An initial demand letter was sent to the consumer on October 12, 2023, and suit was filed on December 4, 2023. There has been no communication from the consumer. I recieved a notice and saying I owe money to them. When I called they had no idea that I owed anything to them and it's not on my credit report. They wanted mw to pay them a monthly fee . Never had any correspondence or call from them and had no idea what this is about . Never had a loan from them either. This needs removedBusiness response

I am not liable for this debt with Velocity Investments, LLC. I do not have a contract with Velocity Investments, LLC. I was notified of a lawsuit being filed against me with court papers for a debt that I do not owe to Velocity Investments LLC. There is no contract stating that I ever signed any documentation through Velocity Investments.Business response

I am writing to dispute and request the immediate deletion of an account listed on my credit report, which is being reported by VELOCITY INVESTMENT, LLC a collection agency not licensed to operate in **,***According to my recent credit report, there is an account in collections listed under the name of VELOCITY INVESTMENT, LLC The account details are as follows:VELOCITY INVESTMENT, LLC Account Number: ********* I have conducted research and discovered that VELOCITY INVESTMENT, LLC is not licensed to operate as a collection agency in **,**. Therefore, any collection activities conducted by VELOCITY INVESTMENT, LLC within the state are unlawful and unenforceable.I request that you immediately remove the account listed on my credit report, as it is being reported by a collection agency that is not licensed to operate in **,**. On 6/10/24 I was served a complaint declaring I was being sued by Velocity Investments. The complaint stated that they made attempts to contact prior to this, but I never received those documents. I further have attempted to contact them twice at the phone number on their website but have been sent both times to the voicemail of someone named *************************, instead of speaking to a person or being sent to a general voicemail. Since I have never spoken to these people before, I do not know who ************************* is, or if she is the right person to speak to about this supposed debt. There is no indication on her voicemail that she is the right person or even works for this suspicious company. I would like a formal call from this "*****" person to confirm she is the correct person, and to discuss options and proof regarding this claim.Business response

The consumer is referencing the voicemail of an employee of Velocity but Velocity has not received any voicemails from this consumer. Velocity has had no contact with the consumer. Better Business Bureau:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution is satisfactory - BUT not due to the business response, however. I left 4 voicemails for this business at their number listed on the website, all went to ***************************** voicemail. 6/12 at 7:31a CST, 6/13 at 8:12a CST, 6/17 at 1:37p CST, and finally 6/20 at 1:17 CST. I received a voicemail from someone on 6/18 giving only the toll free number right before closing time (before a holiday) - but there was still no answer from customer service or anyone when I called back today to return it.I called the law firm and actually got some real help, but I'd warn anyone looking at this company that it is super sketchy and they never answer their phones (their email form on their website doesn't work either, kept returning an error when I tried to use it). It's almost as if they are purposely trying to avoid a resolution so they can just file suits. If they do file a suit or attempt to, just call the law firm and get help instead of trying to resolve it with these people.

The only correspondence I've had about this company is from upstart saying account was purchased by them. Upon looking up information about my divorce proceedings I've realized that they have sued with a judgment. I had no information from them and had no idea that there was even a court case. I have not been to my former residence or recieved and correspondence about the matter.Business response
