Buying a car for my 18-year-old son. didn't want to buy a vehicle that wasn't certified, but salesman shows me a vehicle that was not certified. I told him no then he said if he threw in a warranty equivalent to a certification will that work, I told him that I did not want to pay for warranty. He replied okay let's see what we can do. He then proceeded to, what I now know as "backing a customer into a monthly payment" (very misleading method of negotiation). Every time I asked to see where, in the paperwork, it referred to the warranty and that it was going to be free he got up from the table to go speak with a manager and he came back and say yes it's in there. They charged a reconditioning fee that was bogus that I had told him to remove because it was an almost new vehicle that had no reconditioning done to it, he said he would check with his manager. He comes back and says okay how does this payment work I said no three times. He told me the payments were high based on the current interest rate but turns out he ended up charging me for the warranty and the reconditioning fee. Now I'm going to struggle to make payments based on an estimated price that is way above what we negotiated. Turns out my $4,000 down payment did not go to the principal of the vehicle therefore my loan amount ended up being higher than anticipated and the sheet with the actual figures and estimates was not shown to me until all the signature pages were signed. Both pages attached to this complaint or not shown to me until after signatures were completedBusiness Response

************************* the Sales Manager spoke to customer and offered to send a copy of the repair order and the customer declined it. He explained that we discounted the price to cover the cost of the warranty but the customer disagrees with it. Customer is still upset but at peace with the situation. Nothing else to be done.Initial Complaint

Date of transaction: Oct. 8, 2022 The amount I paid to Findlay Toyota for a 2022 Corolla with a trade-in my 2017 Corolla iM (mileage *****); $12320 The dispute is: they inflated the sale price of 2022 Corolla (very basic) for MSRP price $20600 to full sale price $28924.20 (minus my trade-in price $15347), and this new car cannot fold off the mirror like my old car (since I have a narrow garage). Now I paid so much to upgrade this new car with unpleasant function (now I have to stop to fold off the mirror by hand every time before I park my car into the garage and get out of the garage).Though I called them immediately (called car dealer ***************, sales manager *********************, General Manager ********************* office) on Oct.8 when I found that the new car has no fold-off mirror ************ to today (Oct.18), nobody from Findlay Toyota called me. Account/Order/tracking number: the new car's Dealer Stock # is: ****** Attached please find Dealer's Report of Sales (hided my personal info) to show the "Full Sale Price" for this very basic 2022 Toyota Corolla.Business Response

I am rejecting this response because: I contacted Findlay Toyota Custom Relations Manager today and drove over 20 miles to met her, the dealer who sold my car, and sales manager. Now they released the attached copy to explain why they sold my car with the full sales price $28924 showed in the Electronic Dealer's Report of Sale I showed in my compliant. From this MSRP copy, you can see that this 2022 Corolla has very limited upgrade, and I didn't negotiate any deduction (which is abnormal!). They hided this MSRP when they sold me car as you can see obviously. The sale person insisted that this MSRP was in my car, which was not and totally liar. I was told that they couldn't find any Corolla with the mirror fold-off function, and I was told that Toyota cannot install this function either even I am willing to pay for that. I am not acceptable to their exaggerated sale price $28924. If they cannot reimburse me some money or resolve the automatic mirror fold-off function. I'll file further complaint to Nevada DMV about their exaggerated sale price $28924.
Sincerely,

On November 8th, ******** came in and met with ***************** who again went over the paperwork and explained there is nothing else we can do. **** explained that we gave him more money than his car was worth and gave him the book sheet that showed the value. **** explained that with the short supply of new cars there is no negotiation and the price is what the price is. ******** said he understood but was still not happy. As far as Findlay Toyota goes this matter is closed.Customer Answer

I am rejecting this response because:1. Findlay Toyota was cheating me, since they didn't give me that paper showing the tag price when I bought the car. I attached that cope here (they gave me on my meeting with them on Oct.24). As you can see that tag price is $24,298, which I ended up paying full as you can see. This is abnormal, since nobody will pay full tag price when they came to buy a new car, especially my old car (2017 Corolla iM: only ***** miles). I was attracted to come purely by their reasonable trade-in offer $15,473. Now they insisted that they had that tag price inside the new car, which was a total lie.
2. I called Findllay Toyota 2 hrs later after I found this new car didn't have the automatic mirror fold-off function, and asked them to hold my old car. But they refused to do anything. And nobody called me back even though I talked to the saleman, sales Manager, and the ********************** immedialely after I found the new car was not an upgrade after I paid $28,924 (minus $15,347 trade-in) for this 2022 Corolla LE.
Sincerely,

I am rejecting this response because:I feel very disappointed at Findlay Toyota's fraudulent sale action by hiding the tag price and didn't want to do anything even though I called them 2 hours later after the sale and drove over 20 miles to meet them twice.
I appreciate BBB's kind effort. I'll pursue other ways to file my complaint about Findlay Toyota.
Sincerely,

I bought a 2019 ************** on August 9th, or so I thought I did. it is now August 25th and two days ago, the sales rep had called me in saying there was an issue with the banks approving my loan and I either needed a co-signer or to turn in the vehicle back to them. After calling the finance manager, *****, several times, he continuously hung up on me saying he was "too busy" to help me keep this car. Instead, I called the bank who they're working with only to find out that my finance manager never even sent them the credit application to begin with. they're excuse was that they needed employment verification, which I had sent to the bank themselves because I lost all trust with Toyota. Now the bank is waiting for Toyota to send over the contract and credit application to approve me because they WANT to. They said I've already been approved based and just need Toyota to send them everything. When I addressed this with *****, he accused me of lying and hung up again. I have a trade in that still hasn't been paid off or taken care of. Again, I've had this car for THREE WEEKS and they still won't do anything to finalize the sale because they want to try and corner me into re-writing another contract so they get more money other than just agreeing to what the bank already signed off on. I'm livid and would just like to know the car I purchased will stay mine.Business Response
