While driving northbound on Highway 93 in *********, **, a golf ball-sized red rock flew from the top of the trailer designed to carry rocks and other such items and struck my windshield causing a quarter-sized crack. After informing the company of the incident their response was to suggest I go through my insurance carrier to repair the damage as if it were random debris on the road that caused damage to my vehicle. The company also suggested that my insurance company would fix the damage with little effect against me. I saw the rock fly off of the trailer and crack my windshield. If it is so simple Western Elite should use their insurance to repair my windshield and in the future be more diligent to make sure their business of transporting gravel, debris, and the like does not cause damage to other people's property. Unfortunately, Western Elite refuses to be responsible for the damage their employees/vehicles caused. It is no coincidence that a golf ball-sized rock flew from the top of their truck and cracked my windshield. It was not random debris from the road but one of the three trucks that were on the same stretch of the road that caused the damage. I was able to get the cab number and photo of the vehicle that caused the damage while also driving on the highway. I also have a photo of the second vehicle that was not throwing rocks onto the highway.
