I recently purchased a used vehicle from Stratum Auto Group. On my ride home with the vehicle, the check engine light came on. I took it to my mechanic to look the truck over. After getting the vehicle checked out i found out that it had two bad catalytic converters, and would NOT pass inspection. I was told by ****, the manager, he would check it out. The owner *************************** said he would fix the problem. After dropping my vehicle off, it sat for four ways while i was told it was going to be worked on. After speaking to the owner, *******, I was told the car is in the bay as we speak getting worked on. Upon arriving to pick up the vehicle, and asking for receipts for all work performed on my vehicle. I am then told, NO work was done on the vehicle. At this point, i want a refund.

Hello, *************** to the complaint filed by our customer *************************** which was submitted on 2/9/2023. On January 28th, 2023, customer *************************** purchased a 2007 GMC Yukon XL **** Denali from Stratum Auto Group. When the customer arrived to our dealership and was interested in purchasing the vehicle with a listed price of $7,000 our General Manager and salesman went over the car with him and explained that we recently took delivery of this vehicle and that it has not yet been cleaned or serviced. With no rebuttal, *************************** still wanted to make the purchase and proceed with buying the vehicle. Due to the respect of not being serviced yet, our general manager decided to assist *************** by taking $1,000 off of the listed price bringing the adjusted new price to $6,000 for the vehicle. *************************** proceeded and purchased the vehicle. As part of our contract with the customer in which was left out of his complaint, we have and are able to provide documentation in which *************** and Stratum Auto Group both have copies of, *************************** signing the binding contract, the buyers guide As-Is - no dealer warranty which states the dealer does not provide warranty for any repairs after sale. *************************** signing a buyers order stating the vehicle is being purchased as is expressly warranted or guaranteed with all faults, his acknowledgement of the receipt of the Buyers Guide at the closing sale with a full list of potential major defects that *** occur in used vehicles. *************************** also signed a We Owe form, stating that we as the dealer do not owe *************************** any repairs or servicing to the vehicle after purchase. Also, the vehicle that *************************** purchased, according to what is not covered by the law is more than seven model years old, has an odometer reading more than ******* (******* at time of purchase), and was sold "As Is). Relaying back to the complaint filed by ***************, he states that the check engine light came on on his way from leaving the dealership, but we did not receive a call for this matter until 4-5 days later. When *************************** initially called, he spoke with the General Manager in which he was erratic, cursing and saying the "f" word multiple times and when our general manager tried to come to an agreement *************** stated that he wanted it his way in which was to fix what he thinks is the problem and hung up the phone before coming to an agreement. A few days later he called again in which I spoke with ***************, and being that Stratum Auto Group has only been open for not even one full month at the time, I wanted to come to an agreement and see what we could do to help *************** in this matter. On the phone, as *************** continued being erratic and raising his voice I told him that he can bring the vehicle back and ************ will properly diagnose what the problem is and how we can fix it. *************** agreed and brought the vehicle back. *************************** stated that he needed two catalytic converters and a few other parts in which my mechanic inspected the vehicle and that was not the culprit to his check engine light being on. I went ahead and purchased all of the necessary parts from Auto Zone in which totaled hundreds of dollars in which I have an invoice for evidence, and had my mechanic start working on his vehicle. When *************** called for an update I told him what the solution was for him to have the check engine light off and pass inspection in which *************** turned around and started yelling and cursing at me saying " that's not what the **** I said I wanted". I proceeded to tell *************** that we have the solution for the check engine light being on, so if it gets fixed what is the main problem that he is having. I am not sure exactly why *************** only wanted catalytic converters, but that was not the source of the problem. *************************** tried to take advantage of my kindness in wanting to help him out and was so disrespectful on the phone cursing and being irate, that we decided it is not fair to us and to abide by our contract with ***************. *************************** came by the following day to pick his vehicle up and brought another gentlemen with him, as we stated to him in person that we wanted to help him out but his deliberate disrespect showed otherwise. We can provide copies of our contract with *************************** in which he posses copies as well, copies of invoices, and receipts, to whomever it *** concern. Thank you for your time and deciding a resolution to this complaint.
