This customer had an unlicensed contractor/plumber build a bathroom in his basement. The build was done incorrectly as the shower walls were out of plumb, and the shower base was unleveled; nothing was square. We are certified Dreamline installers and explained that we cannot install a glass door/enclosure he purchased on his existing improper conditions; although we explained this would lead to a failed installation, which we would not do, he still wanted us to install the glass door/enclosure; we provided him with several options to resolve his issues, for which he rejected all options recommended in order to move forward with the installation. He then requested that we install the old door he had already previously removed which was in his garage in pieces, we explained we cannot make ourselves responsible to install a previous door that firstly, we did not remove ourselves, and secondly, which had visible damage conditions that would also not allow for a successful installation. That said, we offered him a reasonable refund, regardless of the fact that no refund was due to him as per the Work Order he signed; he then proceeded to submit a fraudulent chargeback after services were rendered according to his agreement. We do not take chargeback fraud lightly; we reserve the right to report the incident for inclusion in Chargeback abuser database(s) of our choosing and in our sole discretion and also have the right to proceed with legal avenues to collect what is owed to us. According to the agreement he signed, we have are to proceed with Arbitration, whereas all information previously requested from him, for which he also refused to provide in order to resolve his issue, would then be requested (i.e. permits, etc. among other information), and he was also aware that other fees would apply, OR we may just count this as a charity case, as moving forward with any legalities/arbitration, etc. would be more of a waste of our time and our resources, as at this point for $350.00, it is more a matter of principle.
