Claim number ******** Purchased over **** sq feet of Mannington Restoration laminate with SpillSchield technology on 12/11/2020. Mannington did a "special run" due to the large order to ensure consistency. The floor arrived and was installed as per the directions by a licensed flooring contractor in March of 2021. Shortly there after we started noticing that the edges of many boards were lifting. We contacted the supplier, who worked with Mannington to identify a cause. Mannington contracted with a flooring expert to evaluated the issue. The expert concluded the floors were installed properly and the lifting edges were most likely caused by topical moisture and noted the floor showed no sign of neglect by the owners (us). To quote the report "the product does not appear to be preforming as specified by the manufacture regarding minor topical moisture."We were contacted by Mannington and were offered a goodwill replacement cost of $500.00 which we rejected. After multiple conversations Mannington and begin given the run around, they have simply just stopped returning phone calls. (per Mannington the resolutions is "still with management"}After months of frustration due to the lack of communication, (We have a list of every phone contact we made, complete with the date/time, length of call , who we spoke to, and their agreed upon response time line) We contacted a licensed installer who stated the floor is unrepairable due the sheer number of compromised boards. We are still awaiting a response from Mannington.Initial Complaint

We installed Mannington Adura vinyl plank flooring in our home 8 years ago. Over past year we noticed that the planks have large gaps forming which are large enough to catch socks while walking. Our installer inspected our planks against planks that we had in storage and determined that the planks on our floor had shrunk. Our installer filed a claim with Mannington and sent samples in for testing of extra planks we had stored in our basement. Mannington has responded that the material meets specifications with no defects found. They have denied our claim based on their internal testing the results of which they refuse to share. It appears that Mannington will not stand behind their products and uses the excuse of internal testing and claiming that the tests showed no defects in the product. They then try to blame the consumer for the issue. I will no longer consider Mannington products for use in my ************* that others see this prior to deciding to purchase a Mannington product.Business Response

Mannington Claim # ********
Installed 5-26-2016.
They filed a claim on 12-4-2023.
192 **
Pattern AW551
We received photos and samples.
The samples were tested we follow the **** Standard flooring guidelines for the Adura Product
They passed meting the specifications.
Looking at the photos the gapping they are experience is not typical of a material related issue.
The claim was declined.
In reviewing this claim we support this conclusion, and this is not related to the manufacturing of this product.

I am rejecting this response because:Company has refused to provide the details associated with their testing. I do not understand how the product could pass ASTM testing but still shrink unless the testing does not specifically address this defect. I have no way of knowing because the company is not sharing the details of the testing process.

October 2022, claim filed **** sq ft of Bengal Bay engineered hardwood installed by contractor Salesman indicated that this is used by commercial customers so should hold up to residential use Claim was initiated just after installation: October 2022 due to signs of distress on the flooring The claim was initiated prior to the reason for denial of claim for 'scratches which are not covered under the warranty' of a commercial product Scratch resistant finish does not stand up to 2 small cats which did not enter home until January 2023 Warranty denied since it does not cover scratches--the scratches show that no stain exists beneath the uppermost layer.Other wear and tear was also not covered even though these floors are used commercially Issues exist in entire house where this product was installed including the Breakfast Nook; Closets; Dining Room; Family Room; Foyer; Hallway; Kitchen; Living Room; Bedroom Claim was denied a month after inspection. Inspector indicated that Mannington is concerned that its commercial sales would suffer if there was an issue with the flooring We are senior citizens and do not wear shoes inside the home. Our policy for visitors is that shoes are not worn inside our home.Initial Complaint

The flooring that was installed by Mannington immediately started buckling and stripping away from the floor. The floor was installed in 2020, we have been working with both our contractor, and a Mannington company, to get this resolved. It was coming apart and developed holes. It became dangerous to walk barefoot in our own house because small splinters would dig into our feet, we actually had to replace the floor before it was 18 months old.. Our contractor paid for an independent analysis of the flooring, and it was proved to be defective. Finally Mannington sent out a representative and they said it was just normal wear and tear. I dont know how they would know since the defective floor had already been replaced. They ignored the independent report and denied the claim..Do not buy floors from this company. They do not honor their warranties. They are not truthful with their customers. Save yourself, lots of heartache and grief and do not buy anything from Mannington.Initial Complaint

RE: Mannington Claim ******** We installed Mannington Adura vinyl plank flooring in our home 4 years ago. Over the years every plank has been shrinking, resulting in large gaps forming, the majority of which are now wider than a toonie. We filed a claim with Mannington and sent samples in for testing of extra planks we had stored in our basement. Mannington has responded that the material meets specifications with no defects found. They have denied our claim based on thickness of the subfloor without providing an explanation to how the subfloor thickness is causing their product to wear out and shrink. An inspector came to our home and confirmed the planks are shrinking throughout the home and not simply expanding and contracting as the gapping is getting worse over time. We want to warn others about the poor integrity of this product and the lack of accountability the company is taking to resolve the quality issues we are experiencing. I have tried emailing Mannington to request contact information for the Ombudsperson or ********************* and no one responded.Initial Complaint

The flooring that was installed is faulty. They are buckling, staining, and showing scratch marks. This is everything they said it would not do. We have been dealing with them for the past year and finally they told us no because we aren't the original owners. However, we are covered with the new home buyers warranty - the home is brand new. They do not back their guarantee and have had so many of these issues. I want the product to be backed and support what they advertise.Initial Complaint

my customer has received a brand new floor that seems to have several small chips in it. i called Mannington to let them know about the issue. we sent in four planks that were not installed one even had a factory direct uninstalled plank with a chip in it. they completely denied the claim and will not return calls to even discus why a brand new floor that has a lifetime warranty would do such a thing.Business Response

In response to the dispute, the claim did not identify who the consumer was. Upon investigating the complaint further, we were able to identify this concern is related to the claim for **********************
Mannington did receive samples for analysis and was able to confirm the material meets specifications with no defects found. Review of the information received shows localized gouges. While the material is durable, it can be damaged by dropped objects or aggressive installation practices. We have found nothing wrong with the material itself or any warranted issues; therefore, we stand behind our determination and we are unable to make any adjustments on this claim.
Thank you.
