parts and completed the repair in a safe and efficient manner. Once the STM's were replaced, we completed our internal safety testing and returned this elevator to service.

As the ******************* of ******Elevator *************** will confirm, this elevator has performed very well and is in service without a single violation. In addition, Uptown-************ also hires a 3rd party Qualified Elevator ****************** to review the work we are performing. As far as I know, the 3rd party QEI inspector has never provided any type of negative feedback to the professional level of service that we have and will continue to provide.

Please remember, this elevator has made well over 1 million trips. With that type of usage, major repairs will be required from time. That doesn't mean we have been neglectful; it just means certain things are inevitable.

We appreciate our customer, and we will continue to work very hard to exceed their expectations in all that we do.

I would have responded much sooner; however, I just received this notification today.

I am rejecting this response because:

Hello, I appreciate the response that you have provided. However, I find it to be 100% untrue. Whenever the elevator went down back in September  the 1st time we were told that belts would be ordered and they would be replaced whenever they get here, thats great. However, that is not what happened. Upon the incident in November, I was informed by our account representative , *********************,  that they had indeed had the belts the whole time they just didnt have the manpower so your claim that there was no negligence is false. We also have been waiting on a pressure test for elevator for months and until I put in a complaint with the BBB no one had showed up to do that. They recently came to the property to complete this but mind you it was due last April , this is unacceptable. We have received two invoices in total $6000 for them doing what? They did nothing nothing was done no work was done they came here they said we couldnt do anything and they laughed and thats worth $6000? Please help me understand that , I have tried to give you a call and you are yet to answer so I will be awaiting that. My phone number is ************ and Im expecting a call back. Oh and Merry Christmas

      Warmest Holiday Regards,

      *************************

I filed a complaint with this company as they provide support for the moving walkway at *** airport. They put black tape on the railing and black goo oozed out onto my and my wifes hands and onto her expensive raincoat. This happened in August 2023. I asked for $100 compensation for the raincoat and for an hour of our inconvenience. I have called a number of times and they have not returned my calls. They are shameful and need to clean up the mess at the airport as well. Much appreciated.

This has been going on for the last year and a half. This company comes out to my apartment building to try and fix the elevator, and never can figure out what the issue is. The elevator has been broke down for the last five weeks and this is just ridiculous for the amount of rent we pay in this building for an elevator to be broke down. My husband has gotten stuck in the elevator and had to call the fire department.
