I purchased this Desert View home in August 2022, and I have had many issues with this home since then. Today, February 17, 2023, I had to place another service request regarding the hot water pipes in the guest bathroom, and once again, I have not received a response. I have had several issues regarding repairs, and most of the time, I had to complete the work myself. One of my main concerns is that the house is not built properly. After having the furnace serviced, the technician saw some issues with the way the furnace was mounted and mentioned that the house was poorly insulated, and there were areas in the attic where the sun was shining through. He went to the back patio and showed me how the roof of the patio was not sealed off, which is why the sun was shining through the attic. This is what was written in his report: (Showed customer pictures of the stand where the unit is at two by fours, also took pictures and showed him to customer of several areas, where the light comes in through the house where is not properly sealed. Customer saw the area and took pictures as well.) My brother actually sealed some of the openings that were coming from the back patio where the sun was shining through the attic. I did mention these issues several months ago, and no one has responded. I spoke with a couple of different home inspectors; however, they do not inspect for code violations. Friday, January 27th, I received a call from *****, and he made an appointment so that I could sign some repair documents that were made to the house. (Never completed by Desert View.) As usual no one showed up. So typical! I would also like to know who I can contact to make sure that this home is code compliant and safe.

    Better Business Bureau®:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ******** and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.

I do have some concerns regarding the mounting of the furnace, however ****** said that it meets the builder's code and if I should have any problems with the furnace, Desert View will take care of it. I am actually surprised that the furnace would be mounted as cheaply as it has been. In comparison to other homes that I had purchased, this was the worse that I had ever seen.

    Regards,

I had my home built in June of 2021. I had a few issues that needed repairs. The warranty team came and fixed majority of the issues but failed to repair my shower which got a crack in the wall. I filed several complaints about the crack. I was told to buy a sealant for the crack because the team wouldn’t be able to fix the crack. This is unacceptable because this house is under a year old. It should be covered under the warranty because there’s nothing in the warranty manual that states or says that this is not covered in warranty. This is not my fault, this is due to the house settling. I can not upload a file because the warranty book is over 25 pages and it doesn’t talk about shower tile repairs.

    Dear BBB,

Thank you for forwarding and sharing our customers concern. We truly understand the disappointment this could bring to them. To begin, cracks in tile are not covered in warranty. for ex. the following items in the orientation report are excluded from warranty, cracks, chips, scars, stains, dents, burns and scratches to any materials after orientation sign off, they are considered Wear and Tear items. However, that being said, we truly understand how this can be concerning to our homeowner and we want to help. I have met with our Customer Care manager, and we will be overlooking the exclusion to this item and making arrangements to get this repaired for them as soon as possible. We really want our homeowners to be happy and we need to accomplish taking care of this item for them.
