In Nov. '24, I called ************ Big-O for price quote on oil change. I was quoted 3 varying prices ($50, $125 and $75); the excuse for discrepancy was make/model of vehicle and *** of synthetic oil it required ( excuse was B.S. - make/model quest. asked ea. time). Very unethical. Prior to my oil change, I informed mechanic the warning light on dash indicated fluid levels were low. I asked mechanic to please make sure fluids were topped-off. I double-checked the Invoice to make sure fluids were added. Invoice indicated **Check All Fluids** - No Charge. I trusted it had been done. The next day, the following light illuminated on the dash, Fluids Have Reached a Dangerously Low Level. I drove vehicle to ********. ******, a mechanic with 30+ years experience checked the fluid levels. The antifreeze was completely empty. The coolant reservoir was steaming it's level was so low. If antifreeze hadn't been poured in the vehicle asap the engine would've overheated. All the other cooling system containers were empty. The screws were ****** meaning theyd never been touched by anyone at Big-O. I was furious and contacted a manager at Big-O named ****. Long story-*****, **** told me to call in 3-mos when the vehicle required another oil change and it would be free because Big-Os system would not allow for a refund. In Feb, I called and asked for ****. Ironically, ****, the ethical manager I spoke to in Nov. relocated. His replacement is also named ****. I informed ****#2 what transpired in Nov. '24 and the free oil change agreement offered by ****#1. ****#2 promised to investigate and call back. I never heard from ****#2. ****#2 is half the employee of ****#1. ****#1 delved into what transpired on Nov. 14, '24 at the ************ location and learned they failed to fill any of the fluids in my '19 GMC Arcadia, nearly burning up the engine. ****#1 offered a free oil change as a gesture of good customer service and ****#2 failed to return a simple phone call.Business Response

Hello thank you for calling and texting me this morning. after investigating and reprinting your invoice if you read it carefully all the items underneath that dot abbreviated line shows those items not performed which you circled in the picture. Additionally, I do apologize if it seems that it did not happen. Also the fact that this has happened in November, and neither party can remembered offering you a free oil change to reconcile this issue. My decision is to refund you what you paid for your oil change. A check can be pick up at the ************ store anytime after 2pm today.Initial Complaint

Broke my ignition by not pressing release button to turn back key for removal. Ive had this happen before unfortunately. Not willing to take responsibility saying the car still started when backing it out of bay. I noticed something wrong immediately and when key was removed after I moved the car 150 and tried to start it again and the ignition would not work. This will be the second time Ive fixed the same thing on this car from people not knowing about the key release. Manager ***** said I should have told them about the release, true.. but dont just break it into submission if you cant figure it out. Maybe ask. I dont review often. Only for exceptional or terrible service.Business Response

Had a routine transmission flush service done on 6/21/24. Transmission was not leaking before service but has been leaking ever since the service. I brought the truck back at least four times and left overnight but the transmission is still leaking. Turns out the original mechanic stripped out one of the bolts in the transmission case and they drilled it out, tapped the hole and installed a MUCH larger bolt. Unfortunately this is in the back of the transmission case where there isnt a whole lot of metal so they essentially ruined the case. I took my truck to a transmission shop and they said the case needs to be replaced. The store manager tried to tell me I only needed a new transmission pan but after explaining to her the leak was due to the larger bolt that can no longer be torqued down to specs for fear of completely stripping out the case, she agreed to order a new case. After two months of giving me the runaround and assuring me they would replace the case she finally told me they wouldnt. The transmission shop I took my truck to quoted me $2,200 to replace the transmission case. I should not have to pay for a repair that is only needed because a careless mechanic didnt take their time to make sure the bolt wasnt cross threaded before tightening it and stripping out the bolt hole.Business Response

Yes on 9/07/24 i went to a big o tires located at *********************************************** for alignment and tire balance&rotation. After waiting for over 3 1/2 hrs they said they finished and upon entering my car and starting it a check engine light popped on. They was no light on before entering the garage( the pcm/ecu records and stores all trouble codes so it is provable that there was no code befoee entering their store). At this point i do not srive me car i get out and ask for the manager or someone i can talk to about this problem. Upon the so called manager cam3 out said there was nothing they could do not there fault the code popped while their mechanics were working on it and test driving it. At that point i asked for a corporate number and then was told to leave or cops were gonna be called and i can find it myself online. Upon driving away i noticed the alignment was still of and the had taken the weights off my tires for balancing but never balanced them. On 9/8/24 i then went to another location located on ****************. Explained the situation and just asked since i paid for the 1 year which covers any number of alignments i need done in that year. They begin the work only to get half way done and tell me their district manager called them and said they cant work on my car. Why did i pay for a warranty service i can never use with them? And pay for work that was never completed to begin with and done wrong. I have tried to contact their corporate office to no avail. I would like my money back or them to honor their warranty. I do no plan om ever returning to the orignal s5ore where the problem occurred but to deny the warranty i paid for at any of the other how many stores isnt right and if that the case i need to be refunded and compensated for the work i have to do to get rid of the check engine light caused at their shop.Business Response

On 2/18/ 24 I took my 05 **** Explorer Sport Trac to this Big O Tires location to have an oil leak repaired and a full set of tires put on (per an estimate received from them on 2/16). There are not enough characters allowed for me to explain all of the problems and details of this VERY negative experience I had with Big O Tires but I will give a general idea. After spending $2335.48, I got my truck back with the check engine light on, major loss of power, very rough idling, and leaking more oil than ever before! After acquiring and reviewing some of the paperwork and receipts from Big O Tires, I noticed many inconsistencies, omissions and questionable inspections and questionable charges . Such as - the original inspection form from 2/16 (that the manager didnt show me until 2/27 only after I demanded to see it) shows that my brake pads were thin and needed to be replaced - I was NEVER informed of this even though I had a full set of tires put on! And on that same inspection form, shows that there was a leak at the rear main seal- I asked if there a was a leak at the real seal and was told NO! I was also charged for an alignment and was then immediately told after that they recommend an alignment!. I paid for an oil change but noticed very dark and dirty oil immediately after when I checked with a dip stick! -inconsistent info from one employee to the next- so many things! Also, I posted informative and honest reviews online about my experience and was then threatened by Big O Tires with criminal charges if I didnt remove my posts and sign a full release of liability! I was told by a regional manager that I would receive some sort of refund but have heard nothing!! I paid $2335.48 to get a truck back that is in worse condition than before, I have had to pay for Ubers, and tow trucks, and other mechanics to try and fix what is now wrong with it. The repairs and tires are under warranty but theres no way I would step foot in any Big O Tires location again!!Business Response

Hello, I truly apologize that this customer feels she may not enter a big old store, which is far from the truth. Her warranty is covered nationwide for 12 months or ****** miles whichever comes first there are 11 locations here in the valley with over 400 Big O Tires nationwide that she can walk into at any time to get her warranty needs done.
Regarding the accusations that she has presented I cannot comment on them because the employee that is involved may have taken legal action against them. So due to this I would hope the BBB understand the legality behind this as to why I cannot public comment on a public platform.Do note we stand by all the work that we do, and we stand by our employees, and we will not stand by anyone threatening them or accusing them of false accusations including up to deformation. We will always support our employees and our customers. Furthermore, I hope all parties on this understand that I cannot further comment about this situation.

I am rejecting this response because: I did not defame any of their employees. Also, this is about faulty repairs and not what their employee might do. I named her in a review and told the truth about the lies I was told. I also have the regional manager admitting that the employee in question lied to me and more than likely she lied to me because she knew I wouldnt pay to make all of the repairs needed and instead would just buy another vehicle. I will be happy to provide the regional manager saying these things in his own words. Also, I took the truck to a second Big O location in order to find out what all the first location did and didnt do because the regional manager couldnt get a straight story from the first location. The second location made changes to my vehicle without my prior consent (this was after they sent my partner and I a cease and desist saying they would not touch my vehicle until we signed away all of our rights and we refused to do so. so why was my vehicle worked on without my consent and why were parts changed at that time without my consent) and when I found that out I hired a tow truck to pick up my truck. I went inside and for ***** minutes the guy behind the desk refused to give me my keys. This should all be on video tape and we were told by the regional manager that everything was recorded. He also mentioned that what he saw on the tape and what he was being told by the first location did not match up. Does it sound like it is safe for me to go into any of their locations for warranty help when the two I have been in have lied, made changes to my vehicle, and kept my vehicle when I was asking for the keys. Only after threatening to call the cops did I receive the keys. The guy behind the desk then deleted some stuff off my invoice in the computer so who knows what they were up to. I wouldnt sign their paperwork for them doing work they were not supposed to do and thats reason enough for them to withhold my vehicle? Their employee, might, be suing me for defamation and thats why Big O as a company cant handle this complaint? This refund request? She knows more than anyone how much she avoided the truth during our interactions and thats just bad business. The regional manager verifying that I was lied too multiple times is the icing on the cake but legal action is being brought against me? What does that have to do with Big O as a company acknowledging faulty work and giving an appropriate refund? They dont have to comment. Because these are the facts.
They kept my truck for a total of t3 weeks on a 5 hour repair, I was never told they were having major issues trying to repair my truck. The first 5 hours turned into 3 days. Brought truck home and it was leaking more oil than it ever had and there was a major loss of power. Took truck back and they kept for 4 more days. I heard many different lies during those 4 days. We have this all documented. Times called, days, and what was said between the parties so its obvious that I was being lied to. Came in to pick up truck very upset, received more lies, and received a sheet of hidden paperwork from the employee in question. For office use only paperwork that verified that I had been lied to more than I originally thought. I was angry, hurt, and didnt know how I was going to get to my sick mothers to care for her. Called regional office, and I Had the truck looked at by a d the next day. Codes came up when he checked and the oil that had been supposedly changed looked very old, oil leak was still worse than ever and it was sputtering at times. The brakes looked very low and front and back needed to be changed but Big O neglected to tell me that when I had it inspected by them. It never sputtered prior to Big O fixing it and the oil leak was still bad. Regional manager calls and says will take him a week to investigate and get back to me. Instead, he called back the next day or two and asked me to take it to a location that had a master mechanic because he couldnt get a straight answer from the employee that says I am defaming her. (I wont use her name because when they brought up my honest review and said the employee was thinking of suing me and I said I have every right to post an honest review and the regional manager said yes, but it was the number of times you mentioned her name so I have refrained from writing any reviews or using her name since they sent us a cease and desist to sign) It was towed to the other location and at first the master ******** said he couldnt find anything. So he missed the codes, even though I mentioned them on that call they supposedly never found them. He also missed the sputtering which means it wasnt driven by him so he couldnt properly diagnose etc.. more of the same. I, out of sheer exhaustion of the situation and needing to close this chapter out agreed verbally if they fixed all that was wrong, all that the first location broke and gave me a partial refund then that would be fine. The regional manager said he would definitely be able to get me some sort of refund and fix what was broken by the first location just dont write anymore reviews and I didnt. Then after waiting hours he sends my partner and I a cease and desist and a list of just a few repairs that were needed, not all, and we needed to sign all of my rights away to any future repairs needed bc of their work and any claims to repairs needed that we did not yet know about, basically ending our warranties. We did not sign because we knew that we had the truth and proof on our side. We did not speak to them for a couple of days while I worked on finding alternative transportation and a tow truck to pick up my vehicle. I, then receive a text from the regional manager saying that the second location just went ahead and made a repair (a repair listed on the list of repairs to be made ONLY if we signed the cease and desist) so why did they touch my vehicle when they said they would not? I picked up my truck soon after.. well I tried to but it was withheld for ***** minutes. I asked for a full refund afterwards since both locations I have dealt with have treated me horribly and disrespected me in all manners. Our truck was also overfilled with old looking oil when we left the second location. Who would want to give them a 3rd chance to do worse to me or the vehicle. It has pretty much sat in the driveway since I got it back. The brakes also felt very different and the same mechanic that we had look at it prior to it being towed to a second location said they looked very different after the truck had been at the second location. All of this is unbelievable and I wouldnt believe it if we didnt have multiple mechanics to swear to these things. That added with how I was treated and lied to by phone and in person is why I do not feel safe to take it into another location for warranty work. Whats next? I dont know why the company giving a refund for their location destroying my vehicle has anything to do with an employee of theirs maybe?, trying some sort of legal action against me? What does that have to do with their locations faulty work. Also, theyve been threatening me with legal action to the point of making me cry during one interaction because this has been so stressful since almost the beginning and there has been no action taken, but they want to continue to use that as a reason to cheat me out of thousands of dollars in supposed needed repairs and ruining my vehicle!
Sincerely,

Hello All,
Unfortunately, we do have documentation, phone calls and video saying otherwise as we have Investigated. The details in this case are this customer came into one of our stores and requested services those services were rendered at 100% to our ability. The guest does not agree with what we found within our inspection and that is OK. The guest had multiple oil leaks which one by one we diagnosed and fixed. We did not fix the leak coming from her rear main seal because the guest refuses to get the rear main seal fixed after the other leaks were fixed. Unfortunately, I cannot disclose any other information.
Regarding the tires that were put on this guest vehicle they were new and in great condition at time of service. Which we have documentation on as well. They are also 100%under warranty if she has any issues for 3yrs. Our offer that was made to her which she variably agreed to still stands but she refused to sign. We are still open to getting this resolved as stated in our offer. If she would like to reach to us, please call ************ and ask for the GM.

I am rejecting this response because: it is false at its best. I tried dealing with your company by phone and text for 3-4 weeks and got nowhere. I did, however, get threatened with legal action for leaving an honest review about your employees business dealings with me. My partner and I were also sent cease and desists and were told no repairs would be made unless that paperwork was signed. We did not sign because it would release your company from all past and future repairs needed because of your bad work and we would never be able to speak about what was done to me or my vehicle. You forgot to say that in your response. In your response, you also forgot to say that its not just as simple as bringing my truck back in for a rear valve repair like you tried to make it sound. You did not say that your company knew of the rear valve issue and that your employee, although, asked point blank about the rear main told me for 6 days that there was no rear main leak. You did not say that the original inspection for internal use paper mentioned bad front and back brakes or a suspected rear main leak and that your employee neglected to tell me either of those things. Denying the rear main is bordering on fraud and denying the brakes is endangering me and others on the road.
Although, Im sure your internal investigation was just as thorough as your employees summation of what work my truck needed, I was there and I know what I was and wasnt told. Your employee has defamed me and your company has stood behind her while she threatens me with legal action and other ways that Im sure your company isnt privy to.facts are
took truck for diagnostic, make safe for long trips to ********** to care for elderly mom
was told some of what was wrong with my truck, asked about rear main and was told no oil leak
(original inspection sheet says yes) I didnt receive until day 7
kept truck 3 days for 5 hour repair, never told they were having issues
went to pick truck up, tried overcharging me, paid, signed paperwork, started truck
immediately check engine light comes on and the truck is violently shaking. Just starting it caused all of that to happen. When I dropped it off initially it drove perfectly.
30 minutes later finally say its fixed and I drive home. Notice immediate loss of power and burning oil smell which I was told to expect so I thought it would improve
it didnt and noticed after a couple of days it had leaked out a quart of oil. When I first dropped it off I had never had to add oil in between oil changes except for the very last one. I had to add some because the leak had gotten a little worse. I noticed very small spots in my driveway.
took truck back
**** called next day said everything they fixed was fine and the oil leak was still coming from my rear main seal and that the loss of power was something with the spark plugs
i asked what was done to fix my truck and he said nothing because everything they did was fine. I explained that cant be right because my truck is leaking a lot more oil now and there was no loss of power when I dropped it off with them. Told him I needed a safe truck to get back and forth to my mothers. He gruffly asked if the unnamed employee knew and said she would call me the next morning to answer my questions
she called the next afternoon and said they changed an oil plug the day before even though **** said nothing was wrong and that they had done nothing. She said loss of power was probably bc some old spark plug wiring was broken when they were making repairs. One of the wiring pieces doesnt match the others and it looks like it was changed but I dont recall being told of this and I certainly wasnt offered the old part
i told her **** had said the rear main was leaking and she said to her knowledge that it wasnt (she admits on camera on day 7 that she did know and showed the original inspection sheet to prove it) you left that out of your last response also. Then I asked since she said there wasnt and **** said there was would they mind taking another look and she said no problem but it would be the next morning before the mechanic could get it up on the lift and I agreed to pick it up the next morning then she offered to take pics of the area to show me there was no leak. She said and did all of this knowing it was false.. thats definitely bordering on fraud. She wasted my time and cost me a lot of money because she chose to be dishonest to get a few extra bucks from me but shes seeking legal action against me? Your company is standing behind this kind of business? Yes, please, lets see the tapes then. All of them, all of the phone conversations, every text, everything. Please, lets go for arbitration . I know what those videos have in them when I am on them but I cant imagine whats in them as far as the dealings with my vehicle. In fact, I cant wait to see what was and wasnt done to my truck because I have never been given an answer about it.. in fact, your regional manager acts like I do not have the right to know what was done to my vehicle? Is that the case?
You can try and make it sound so simple for me to get my vehicle fixed. Oh, come on back in and let us charge you thousands to fix what we knew was wrong all along but told you it wasnt. Its so simple. Just like the 5 hour worth of repairs that have rendered my vehicle useless because it is far from safe? After taking 7 days to attempt 5 hours worth of repairs and botching them it would just be so simple to bring it back for an even bigger repair, correct?
its got new tires though.. New tires on a truck that is useless for my needs?Your company knows that bad business was practiced. Your regional manager all but admitted that and a few other things that are just not right. I was really hoping this was not the kind of business your whole company practiced when I called your regional manager in the first place. I just wanted my truck fixed and to find out what all was done to it and why I had been treated with dishonesty so often. Instead I was defamed and threatened. I dont think anyone reading this will believe its just as simple as you try and make it sound. Lets end this in front of an arbiter since your company finds nothing wrong with your employees actions.
Sincerely,

Date of transaction for oil change 6/21/2024 price $79.66 Double charged and oil service almost or may of caused damage to my engine. Came on 6/21 for an oil change.. After the service my stop engine oil pressure low came on and I turned off my car. Luckily I made it home. Turned it back on check engine light came on and engine was making metal on metal noises. Car doesnt run the same. Went back on 6/22. They sent three people to my house and the third person stating that the oil change was done wrong. The two techs were telling the other how he messed up my car and didnt s**** the oil drain cap on tight enough. It was leaking all from the bottom. they had a guy come back and had the guy s**** the drain bolt on tight and he put oil in and it started up without the noise but drove differently as far as switching into gears. Got to the shop they did the oil change again and manager told me they will issue me the double charge when their system wasnt working and also the original charge due to their mess up. They could have blown my engine. I had to make notes and my own personal info and take proof and record the conversation with their consent on if anything goes wrong. ***** was rude and argued with me and told me to sit down and get away when I was asking for the documentation so theirs proof. Was told refund would be issued both for oil mess up and double charge on 6/22. I. .Had to dispute with my bank. The shop to give me information on if my refund was processed and each person told me that they would reach out and have him or a store manager. Give me a call back, never got a call back. I did reach out to this guy gave me a statement stating Id be getting refunds the lady on my last call who told me to contact the store anymore said that the manager who they want me to speak with denied the refund after they had already agreed to giving me the refund and also the refund for my duplicate charge , the shop is lying and its taking up a lot of my time they are in the wrong. There were no threats made besides an attorney. I am rejecting this response because: I made multiple attempts to contact the number provided. I left multiple voicemails that were never responded to the person. They want me to contact at that phone number denied my calls when the oil change was done wrong on June 21 and I came back June *************************************************************************************************************** a refund and that that oil service was free due to the mistake and that they would also refund the duplicate refund. I didnt see the duplicate refund provided to my bank account so I contacted them again on the 27th and I didnt harass the store. I just got all the proof I needed in case because they were doing me in the wrong. They messed up on my oil change, which caused to check engine light and to come on, the check engine light was on and it caused damage to my engine so I took all the necessary proof and documentation that I needed in case anything goes wrong with my car Better Business Bureau complaint is regarding getting my refunds. Im not harassing employees. I called four different people answered and said theyre issuing my refund but said they would have someone contact me along with this manager who the phone number on this complaint was provided, but they never contacted me. I left multiple voicemails and I never got a response and I had to dispute with my bank.

I am rejecting this response because:Contacted him. Left for voicemails shop answered the phone with multiple employees since the 22nd up until then I let the shop know that the guy who just provided that contact information has never got back to me. Anything else goes wrong with my car due to them providing an oil change that did put the check engine light on and caused noises from my engine.
Sincerely,

Again. I have not received a phone call from this guest to resolve any further issues he may have. At that time, we will discuss a resolve within reason. He is not answering calls from us as stated in a text message he sent to our store location but continues to respond here. He threatens attorneys but doesn't seem to have any interest in communication. I am available by phone Monday through Friday 9am - 5 pm. Not 9:00pm when he left the last voicemail June 28th. I did however call him Saturday June 29th and left him a voicemail. He has yet to contact me back since then.Customer Answer

The Big O tire location states they guarantee the best price but when I asked them to price match, they wouldn't match the prices of a nearby competitor. I even brought a hard copy of the estimate so they could verify the pricing. When I pressed the issue they indicated they don't price match even through there's a big sign in the lobby guaranteeing the best price.Business Response

Spoke to guest 7/2/2024. He was informed that ********** does indeed match tire prices for the same tire or a comparable tire. He presented a low-cost tire quote from a competitor that was not a match in quality for the tires he purchased. We guarantee low price. Not premium tires for low-cost tire prices.Customer Answer

I am rejecting this response because: The response doesn't address my entire complaint which included these issues: 1. The sales person mislead and lied to me regarding labor rates and also wouldn't match labor costs. 2. My car was returned to me in unsafe condition and I had to bring it to another shop to address and resolve the safety concern. 3. The sales person cursed at me and acted rude and unprofessional.

On 07/02/24 I **************** spoke with the guest.
I explained to him, to price match an item must be the same product shown to us at a lower cost. I also gave him an example. If he purchases 4 Nexen tires at the price of $600.00 from Big O Tires and found the price from tire works at $550 then we would price match that at $550 because it is apples to apples or orange to orange. It is the total price out the door is what we would match.
He also expressed to me the way he was treated by our store associates. I told him I would review the footage and the cameras to see what happened. I truly apologize to him because I was not there, and I don't know what incurred I do, however see our associates did not charge him for two of the installations out of the four tires that were installed on his vehicle. As it would seem to me, they were trying to do something to make things right. I also told him I will contact him back in 48 hours once I review the footage but ultimately whatever we do to our employees internally I cannot disclose due to privacy laws and privacy acts I will call him back and let him know my findings but once again I will only be able to apologize to him for anything that was said by our associates.Initial Complaint

The business caused sidewall damage to my tire which only needed a nail removed from the center of the tire. The company refused to replace my tire free of charge and demanded that I pay for a new tire on 01/19/2024 at or around 12:07 pm. I filed a complaint with TBC Corporate and generated a claim number *******.Business Response
