This bad experience started with these people at East coast Toyota who put me through a complete nightmare... I went hoping to put my name on the car I bought with my brother, a 2021 RAV4. The process was handled by Rafael O****, the same person who sold me the car in 2021. He talked to me about some prices and percentages that I would start paying and got me a down payment of $2500, then when he was talking to the financier Jimmy S********* he started talking about Netflix shows and other things. He continues with his deception and gets me to sign without showing me the value, without telling me or explaining all the insurance, extras and charges… at that moment I told him that I disagree their terms, he told me not to worry and I said that I will be called soon. Two weeks passed, I came back because they never contacted me, Rafi a menagerie that was “trying to help” met me there, but he didn't do anything or say much... then I started communicating with Juan H******, a super pedantic and rude person who always made me feel guilty and blamed me about the situation they created, at first he told me that the $2500 I gave him were gone (like that money never existed) and that he couldn't tear apart the contract that they forced me to sign by deception and withholding information, I just wanted to no longer deal with them and never see them again in my life... they finally forced me to pay $5010 to release a contract that I had not even started to pay for. I lost another 2,500 due to a deal that fell through, and was left without a car and possibly with a damage in my credit score. DON'T BE FOOLED, these people don't care leaving you sleeping on the street, don't let them do what they want.Business Response

Our customer relations manager is working on putting Mr, Alfaro into the original vehicle of interest (his brother's lease) without additional options being added to the transaction. If that particular vehicle is not possible, we will work on a vehicle that meets his needs and budget.Initial Complaint

I went to dealership on September 18, 2023 to purchase a vehicle and choose a Corolla Cross which they did not have in stock. The salesperson, ***********************, spoke with me and I explained which model I was looking for. Thereafter, he spoke with his manager. ************** told me they could obtain the vehicle I was looking for, however, it would not arrive until mid October 2023. ************** told me that they had to locate the car. He asked me to leave a deposit and I offered a hundred dollars, he said they would need at least $500. I told him that all I had was the hundred dollars and he accepted it and provided a receipt. On Tuesday, September 19, 2023 I text ************** regarding the status of the vehicle and he replied that his manager was off and would contact me the next day. The next day, Wednesday September 20, 2023 ************** never contacted me. Circumstances changed and I was no longer interested in the Corolla Cross. I text ************** on Thursday September 21, ******************************************************* the car. He replied that he was going to contact me the next day, so I explained that due to unforeseen circumstances, I no longer could purchase the vehicle. He then text, why? I replied too much money for the car and payment. I asked me various questions and I explained that due to unforeseen circumstances I was going to keep my current vehicle. His response, "I understand'." I requested a refund of my $100.00 dollars and he replied that he had to speak with his manager. On Saturday, I followed up with a text to **************, to which he replied that they gave up a very desirable vehicle and were not refunding my money. I never signed any agreements/Purchase orders/not contracts, they are basically committing theft with my money. Please help with my refund. Are there other victims that they've done this to??Business Response

While it's the dealership's policy to not refund deposits on inbound units due to a lack of inventory, we will refund this customer as a courtesy..Customer Answer

East Coast Toyota ************************************************************* ************ www.eastcoasttoyota.com This is in regards to a leased 2019 Toyota C-HR that were leasing since 2019 and decided to purchase on 09/2022 once the lease came due. Upon being notified by East Coast Toyota we contacted Toyota ********* Services which was handling the finance payments and they reported a $9777.60 total amount was due on the vehicle. Toyota ********* Services directed us to the dealership to complete the purchase. As instructed, we met with as salesperson at East Coast Toyota which produced a ******* report with a total of $14,692.73. This being above the total amount due as already reported by Toyota ********* Services. The brake down as follows from East Coast Toyota. In dispute is the face that we only owed $9500.84 as an unposted payment was already in process with Toyota ******* Services Monthly ($276.76) + original down finance down payment charged on CC on 9/10/2022 which we decided we would then buy out adjusted for ($1500.00) + the total remaining according to East Coast Toyota for $13,192.16 paid by check with Total paid out $14,968.92. As this is an inflated and over exaggerated charging of fees to the tune of $5468.08 this is in dispute and all we have received from East Coast Toyota is nothing but excuses to talk to the ******* department and waste of time. Understanding that there are fees involved with purchasing after leasing the amount stated below on LBO/RESTOCK ($3250) i.e. LEASE BUY OUT/ RESTOCK FEE is questionable and predatory practice at best. Unfortunately, EAST COAST TOYOTA has failed in practicing trusted and fair consumer protection. We would like to see a resolution with them regarding this matter but have only received the run a round from day one. 2019 Toyota C-HR ******* Details Retail Price $9777.60 Net Selling Price $9777.60 LBO/Restock $3250.00 Total Value Adds $3250.00 Adjusted Sales Price $13,027.60 Doc Fee $599.81 Registration Fee $155.00 Tire Fee $ **** Total Fees $762.31 Total Taxes $902.82 Sales Sub Total $14,692.73 Total Amount Due $14,692.73Business Response
