1 starWe had a large 26 window project ordered July 2022. Three times we were told the windows were on a truck headed my way. It has now been verified that not only have they gone out of business, but they took our money and never even placed the order for the windows. Working with Renewal By Anderson Corporate office now to see what remedies are available. looks like they were running a Ponzi scheme at all of our expense.Review fromAllison J

1 starJuly 21, 2022 my husband and I signed a contract buying 9 windows from Renewal by Andersen of New Mexico. They said they would contact us every two weeks to keep us updated on the status of our windows which had been promised within 6 months. We paid 80% down that day. Today is August 4. 2023. We have received one phone call a month stating our windows were not ready and they did know when they would be ready. When we called them at their various phone numbers there was no response except for one. We were able to talk to one person a few months ago. We wanted our money back and she refused. Still no merchandise or service has been received by us. We want to cancel our order and get our money back. Can the BBB help us?Review fromJustin M

1 starBUYER BEWARE!!! This company took my 50% deposit for window replacements in August 2022 and stated that we could expect a 4-6 month wait before the windows would be ready. It is now August 2023, and we can no longer get anyone from the company to answer or return our calls. It looks like we may have to exercise legal options to get their attention to either finish or return our money.Review fromHarry M

4 starsOne year since ordering seven replacement windows in 4/22 until installation in 4/23. However, the windows were installed extremely well and they all fit correctly. One screen was shipped damaged and we just received a replacement in 7/23. Extremely high quality windows, and in retrospect, perhaps it was worth the wait. Nothing but mostly good things to say about Aesops Windows and Doors in ***********, **, the firm through which we ordered our Renewal by ******** windows. One negative point, though, is that they are virtually impossible to contact in any way conceivable and messages are never answered. Thank you! *********************Review fromCharles & Cindy B.

When salesman came didn't ask what kind of window trim & installed was unpainted. Damage was done to our home in the process of getting the windows installed. Front glass door has a 3 inch scratch & outside wood trim broken off all of the window in the process of getting windows installed. Several screws were left in the driveway, resulting in tire repairs. These issues have been reported & photos sent with no results.Charles & Cindy B.

1st payment was processed in 8/21. I believe we have been patient & understanding to get the repairs completed. We were promised repairs on the damages caused by their staff.Review fromGary G.

1 starWe ordered 7 replacement windows from Renewal by Andersen of New Mexico on June 17, 2022 with the understanding we would have them installed before family arrived for Thanksgiving 2022. It is now March 23, 2023, no windows. We receive weekly calls saying "there is not an arrival date as of now". Many emails from ***** (the financial services company that deals with purchases paid overtime; as well as Certified letters from them trying to intimidate us. We have talked with several employees from Renewal By Andersen; Xmplar, LLC; *****; ************* (how cute). It feels like a shell game; they keep changing their company name. We believe they are targeting 55+ communities; We have asked them to JUST cancel the order many times, but then they tell us we will have to pay one-half of the ENTIRE bill which was $17, 244. Today we received an email from yet another person giving us a "deal" (*************************************) from the ************** saying they have already paid for the windows. That they will deliver the windows when they are finished; and it will be up to us to have someone put them in for us; and they will deduct $700 ($100 per window) if they do not install the windows themselves. She said the materials were due by May 23, 2023). I contacted our Chamber here in ********** several weeks ago and they said the Renewal by Andersen didn't have license to operate in New ******************** and gave me the phone number for our State's Attorney General. We want our $1,244 deposit back and we want the calls, the certified letters, the warning emails to stop, please!!! The GrammersReview fromCheryl and Ronny Pynes P

1 star***** is so correct. Paid big down payment in July 2022 for 10 replacement windows. Didn't get windows installed until January 2023. Two windows were the wrong size so they put in fillers and foam and cut exterior framing to cover the voids. We've had one call asking for balance of payment in which we requested resolution of the 2 window replacements. Today is March 12 and we haven't heard anything back. Has always been difficult to talk to the "owner." Installation guys did a good job with what they had to work with but there was still the problem of the two misordered windows. Some other company with qualified personnel needs to take over this company. The windows are of good quality. The management and ownership of this company is inferior and unlike any we have dealt with. **************Review fromJason M

1 starHorrible experience. We were sold our $20,000 glass door on 3/27/2021 with a 10 week install date. We gave them half down as per their contract. 10 weeks comes and goes with ZERO communication from Renewal by ********. After I spend 4 weeks trying to get ahold of somebody, one of the countless messages I left was finally returned. I was told it would be another 4 weeks and our install would be scheduled. Again 4 weeks comes and goes, again ZERO communication from Renewal by ********. Finally, I get a call, we will be there on Tuesday October 5, 2021, to install. This call came on Friday October 1, 2021, at 6pm. They show up, start the demo and set the glass door. Come back the next day finish install, and the door sags on top. I call company and was told, that is how the door is. I did not accept their answer and called the local company to have the owner come and see for himself. He agreed, the door was sagging and promised to fix the issue. Finally on November 10, 2021, 5 weeks after the initial install they come back to resolve the issue. Door is reset and fitted properly. In the process of installing the screen door the installer notices the screen door is damaged. Renewal by ******** said they would order and replace the damaged screen door. Fast forward to June 1, 2022, 6 months later, 6 months of asking the status on the replacement of the damaged screen door, they still have no answer. Screen door finally shows ** in August of 2022.WRONG SIZE.Complained to local Renewal By ******** again and again and again. Here it is October 17, 2022 almost a year later and our project is still not complete. Local office tells me the screen door has been ordered but no ETA as to when we will see it. We gave them our money, project paid in full, and they still will not give me an answer as to when we will be rid of their so-called SERVICES! This lack of concern from a high ticket item company is unacceptable.Review fromCheryl S.

1 star***** mezzotti /xmplar sold me a sales pitch; all I inquired about was a simple re-stucco and ended up signing for an additional rock pop out. Nothing was done correctly from the beginning: wrong rock was installed, halfway through the job, installer never returned, phone calls and text messages ignored, stucco samples left outside on the ground; after the management was supposed to arrive for yet, another consultation. Horrible professionalism, experience and follow through. Also the BIGGEST waste of money and time. I've reached out to the owner as well but no response. Just don't do it y'all, pick up a stranger off the street to do a better job.Review fromLuis. G H

1 starWhen we purchased a small bedroom window, although it expensive, we expected quality worksmanship and ********************* The service was poor for the following reasons: Time frame of window delivery was way way off. Miscommunication when workers were sent out unnecessarily. Missing parts due to a broken down truck (twice). Often did not return phone calls. Not willing to compromise on a solution after expressing dissatisfaction. You can find a better and less expensive window elsewhere.
