      I signed a contract with Mastercraft Painting in May 2022 to resurface my patio. I sent an upfront deposit of 25% down ($1077.00). The owner promised a completion date of late July 2022. When I called early July 2022 to find of if the work had been scheduled the owner was rude. He scolded me and threatened to terminate the contract and accused me of bothering him. He was intimidating and he was so mad that he was going to have to "think about whether he wanted to complete the job or not and he would call back the following day". I was shocked by his tone and although he was very unprofessional, I still wanted the work completed since I had waited but he never called back. He didn't issue a refund of my deposit of $1077.00 or communicate to me if he was going to complete the work or not. In early August I called again for a status update. I left a message but again but I was not called back. I called again and finally spoke to Andrew, his employee who advised me that the job had been scheduled for the end of December 2022 (6 months late!). I assumed this was some type of retaliation by the owner since December is the rainy season and 6 months later is not even close to the original date discussed. I informed Andrew that I was very unhappy and disgusted by the entire process and that the new Dec date was not acceptable. I told him to cancel the contract and to return my deposit. I followed up by sending an email. Another employee, Kevin, responded to my email that my deposit would be refunded the following day. I never received my deposit back. I have left messages but my emails and voicemails have remained unanswered. I am requesting the BBB assist me in getting this company to issue the refund of the upfront 25% deposit. I also want to share my complaint publicly to warn others about Mastercraft Painting. Mastercraft Painting company promised to do the work but failed to complete and refuses to cooperate or issue my refund. **** *******
