To whom it may concern,
While the situation with this customer is unfortunate, her statements are misleading and incorrect. This customer made inquiries regarding the possible purchase of a vehicle and the trade-in of her current through ********. ******** is third party website that is not owned or controlled by the dealership. Accordingly, ******** does not make offers or representation that bind the dealership. Rather, based upon information provided by consumers, ******** makes estimates regarding trade-in values, payments, and other potential deal points. However, an actual deal is contingent on verification of all consumer claims and credit worthiness which are completed by the dealership. Indeed, ******** website publishes a disclaimer which states that the figures provided are estimates only which are subject to the dealerships’ confirmations. Unfortunately, upon our inspection and evaluation of the proposed trade-in, the vehicle the customer sought to trade-in was not in the condition as had been reported to ********. We advised the customer of the discrepancies between the information provided to ******** and our inspection. We further advise her that because of those discrepancies that the trade-in value estimated by ******** had to be adjusted downwards. When the customer was advised of the condition of her vehicle, based upon our inspection, and told the reason why the trade-in value was adjusted, she became angry and began yelling at our employees. Based upon the fact that we could not agree on a final amount for the trade-in and the customer was disrupting our business, we requested several times that she leave our premises. When she would not leave and invited us to contact law enforcement, we advised her that we considered her to be trespassing. Accordingly, after several more attempts to have her leave our premises voluntarily, we contacted the police to escort her off our premises.
