5 starsI have only the highest admiration for this institution. Every single problem has been handled swiftly and professionally. Even compassionately. Calls are not sent to a large foreign call center. Your call is answered promptly and with a professional customer service PERSON. From small issues such as not knowing how to transfer money from one member to another, to larger ones such as disputes with undue charges from companies; Nusenda has always been there to help me. Even to listen patiently and relate personally. Now, my daughter and son in law bank with them and are sliving it.Review fromKevin G

I was being overcharged $200/month for "insurance" when I had insurance for my vehicle the entire time! I submitted my evidence to their 3rd party website, of whom they DO NOT communicate with only to still be forced to pay the $200/month overcharge. When I did not pay the overage & only paid what was in the contract agreed upon by both parties, Nusenda reported that I was behind on my payments to the credit bureaus. I have bank statements to prove that I made my contractual obligation payments each & every month on *********** the same month I finally have my payments back to the contracted amount, I just so happened to receive ANOTHER letter stating I need to resubmit proof of insurance AGAIN! This company is an absolute joke & the 3rd party "verifier" Nusenda uses does not communicate with Nusenda nor do they provide them with the proof of insurance coverage! This appears to be a racket where Nusenda is attempting to scam people out of their money by claiming bogus insufficient insurance coverage. My insurance coverage was plenty enough to have my vehicle licensed in 2 different states. Can anyone help keep Nusenda Credit Union honest and ethical?Nusenda Credit Union

I've been paying my auto loan in cash at the Uptown Branch the first week of every month. On July 5, 2023 I paid a male teller $117.00; he gave me 42cents in change, leaving the hundred seventeen dollars in front of him. July 28th I received notice my loan was past due.I spoke with *****************, telling her I made the payment at the Uptown Branch, I paid on 5th of July, $117.00. She called me back saying she had checked the transaction before & after the 5th, no transactions for that amount occurred. I ask if they would check their cameras, the transaction should be on video. She said her "audit" was done, complete, no transaction for that amount was found. She checked all the tellers' drawers. I ask why they would check all the tellers when I told her it was a male, far south side, the last position. She claimed they're a team. I need my receipt and until I show her the receipt it's closed; the audit is complete. Why is she refusing to look at the video? Why is she covering for him? ? ? If no transaction for that amount, plus it shows my account had not been accessed for 3 weeks prior, then what did he, the teller do with my cash payment? take it home with him?Quick to report it on my credit report yet refuses to look at the video showing I made the payment. I was forced to pay two payments this month as she is charging me late fees and reporting it on my credit. Ms. ******* Wants all letters, correspondence to go to her.Why the cover up Ms. ***** Where's my money?Nusenda Credit Union

If I could give this place 0 stars I would. The interest rates are outrageous, and the customer service is garbage. Props to *** in ****** Services, and once I spoke to a **** who was also quite helpful; however, I would say...Don't waste your time with them, go somewhere else because even if you pay a higher rate somewhere else, you make up for it in their ridiculous fees they charge. Their online payment system rarely works and during lockdown from covid I cannot count the days I sat in their drive through attempting to make a loan payment during my lunch break only to drive away because it was over an hour in that line and my lunch break was wasted just sitting in line and still could not get assistance as requested. The one time I did get to talk to someone about the online system they said they could not help me and that they would have to have someone call me back about it and after waiting for over 6 weeks I just gave up. I was paying over 100 dollars a month in interest, and they could now waive a **** fee to make a payment over the phone and their excuse was that it was a 3rd party vendor in charge of their online services and would not even give me the **** back. They made a mistake regarding my car insurance, and it took months to straighten out and of course more fees' I believe ***** for that as well. I have never had so many issues just trying to pay someone. I would rather walk than finance another vehicle through them. Try another credit union if possible. I moved out of *********** and it is quite frustrating to try to do anything with Nusenda unless you can walk into a branch and speak to someone face to face and you are still taking a risk in doing so, CUSTOMERS BEWARE!!Nusenda Credit Union

Nusenda is a scam!!! 4 Years ago, I was overdrawn on my account by a few dollars and ended up paying $300.00 in fees. As a result, I went into the store and spoke with the branch manager. I paid off all of the fees and brought my account current in order to close it. Fast forward to 2023, I had an amount that was sent to Nusenda through an account that had my old information on it, and it turns out that they left a savings account open that I did not know about, so my funds were not sent back to originating source. I spoke with a nice expert who recommended re-establishing my online account and transferring funds for the quickest turnaround time. I followed the steps and authenticated my external account. When I went to transfer the funds to my correct account, the transfer went into a hold status, and when I called in, they advised they would not release my funds until an overdraft fee balance was paid. Somehow I incurred additional fees after my account was closed, which is the entire reason I went to the branch to pay what I owed and closed my account. I even offered to meet them halfway, and they would not adjust the fees and release my funds. So now I am paying additional fees that were added to my already closed checking account. I feel like this is robbery at this point. I've heard similar situations from several other people. This "institution" needs to be investigated.Nusenda Credit Union

I had been thinking of closing my accounts for a while due to some very poor experiences over the past few years. Some of those seemed unethical. Ive been a member for decades and started accounts there for my children when they were young. My adult daughters current problem with Nusenda has provided the impetus. Nusenda has a HUGE cybersecurity problem! She has had $14k transferred out of her account in 3 separate transactions over the past month. A few days ago another $4k was transferred from her acct without her permission into another member acct. Nusenda wont tell her who is taking her money. Nusenda has NOT notified her of these transactions. She finds out by looking online. Nusenda fraud **** told her they will not restore her money without a police report they can access online, which takes about 2 weeks. This appears to be an inside job by Nusenda, yet their fraud **** expects the customer to resolve their fraud problem for them. My entire family will be banking elsewhere in the future.Nusenda Credit Union

I've been a customer for 110 plus years. I've always been turned down from a loan by them. No big deal. I applied for home equity loan 2 weeks ago. I was told I have credit score was 655 and gave me a rate of **** . I was told I needed to decide in 24 hours if I wanted this loan. At no time did I receive an actual written quote or given a direct phone number for agent. Next time I called said I wanted another agent . I was asked if I received documents . I said never expected any . I got the documents 2 days later The new agent confirmed all the numbers given to me at first. I called first financial credit union . I was ***** credit score eve after being pulled was 666 and have me rate of ****. the other fico scores were 702, and 689. I was told by Nusenda they have there own system and in the documents no company was stated regarding their 655 score. Is it discrimination, poor employee service...I don't know. Based on the numbers I'd say employees trying to game the system to get commissions . I'd hate to go on far as discrimination. By the way I've been at my job 8 years make 100 I and enough equity in the house to cover 25k loan.Nusenda Credit Union
