In june of 2024 i started having transmission issues. I called michael **** in *********** to let them know because they had just installed the transmission with a warranty in February of 2022. The transmission only had 40k miles on it and it was the second transmission to go into the truck. About a week after dropping it off they called to tell me it was not the transmission but the transfer case. I was shocked and had a few conversations with them about how I thought they were wrong. They insisted. I told them if that's what's wrong to just fix it. After 4 months they called to tell me my truck was done. I went into enterprise and dropped the rental I had off which cost around 3400 to have. I paid Michael **** 3700 for the transfer case and they gave me my keys. I couldn't leave the parking lot as I heard audible grinding while in first, just as it had been doing when I dropped it off. They sent a mechanic out and he noticed as well. They asked for my truck back because they needed to order a transmission. They installed the third transmission under warranty but said I was on the hook for the transfer case. I was also on the hook for rentals according to ***** because the transfer case wasn't under warranty. Essentially they had my truck for 4 months to fix a part I didn't need, and left me on the hook for both that part and the rentals, only to turn around and tell me I needed a transmission which is what I told them in June. The transmission was covered under warranty. Out 7200 dollars for a part I didn't need. In the diagnostic they replaced the part because they stated the noise was coming from the transfer case, although that was not the correct diagnostic.Business Response

I visited Michael Hohl Chevy, GMC dealership to purchase a 2019 Ford Expedition MAX LTD 4x4 for our growing family March 12th 2024. I had been speaking virtually with the dealership working out the terms and conditions on the vehicle, the trade in i provided which was a 2014 Ford CMAX Hybrid as well as I was told i needed to provide a downpayment which I was willing to do once i went to the dealership and test drive the vehicle. When i arrived to the dealership the car was running, and we went on the test drive. at the time the check engine light was on and they stated they had to jump the vehicle, but it was more than likely a battery issue. the vehicle drove well, but i wanted them to get the service department to do a full check of the vehicle and clean it because it was filthy on the inside. they kept the vehicle for over a month, stating that because it was a ford that the ford dealership across the street needed to be the one to look into the check engine light. i called every few days with no positive response as to when the vehicle would be ready, or what the issue was. it turned out to be the timing chain needed replacing, which caused the solenoids to fail as well. when i got the vehicle over a month later it drove well for four months and then started dying. I made contact with the dealership three times, and no one has called me back or offered to take a look at the vehicle. I've been stranded with children in the car and i am more than unhappy that no one has reached out to me. after the month it took to even get the vehicle in my possession, to it now not being reliable at all i want them to take it back completely since no one is willing to contact me back, and i cannot rely on this vehicle.Initial Complaint

I visited Michael Hohl Honda in Carson City in September 2022 to purchase a Honda truck. I met with the salesman and agreed to purchase a 2022 Honda Ridgeline truck. I agreed to trade in my 2015 Kia Soul. When sitting with Julianne, the finance manager, I was pressured to add some type of additional warranty. He could not produce any description of this 'warranty' but just said it was being offered to me "at cost", $1,200. Initially I said no but he asked me 7 times, indicating that this was a fantastic offer, and I needed it. I asked him for a description of what would be covered, and he was unable to show me anything. I felt so pressured that I gave in and agreed to add this $1200 to the price of the vehicle. After the sale, I visited the Bill Walsh Honda dealer in Reno and was told there was no such thing as this mysterious warranty, but that it was merely an added commission for the finance mgr. I also discovered that the sales tax they charged me was fraudulent in that sales tax was calculated on the retail price of the truck without deducting my trade in amount first, meaning I paid sales tax on my trade in. I paid sales tax on my Kia Soul when I bought it new. My trade in value should have been removed from the full retail price on the Honda truck prior to calculating the sales tax. I was lied to and cheated. I was overcharged. I became deathly ill shortly after purchasing the Honda, with a recovery of over a year, hence the delay in filing this claim. I would like my $1,200 refunded as well as the sales tax that I was fraudulently charged for and the interest I have been paying on these two amounts.Initial Complaint

Chevy traverse was brought into the dealer on 4/3/2024 at 96057 miles for a transmission shifting concern. Dealer acknowledged and said transmission flush and 90k mile service would solve the issue. 4K mikes later the car starts doing the same thing again. I call on Friday 24th of may and take the car down for a test drive. Technician said there was an issue and we could take it back to the dealership. Troy said bring car in on Tuesday to be diagnosed again since the flush didn’t resolve. I was told it would be looked at Tuesday. Then Wednesday, then Thursday, then Friday then the week after and kept getting no responses from the dealer other than acting like they were doing me a favor ahead of supposedly 100 other customers even though this is the second time I brought my car back for the same issue. Finally it’s diagnosed and it is the torque converter but now that it’s over 100k miles it’s magically no longer on warranty even though I brought it to this dealer for the same issue months prior. I spoke with Adrian on Friday June 7 wanting to escalate that my car should be covered or their dealer should cover use of misdiagnosis and lack of communication etc from their dealership. Adrian acknowledge that there was problems with my situation and he would need until Monday to go through the details and see what he could do for me. Monday comes and he will no longer return my calls or texts and I never received a status again on what will happen with my car and what he can do to make things right. I called and even left a message with the receptionist who told me she would walk it into his office since he was there and still no response back about my car. I brought this car to that dealership for the life of the car every 6 weeks and now they are saying I didn’t have the right services done even though I brought it to them every time. I never declined services and they are saying I didn’t get the right things done which is on them. Please helpInitial Complaint

This never happened my bank hasn’t received anything from Micheal hohl Subaru. I bought a used 2019 Chevy Colorado from this dealer in early/mid august. The day I bought it they made me wait 4 hours to get the car an oil change and detailed... November 21 I'm driving to the Bay Area for the holidays (mind you I've only put about 3,000 miles on the truck since I bought it) and as I'm driving through Sacramento my check engine light turns on. I go to Oriellys to get a code in which the code comes back saying the timing belt is off. So I take it over to the nearest dealership in Fairfield, Fairfield Chevrolet. They diagnosed the truck with little to no oil and what oil was left was incredibly dirty. The mechanic said "there's no way to know what work they did before they sold it to you but if I had to guess no-one changed any oil in that truck, they probably just added oil which is why it's as dirty as it is." So I called Michael Hohl Chevy and spoke to 4 different people all of which I had to repeat my story to because of the lack of communication between them. The first 3 people tried to help, the last guy pretty much said "so sue me"... so here I am... convinced this dealership lied to me about the work they did when I bought the truck.Initial Complaint

I Bought a car on 7/16/22 Now its 7/28/22 (719 miles) later. I took the car to my local dealership to perform the inspection and the news I got was SHOCKING!!They told me I need a NEW ENGINE!!!At the cost of $48,000!!! (I died). The rattling sound I was hearing is from the connecting rod bearings and there are metal fragments in the oil and the oil filter. They provided a video inspection which confirms and shows the metal shavings. The warranty states the parts are covered so, I called and spoke to my salesman and the general manager Dennis B*** at Michael Hohl Motor Company to explain what was going on with the car. I was told to wait and see what the warranty company had to say and that it would be handled one way or another and they wouldn’t “Leave Me Hanging”The next step the warranty company sent an inspector out to perform an additional inspection to confirm what the dealership diagnosed. “The warranty company told me they are denying the claim due to a pre-existing condition”.Many phone calls, emails, and text messages with an appropriate request of how they would be willing to make this right was met with a reply by Dennis “I am a reasonable person that’s easy to deal with as long as I am not threatened or bullied”As a consumer when did requesting action be taken by the company to make good of a bad circumstance be misconstrued as a threat or bulling? This began a new routine of being passed back and forth between the dealership and the warranty company each one-pointing fingers at the other to take responsibility for the repair. On 08/09/22 Dennis requested I supply him with the lowest possible estimate for an engine replacement, I supplied him one at half the cost of the original and they have never responded. I have continued to place a weekly call to no avail.Again 9/15/22 placed a call with no reply from Michael Hohl Motor Company, I reached out again today 09/21/22 continuing to try and establish communication as before only to be passed to voicemail.
