I took my car to this Auto place on July 27th,2024 to have Evaporator for AC fixed. When i took my car into the shop i had nothing wrong with the car but the air . The job they did was supposed to take 7.5 hours to complete. Once i picked up the car , i had a lot of things inside the car that was not working once i picked my car up. They had to pull off the whole dash board and the steering column to do the job. Once i received my car 2 days later , the horn was not working , the shifter that put car in gear , was very loose , to the point it said it was broken on the car visual screen on my dash . i also had a ticking noise coming from my dash board as well . I brought the car back again for a second time for them to fix the things that did not work from them pulling off the dash board. Once i came back later in the day they said that my airbag was not working and horn and volume button on steering wheel was not working , which all my stuff was working because it was at dodge for oil change the week before , and dodge did a complete overlook and all my things were working . The manager said that i had to replace my clock spring which was working when i took my car into the shop . Now they are saying i have to pay 800 dollars to get the part that they broke on my car , which is not fair to me being that everything worked prior to me bringing in for AC . Today 7/8/2024 my car is still there due to them not once again driving it before they gave to me and alignment of steering wheel is off and has to be corrected which they did not do before giving me the car on 7/6/24. They are very unprofessional and i will be filling this in court as well .Business Response

February 25, 2023 Total Amount paid: $909.34 Replacement of broken *********************** charge as the promised paid service was NEVER provided. The business has NOT tried to resolve issue.I live across the street from this business, I took my car into replace rack and pinion. The business later calls me notifying me that my car is fixed and ready for pick up. I spent $909.34 to have this part replaced, Only later to find out from a trusted mechanic that this part was NEVER replaced but is the complete original from when the car was made. This shop is absolutely a horrible business in providing service to its customers. Promising to fix broken parts on cars and never fulfilling their promises and at the customers expense. I would like a full refund as I paid another Auto Service who ACUTUALLY FIXED MY ************** This business needs to be shut down for the scams they're putting their customers through.Business Response

I am rejecting this response because:I was contacted by business that my rack and pinion was replaced and to come pick up my vehicle. I paid for services NEVER received. I was shown the old rack and pinion by a trusted mechanic that should have been replaced when I paid *** Auto. I have now paid another mechanic to actually replace what needed fixing, I would like a full refund to pay for the expense I am paying now for a service I already paid for that was NEVER serviced. I am not satisfied with business response as my vehicle was not fixed like they claimed and I was scammed out of $909.34. I do not trust this business as shown with BBB there are multiple claims they are an untrustworthy business. They are committing fraud on their customers and if this problem cannot be solved I will be suing for monetary damages.
Sincerely,

On Thursday May 25th I went to USA Auto Service at **** ********* ** ** ***** with a new oil filter and oil to have them do an oil change like they have in the past on my 2019 ****** Rav 4. The cashier gave me the typical price of $13 . After 5 minutes, the manager ****** came out to say that I need to have my transmission fluid changed because my vehicle was at ****** miles and it was supposed to be changed every ****** miles. I told him I had a extended warranty for ******* miles or 10 years and he said he can not take it and I have to pay $234 or I would ruin my transmission. I agreed because he said it was ***** mile over and would ruin my transmission. I came home, called ****** and was told I do not have change it until the mileage is 60,000-*******. I went back to USA Auto Service and asked why he would tell me it had to be changed? The manager ****** said that manual transmissions do. My vehicle is an automatic not a manual. Manuals are supposed to be changed at ******-60,000. He said the weather is hot so I had to change it which is not true with mileage of ******. I even showed him the information on ******* He refused to say he made a mistake. My wife called and questioned why he would do that and he said he did not say the car was manual. She told him that he worked on the vehicle like it was a manual when it is an automatic like he told my husband and questioned if we were going to have problems with the vehicle if he did not use the right filters or oil. He told her not to worry. He would not put greese in it ! I was not supposed to have it done for at least another ****** miles, he just said its hot and there is nothing he can do about it. He took on a very bad attitude when confronted on why he would change the transmission fluid and filters at ****** when The manufacturer does not recommend it for 60,000-1000,000 miles. ** senior citizens on fixed income we trusted a local business that is more than likely taking advantage of their customers.Initial Complaint

May 12 2023 I was making car payments for repair and they overcharged my card and took 853 instead of the anticipated 300. I called them back to explain what happened and the employee stated on a recorded line that they would refund me $553. I waited in good faith for several days for a promised call back on the confirmation when my return was processed only to call them three days later myself and be told they rather me come pick up the car and them backtracking their promise. I wrote a detailed email with timestamps and accounts to their corporate office. A lady called me back within 20 minutes of that email and rude and initially denied giving me my refund despite their employee saying I would get one. I advise her this goes against my consumer rights and she retaliated by stating they were going to add storage fees to my vehicle from this point forward. They wanted me to pick up the vehicle without my refund I had $1.53 in my account because they overcharged (by mistake) instead of correcting the action they wanted me to pick up the car with no money. The brakes still hadnt been fixed so it wasnt safe to drive and I needed a tow and I had already been penalized NFS fees from other bills because they overdraft in my account. I try to explain to the lady the situation and her only solution was charging me 60 dollar a day storage fees for asking rightfully for refund for their technical error. Following the phone call I filed a complaint with my attorney generals office, Ironically within the same hour their office called back and stated they will be giving me my refund, at the cost of storage fees at $60 a day Totaling an additional $600 on top of the service now that did not exist before. That wouldve never existed if the employee wouldve made the correct payment and I would continued to make a payments as I would have. I feel the decision was one in retaliation and fraudulent practices. A storage fee was not previously disclosed prior to the dispute.Initial Complaint

12/19/22 I went to his shop, explained I was pregnant & needed the problem fixed because my due date was on 02/7 and my transmission inspection was on 02/28. A/C was blowing hot air& engine was on. He offered to fix the issue for $1500, I was told to pay up front. I declined, the price was too high&needed more time to consider it.owing to disappointment I pre-paid $1500 on January 9, 2023, & he took my car. After 15 minutes, he called and showed me my car, explaining why my A/C isn't working, how a rat was getting inside, and He also added that I have a front arm problem, but don't worry, we can fix it if i bring my car tomorrow. Before going to work on January 10th, 2023, I came to drop off my car. I suspected there was a problem when the office called me to pick up my car at 2 PM. He told me everything was fixed when I picked up my car and that all I needed to do to pass the smog test was drive for 15 minutes. However, after 5 minutes of driving, however, my engine turned back on.Up until January 13, 2023, I kept going back to him.I went his shop on January 13th, 2023, and he called me out of the office to speak with me "Hey, I wish you had told me you had an issue with your engine and air conditioning before I found out. If you want me to solve the problem, it will cost you a lot of money." However, he noted, "You have 5 months until summer; your car is currently driveable." He wasn't even concerned that his negligence was endangering my unborn child. When I asked for my car key, they added a note saying that I am aware that the A/C and engine needed work. They forced me to sign or they wouldn't give me my key, so I did, and I left. What I later discover is that from January 10, 2023, to January 13, 2023, he repeatedly told me that everything was working, but when I left, the engine kept turning back on because he never fixed anything but was erasing or deleting the engin code. On account of the heat, my child and I are in danger. UnprofessionalInitial Complaint

On August 17th, my boyfriend and I were on the 2nd day of a road trip from ********* to ****************. We had just crossed into ******, and were close to ******* when we smelled smoke come out of our air vents. I opened the window to see if the smell was coming from outside, and it wasn't. Then, the smoke coming out of the vents was black, and I told my boyfriend to pull over. When he tried to slow down, the brakes weren't working properly, and he had to use the parking and emergency brakes to slow the vehicle. When we were on the shoulder and moving slower, I jumped out while it was moving and saw flames underneath the whole car as it slowed to a stop. My boyfriend came out with my purse and phone once it stopped moving, and when he got to me, the first tire blew up. From there it was explosion after explosion, and we couldn't help but think we almost died. The crazy part is, we had just taken our car in to get our A/C fixed at USA Auto Services #1, when they told us they thought there may be a fuel leak as well, so they put dye in the fuel system to see where the leak was coming from. They fixed the A/C at a cost of $403.91, and told us to come back in a couple of days so that they could identify the cause and replace whatever is necessary. We did as we were told, and brought it back a couple of days later. They said the cause was the high pressure fuel pump. They said it was an expensive fix, but could be done by the end of the day, and for that we paid $1637.05. Now, given that a fuel leak is a terrifying prospect right before a ****+ mile road trip, I asked them if ANYTHING ELSE was wrong with it before we left for our trip 2 days later. They ASSURED us that nothing else was wrong, and that the car will rest assured make it to Washington state and back with no issues.I've been to another mechanic since for my other car, and they have had to completely redo work I had done at USA Auto Services #1, including my front passenger axel and rotor, costing $900.Initial Complaint

DATE: JULY XX XXXX AMOUNT PAID: $3604.52 Committed to provide: direct fit converter system What was provided: universal converter NATURE OF DISPUTE: refund the difference in price Business said he can't help. instructed to just write a complaint Business has not tried to resolve the problem. Invoice # XXXXX RO# XXXXX On July 20 I went to USA auto service in Decatur because one of my catalytic converter in my jeep ******* 2005 was stolen. I spoke to Kristian who explained to me that my **** ******* has 2 catalytic converters. One was stolen and the other was about to be stolen but only the one side of the pipe was cut, even though the second catalytic converter was not stolen he told me that there was enough damage that he needs to place in a full system direct fit converter He could not just replace one converter and weld the pipe on the other. the whole system direct fit converter set would cost $3300. He said. Total was $3604.52 with tax. I agreed if he could do it the same day. But long story short it took 2 ½ days. I had to pick up my car after business hours, hence I did not get my paperwork for the repair at that time. The next morning, I checked the work done on my ***** They just placed a universal catalytic converter on the one side that was stolen and welded the pipe on the other catalytic converter. the one Kristian told me could not just be welded that's why he said he will be using a direct fit system. This was not the repair agreed upon. I went to USA auto service again on July 26 to obtain my paper works and discuss this with Kristian. Basically, what happened is we agreed upon a replacement of a part (more expensive) but he used a different part (far cheaper) about $2400 cheaper. And when I complained about it. Initially, he was surprised and said that's not what I ordered my mechanics to do. to oh we used a cheaper one but will give you store credit. when I refused, later he said I can't help you. This is clearly a bait and switch scam.Business Response

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2022/07/28) */ The repair was completed to specification, the price was agreed upon. Is the check engine light on now? Is there something wrong with the vehicle related to the repair? Are you now just having buyer's remorse and want to pay a different price? We need to understand because the paperwork reflects exactly what was repaired on the vehicle. Consumer Response /* (3000, 7, 2022/07/29) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) the job done on the vehicle was not the one agreed upon and discussed. kristian the supervisor explained and showed pictures of the part / parts that he was going to use to justify the the cost of the repair. he showed a direct fit system converter and explaining that the other converter was too damaged for just a welding job so he needs to put in a direct system fit converter. because my car had 2 converters one was completely stolen and the other one just a cyt pipe. what was done was just one universal catalytic converter and welded the other side of the pipe not replacing the whole system and still used my old converter still intact. Basically, what happened is we agreed upon a replacement of a part (more expensive) but he used a different part (far cheaper) about $2400. And when I complained about it. Initially he was surprised and said that's not what I ordered my mechanics to do. and offered store credit for the mistake. i refused the credit because i could not trust his services anymore. And then later said, nope can't help you. and changed his story. saying You might have misunderstood our agreement. How can I misunderstood what part he was replacing when he even showed me a picture of what he was going to use. This is clearly a bait and switch scamInitial Complaint

On May 17th my family and I were planning a trip to California and went in to USA Auto Service #1 for a 25$ oil change. After the mechanic tried to push a $300 fluids change( which he came back and lowered to $200) I declined and paid for only the oil change, and was out the door after 1 hour. We drove north for 2,5 hours when our engine broke down. After 4,5 hours stranded in the desert we had our insurance provide us with a tow truck to tow us back to Las Vegas where the car was left at the *********** service. They confirmed the engine broke because the mechanic had not put the oil cap on correctly causing a leak that eventually broke the engine constituting a full engine replacement at an estimated cost of $6500. On May 18th we came to a resolution with USA Auto and their regional manager to receive a new engine and full recompensation of cost by their parent company, *************. ************* repaired (not replaced) the engine and we had a third party inspect it, which found several errors to be fixed at a further cost to us. In phone calls with the manager and regional manager they have take the stance to not compansate any damages we have suffered, seeing the case concluded with the engine repair (which we had not agreed upon, we agreed to a replacement). So far the costs we have yet to be compensated include; $825 Towing $730 Flights $330 Inspection and repairs $141 Missed reservation $68 Transportation $37 Damages to gear shift Not to mention the time and strain endured as a result of the mechanics error. In phone calls they have consistently lied, from claiming no responsibility, to lying about the work done, responsibilities of damages and claiming not to know anything or anyone involved and mitigating the dangers of an engine collapse at 75 mph resulting in being stranded in the desert by a freeway with a 1yo and a 4yo for nearly 5 hours. We are currently at a standstill seeking legal advice to proceed.Business Response

Business Response /* (1000, 8, 2022/06/27) */ Our office has already been in contact with this customer regarding the vehicle concern. Consumer Response /* (3000, 10, 2022/07/05) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) Although it is true they finally got in touch with us after 3 weeks of sending them e-mails daily, their response was that they would issue us a blanket check for 2000,- to cover our personal costs from this case. They also said they would not fulfill their promise of granting us a new engine or reimburse the travel incurred as a result of the event, due to company policy and warranty coverage. Though we appreciate that they finally reached out and offered some compensation, it is not what was promised us and leaves us having to take their word that our engine is now sufficiently repaired and will not break down again. We have since learned of ******** Auto's history of purposefully sabotaging client's vehicles as proven in the Nevada Supreme Court case they lost against the district attorney in 2013. Raul, the district manager we spoke to offered us a new engine and asked it to be installed by ******** Auto so they could save money on labor for installation. Had we known their history at that time, we would not allow them to perform the installation but rather insisted on a third-party to do the work. Since we had the car returned to us two things were immediately found by a Kia mechanic to have been installed incorrectly, and 3 days later our check engine light came on and another error was found (which was repaired by *** at no further cost, as they should have spotted it the first time around). Since the repair, we learned that they did not grant us a new engine as promised, but rather opted to rebuild our old engine. The Kia mechanic informed us they cannot get inside the engine to assure everything has been rebuilt properly, which is why we are asking ******** Auto for assurance on their work. Had ******** Auto's track record proven them to be reliable and the dealings with them since been courteous, we could have considered trusting their work and taking a financial hit just to be done with this case, but they have not offered any compensation to remedy the damages that they caused without us first pulling it out from them by having to argue, fight tooth and nail and spend hours on the phone while being demeaned, consistently lied to and harassed (in the case of my wife). Not once has anyone in this organization apologized for placing our family with two small children in danger at the side of the road in the middle of the desert, but has opted to act like a victim because we have the 'audacity' to ask them to rectify the damage caused by their employee. To finalize this case we would like to have our personal expenses covered; 2151.27,- which does NOT include the 1550,- in lost wages we were initially promised by the Regional Manager. AND we would like some assurance that our engine will not break down again. This can be done either through; - a warranty plan with a third-party mechanic (as our confidence in their work is compromised), - OR the NEW engine that was promised us (installed by a third party) - OR a check towards future repairs to the engine as a result of the repair. This has been communicated to ******** Auto but has yet to be responded to.Initial Complaint
