Hired Pac Men USA to move Household goods from ********** to *******. They in turn hired a moving contractor by the name of Alpha Moving Services, LLC. -DOT ******* on 12/14/2024. Alpha Movers moved my household furniture across state lines only to arrive in ******* ( final destination) with damaged furniture/items.Over $3200. Was paid and extra to have furniture arrive before the new year. I was promised a safe and secure delivery with no damages. Only to have Headboard, Computer table, Dresser, Sofa and other kitchen goods severely damaged and/or compromised. I reached out to the company only to find out that they are no longer in business. I contacted the broker ( PackMen USA) who referred me to CSI, which I thought was the Insurance Carrier, only to be told they dont handle claims for Alpha Moving. I was then referred to ***** who told me to file with BBB. Please help as Im at a loss of who should be responsible for my damages.Initial Complaint

I hired Swift/Alpha Moving Services in August after my husband died unexpectedly. My price changed substantially three times from the original $2926 to $9209. They stopped loading halfway through and told me I would have to pay more, in cash, for them to continue loading. The worst thing was the condition of my belongings. Anything that was breakable, was broken. I had a beautiful desk that was slid across numerous surfaces with the shrink wrap hanging off of it and the wood ruined. I put in a claim in September with *** and started out being 92 in line to have my claim reviewed. Yesterday I was informed that my claim could not proceed due to lack of authorization to proceed. What does that mean? And, I cant get any items repaired until they inspect them. So everything is in storage. I tried to call CSI - got voicemail. Called Alpha and their number cant take calls and their mailbox is full. These companies are as unethical as they come.Initial Complaint

I hired a broker (*********************) under the guise that they were a moving company to move me from ******* to ****** on September 24th, 2024. They contracted out to Alpha Moving Services, who I never would have hired. They collected my things, charged me over double the estimate, and then had me pay cash only. Frankly I was scared to tell them no since they had all my things hostage and there were two large men in my apartment. Once I moved, it took until October 8th to get my things. Most were broken and half was missing including a couch, dresser, bed frame, mattress, and most of my clothes. I have called them every day regarding my things. They say they are in a crate in a warehouse in ******, but will not deliver them to me. They officially broke contract on November 8th, and per their contract they owe me $25 per day for every day they are late beyond that. They are refusing to pay this as well. Their customer service has blocked my number and I now have to call from my partners phone. I want my things or I want my money back.Initial Complaint

Our priority with the moving company was to have our household items delivered to our new home in *********** by July 10th. To meet this deadline, we consulted with them on the best pickup date, and followed their recommendations. On the day of pickup, we reconfirmed with the staff that our belongings would arrive on July 10th. Not only did our belongings fail to arrive on the promised date of July 10th, but they were not delivered until nearly three months later. What was especially frustrating was the complete lack of communication from the moving company. Each time, we received the same unsatisfactory response: "We can't find a driver, so we have no idea when the delivery will be." The Bill of Lading stated that they must compensate us for the late delivery. I was told that someone would call me to provide this compensation, but to this day, I have not heard back from them. What was particularly distressing was that the moving company never informed us of the potential for such delays until after our items were picked up. Had we been warned of even the slightest chance of a delay, we would have packed more essential items in our carry-on luggage. The moving company also lost our items and has yet to provide any updates on their efforts to locate them.We are demanding that the company take immediate action to locate my items they lost, fully compensate us for the delayed delivery, and cover all additional expenses we incurred due to their delays, lack of communication, and unprofessional behavior. After the appalling treatment we received, this is the bare minimum required to regain any measure of respect. We do not want anyone else to endure the horrible experience we had with this company, which is why we are filing this claim.Initial Complaint

I originally hired ******************** for my move from AZ to **. They in turn hired Alpha Moving Services, LLC to do the work. Alpha has materially breached the terms on their contract to transport my belongings from ******* to ********. Swift Shift and Alpha 1) failed to transport ***** cubic feet (****** pounds) of my personal belongings, leaving many items behind in *******, 2) failed to use appropriate pads and blankets to transport the items, damaging many items, 3) failed to use appropriate care when handling the items, damaging both the items and the floor in my ******* home, 4) failing to complete the move and reassemble the items, 5) losing several items, and 6) inexplicably leaving another customers personal belongings in my driveway, and have made no effort to pick them up and deliver them to the correct customer. My clients personal property has been damaged, and they have incurred thousands of dollars in additional costs because of this breach.Initial Complaint

The broker for our move scheduled August 23, 2024, updated our contract with a lower price (5.00 per cubic foot vs 5.50) and required an additional deposit. Even after receiving the updated contract, Alpha Moving refused to update the prices upon the delivery date. To receive our things we had to pay the higher price which they than said they would fix later. The total cost difference came to $2437. I have been calling them for 3 weeks trying to get satisfaction and have gotten nothing but a run around.Initial Complaint

***** ****** did get both if his deliveries. The customer was informed if he had any damage items, He would need to file a claim through ***. So, Alpha could get him reimbursed for the damage items. He can also claim any missing items also if he feels he needs to put those on that claim also. He does have nine months from the date of his delivery to get the claim processed.

I am rejecting this response because:The delivery driver refused to do the task that was part of the contract they were supposed to unwrap and set up beds. Also the driver refused to unload the truck until he was paid the balance due and get his delivery paperwork signed. So we had no opportunity to access the damaged items. We had 50 plus boxes and could not access the damage inside the boxes as well as review the bill of lading to tell what was missing from our delivery. We were not told that part of our load was still in *********, ** and not delivered in one load until the first load was unloaded so again signing documents without being able to validate we received all of our belongings. So I could not document what was missing! Yes I filed with the damage and missing items with CSI to get reimbursed at .60 a pound but CSI is refusing to pay for what was missing because it was on the delivery paperwork. All delivery paperwork was also refused to be given to me by the both delivery drivers.
To again highlight -
Alpha Movers in breach of contract for not unwrapping or setting up furniture, delivery driving refusing to unload giving us time to review damages and what was missing forcing us to sign delivery paperwork without given time to validate the load was undamaged or complete.

The 1st payment was made 2/27/2024 for $1,001.25 to united Express Moving which ended up being a broker, then on 3/2/24 $1,488.82 to Alpha Moving Services LLC, then on 3/10/2024 I had to cash app ********* the driver from Alpha Moving Services LLC $1,291.82. The agreement was that they would unload my property and set it up In my house the way I wanted it. I didn't receive what they agreed to and the company/Owner hasn't done anything to tey to fix any of the issues including the money for the insurance claim because they lost some of my property. The movers showed up and the driver ********* ******* stayed in the semi and the other person just moved the items to the back of the semi trailer and handed them down to us except for him tacking the 2 box springs and 2 mattress off the semi trailer and leaning them up against the trailer. **** the owner won't even respond back to my emails or my phone calls to try and fix the problem. It's always ***** or Destiny giving excuses why he hasn't returned my calls or emails and now ***** says she doesn't know why he's not responding back to me.Initial Complaint

I booked through Swift Shift Van Lines for my cross country move from ******* to **************. When the moving company hired by *********** showed up on June 4th, 2024, it was Alpha Moving Services. I was told that my items would be in transport to ************** that week and held in a storage unit in **********, ** until I was ready for delivery. On July 23, 2024 I initiated a delivery by calling. After 1 entire week of back and forth, they finally got in touch with me and said that it will take 7-10 business days for my items to be delivered. This was confusing because ********** is only 45 minutes away from my new home. After contacting them multiple times, my things were delivered on August 4th, 2024. Upon delivery, my items were crushed and my boxes were destroyed. A majority of my items that were labeled fragile were broken. I also have 4 missing boxes and 3 boxes that were not ours. $500 worth of my things were either broken or missing. I attempted to file a claim but the claims department requests a bill of lading, which I never received. We were quoted 2175 for the move turned out to be over 6000. Our stuff was trashed, broken and we are missing kitchen appliances, vitamix blender, kitchen aid mixer, clothes which would include womens underwear and lingerie. I have called to complain and they pass me off to someone less helpful. They are ignoring all emails and i cant get a response from them. Granddaughters crib mattress had to be thrown because it was folded and warped making not toddler safe. Tv is chipped, glass broken, Christmas ornaments broken, toys smashed and broken, furniture chipped. Our stuff really looked like it had gone through a meat grinder. The one thing they stressed is satisfaction guaranteed and their movers handle with the best of care. They said they love to support our military and said they move service members all the time and they are happy with their move. When i consulted my son in law it he wanted to move forward, we all agreed that IF they are experienced with military moves, we should go with them. Terrible mistake. We paid for full service and we took apart our own beds and put them together when the mover(s) were supposed to do that. This has been THE WORST EXPERIENCE ever
