Lots of fees and difficult to get a clear response from their support line. I called and requested an estimate for a sewer line repair for a root intrusion near the dropoff into the main city line, under the street. The woman over the phone explained that they'd send out a plumber to examine the issue, and that they'd be charging a dispatch fee. Not thrilled about the fee, but I agreed expecting an in-depth inspection of the issue along with the estimate. Their plumber arrived the next day, and on describing the issue to them, they informed me that Signature is not licensed to perform the work because it involves digging into the street, then charged the $80 dispatch fee and left.Hoping this was due to a misunderstanding in the original call, I called again to request a refund of the dispatch fee. Over the phone I was told that it would be processed and refunded the fee promptly. After a week I noticed the refund had not come back and called again to ask for status on this. Again I was told that a representative would reach out shortly to discuss this with me, and I was told the same thing when reaching out via text. No contact since then after another week. This company seems all too eager to charge fees and a premium for their services, regardless of if they are actually able to provide them. It's also very off-putting to see these responses from their customer service, seemingly trying to string along the customer until they forget or give up instead of providing a direct/honest response.I'd recommend avoiding them in favor of any other plumber in the city.Signature Heating, Cooling & Plumbing, LLC

5 starsSignature sent out ****** *. to shutdown our heater and get out swamp cooler up and running. ****** *. did a fantastic job, was very helpful in explaining what all he did, and also went out of his way to replace a broken item not directly tied to the job he was doing, and took pictures of our roof to show us some water and other damage that has occurred. Above and beyond services. Was nervous when ******** was bought by Signature, but so far, thing have been great. No decline in service. I called signature heating and plumbing to get a quote on a draft inducer motor installation for my furnace .I was already aware of what part needed to be replaced because my father-in-law is a retired contractor and he inspected the furnace yesterday and advised me that the draft inducer motor needed to be replaced.The fee for Signature plumbing to come out was $77 plus tax, which came out to $82.87 with taxes. I was totally fine with paying the inspection cost, even though I already knew what the issue was. I was hoping they would have the integrity to give me a reasonable quote. I was taken aback when the technician advised me that the cost would be almost $1400. I conducted research yesterday, 12/30/24 and for an OEM factory replacement part would cost $340 plus tax, there would be an additional 10% off for signing up with my email in which I did. If I had gone with a non-factory part it wouldve cost me even less which was about 165+ tax. I in turn showed the technician how much the part would cost, I asked him to give me an itemization of the charges that signature plumbing and heating was charging and he said they do not do itemization and that I would have to call a supervisor. Once he left, I called and left a message for the supervisor to call me. The supervisor, ***** ******* called me and I asked him to explain why the cost would be so high and he gave me a generic answer that it was for the technicians expertise and the warranty and for peace of mind. Even with the cost of installation and the part, there is absolutely no justification for it to be $1400 (The technician also told me that it would take 15 minutes to install that part and if I had any mechanical know how I could do it myself).There was another individual who interjected when I was talking to Mr. ******** I did not get his name, but he told me to do what I had to do and he hung up on me once I advised him that I was going to leave a bad review on ******. The management of this company has no perception of customer service. After finding a leak in my hot water system and about 300 gallons of water on the floor, I called this company. As the system was about 10 years old, I agreed to replace the water tank, circulation pump, ball valves and associated pipework. I agreed the price to get the problem fixed and accept that decision is on me. However, on completion I asked for an invoice showing the breakdown of costs for parts and also labor so that I could be better informed as to where the money went. After 4 attempts I was told by a company manager that they do not provide detailed invoices, just a job total. Therefore, as near as I am able to determine, I paid (approximately) $2000 for parts and $3000 for labor, which for 6 hours on site equates to $500 per hour. I would not recommend this company. Always insist up front on a fully detailed breakdown of costs before accepting. Treat that breakdown as your evidence, should you need it. Online purchases, while sometimes cheaper, come with risks such as delays due to damage during transit and complicated warranty claims.If our team provided the price upfront, you agreed to it, and we completed the work as specified, we believe we fulfilled our commitment fairly. While it's true that lower prices can sometimes be found, smaller companies with minimal overhead can offer services at reduced rates. However, these companies often come with trade-offs, such as limited availability when the owner is unavailable or a shorter business lifespan.We do not provide time and materials breakdowns after the work has been completed. I believe you spoke with *******, our plumbing manager, who explained this policy. In the future, requesting a cost breakdown before work begins may provide you with the details you need.We stand by the quality of our work, backed by both our warranty and the manufacturers warranty.
