Purchased a wheel and tire warranty on a 2019 ***** 14 months ago. Was advised at the time of sale this coverage would cover any wheel or tire issues within the first two years. I had a flat tire in front drivers side from a nail. Warranty claim was denied due to excessive wear. These tires have 33K miles on them. This should not even be an issue.

      Business response

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2022/07/11) */ Unfortunately, the tire was worn out beyond repair. With any warranty or service agreement, there are some limitations for coverage. In this case, the agreement states "Tread Depth Requirement: To qualify for coverage under this Agreement, tires damaged by a Road Hazard must have a minimum of 3/32" tread depth at the lowest point on the tire at the time of damage". This limitation can be prevented and coverage can be prolonged with an effort on the consumer's part to maintain the vehicle and rotate the tires. This is especially crucial due to the Las Vegas climate. If the paperwork signed at the time of purchase is no longer accessible, we would be happy to re-send those so the coverage terms can be reviewed. We are truly sorry for the misunderstanding. Consumer Response /* (3000, 7, 2022/07/16) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) The dealership sold me the warranty with the advice that any road hazard happens to the tires within the first two years of purchase there wouldn't be any issues. Also, when I was first called on the claim they asked what tire I would want to replace it with. The gentleman I spoke to advised they would not replace it and only repair it and in which the tire was beyond repair. Also he notes this is especially true in Las Vegas climate. I lived in northern Nevada for 6 of those months. Those tires were exposed to only one Vegas summer. So to tell me that those tires in a newer Lexus can't handle that seems very suspicious to me. Business Response /* (4000, 9, 2022/07/19) */ While we can't speak to what was said at the time of your purchase, our finance manager's typically highlight the benefits of the tire and wheel coverage without a 100% guarantee because there is some onus on the consumer as well as exclusions. The tire and wheel agreement does provide very comprehensive coverage including protection against debris such as nails, glass, potholes, rocks, tree limbs not normally found in the roadway. But as mentioned, the tire and wheel coverage is predicated on the fact that tires need to be rotated and inspected periodically. Based on the pattern of wear, it does appear the tire pressure was low. The tire and wheel agreement reads (4 a-c) "In order for coverage to apply under this Agreement You must do all of the following: a) Maintain air pressure at Vehicle/tire manufacturer's recommended levels and perform all manufacturer recommended and preventative maintenance, including alignments, rotations and balancing. b) Check tires periodically for (i) tread depth less than 3/32", (ii) improper wear, and (iii) dry rot. Replace tire if any of these conditions exist c) In the event of covered damage, You must take immediate action to protect the tires and wheels from further damage. We would recommend reviewing the full terms and conditions. To be clear, we were not suggesting that the issue was caused by the Las Vegas climate, we are merely stating it makes it even more important to maintain tires properly.

I bought a vehicle cash, and while filling out paperwork they said they would not perform a credit check. Well maybe I should have checked here, because like other customers, they performed a hard credit check anyway after saying they won't. They gave me a letter indicating their error so I could try to fix it myself. 2 out of the 3 said it had to come from them. I reached out to the Andrea H*****, the business manager, and she's working on those two. One of those (*******) just reported back that "INQUIRIES ARE A FACTUAL RECORD OF FILE ACCESS AND WILL REMAIN ON THE ******* CREDIT FILE TWO YEARS FROM THE REPORTED DATEOF THE INQUIRY" (the document had that statement in all caps). All of my credit scores are just barely on the south side of exceptional, and I do not know how much this pulled it down, how hard it will be to get back to that upper level, or what I might need to use my credit for in the next two years, so this damage is very hard to quantify. If I can get 2 out of three reports removed, I will be satisfied (since it sounds like ******* won't be fixed). If that is not possible, I would like to seek monetary compensation.

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2022/04/19) */ I contacted Mr. ***** via email today with an update on *******. We will make another attempt to have that removed. I requested that Mr. ***** update me on ********** and ******** so we can ensure those are removed as well. Please know that we will do everything in our power to rectify this issue. Consumer Response /* (3000, 7, 2022/04/20) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) I sent Ms. H***** a response that the hard credit checks still exist on all three credit reports. I am glad that they will do everything in their power to resolve this issue, and look forward to a positive outcome. Business Response /* (4000, 16, 2022/05/11) */ Any updates should go directly to Mr. ***** from any of the credit bureaus. I have not received anything on my end. I anticipate it will take at least 30 days to receive any communication.

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2022/02/02) */ Contact Name and Title: Mike W*****, Service Dire Contact Phone: ************ Contact Email: mw*****@toyotaoflv.com When the vehicle came in, there were several codes for cylinder misfires. Found spark plugs were original, cylinder 1 spark plug was fouled out. After replacing plugs, there was no more shaking at start up. Test drove vehicle 9 miles after warm up. Also, found vehicle low on coolant upon arrival. Performed pressure test on cooling system @ 16 psi. No pressure was lost. topped off coolant. There weren't any signs that there was any other coolant leaks. Customer stated the vehicle never got hot. Spoke with the Service manger @ ************* Toyota, indicated diagnosis was correct. Internal damage caused on Trip to Las Vegas. Consumer Response /* (3000, 7, 2022/02/03) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) The information is incorrect in the paper it says they test drive it for 20 miles now he is saying 9 miles also the the Service Manager at ****** told me it was partially diagnosed that they did not find the root cause of the problem Business Response /* (4000, 10, 2022/02/07) */ Customer brought vehicle in to service for illuminated check engine lights on dash being displayed. Customer also complained the engine was shaking excessively. Upon multi-point inspection, technician found the radiator to be leaking, the coolant reservoir bottle was empty and the spark plugs were fouled out. Technician ran diagnostic analysis via Toyota Techstream and found Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) PO30027, PO30100 and PO30200 Multiple Random Misfire. Vehicle has over 155,000 miles with NO HISTORY of spark plug replacement/service. Technician recommended replacing the radiator, coolant and spark plugs. Customer DECLINED radiator replacement work, APPROVED spark plug replacement work. Spark plugs were replaced, DTC's cleared. Coolant was filled to factory specifications. Vehicle was test driven and no engine shaking was felt/observed, no DTC's occurred. Vehicle was picked up by customer and customer was again advised of recommended radiator replacement repairs needed. Customer was advised to monitor coolant level until radiator is replaced as indicated on Line 51 of the repair order. Customer was verbally warned of the risks of NOT replacing radiator, customer verbally DECLINED repairs once again. Upon return to the Los Angeles, CA area customer experienced excessive engine shaking and took vehicle to a SoCal area Toyota dealer. SoCal Toyota dealer found DTC cylinder 1 misfire caused by coolant leaking into cylinder through a blown head gasket. A blown head gasket is caused by engine over heating, engine over heating most commonly occurs when the coolant system is low or empty do to a leak, such as a leaking radiator. Customer was advised in Las Vegas, NV that a new radiator was needed. Customer DECLINED recommended repair and then drove almost 300 miles to Southern California. During the drive vehicle most likely lost coolant and the engine became too hot causing the head gasket to go bad. We will be happy to provide any/all diagnostic information to the customer or SoCal Toyota dealer to assist in the repair. DW Toyota of Las Vegas is NOT responsible for consequential repairs related to customers choice to DECLINE recommended repairs.

On Dec. 3rd. 2021 I stopped in to David Wilson Toyota to buy a car. I told my salesman when he asked how I was paying for it I said cash. He said he can do better and I told him NO, I AM PAYING CASH. after driving different vehicles and finding the one I wanted we agreed on a price. The salesman then told me before going in to the business office for the paperwork that he needed my Social Security #. I told him no again that I am paying cash. He replied that he needed it for reporting the sales tax to the state and it sounded logical so I gave it to him. I then went into the office and signed the paperwork. The man told me that they do not accept out of state checks so I would have to go to ***** and get a Cashiers Check. When I arrived at ***** I checked my email before going in and there was a report that they did a credit check in me. I drove back to them and got into a argument about the credit report. They said I authorized it and I said show me the paperwork and they couldn't. Also, in all the paperwork I signed earlier their was no such copy. The General Manager called me after I left to threaten me with a Felony Arrest. I said go ahead as I never did anything illegal and I never took the car. I demand that they remove all credit inquiries about me to ******** and the others. BTW, the following week I purchased the car I was going to buy there at another dealer. They listened and did not run my credit.

THEY THREATENED TO HAVE ME ARRESTED FOR FELONY THEFT EVEN THOUGH THEY HAVE THE CAR. Then they said they did it due to FEDERAL LAW. Then they said the "SIGNED" Credit App was mailed to me. ( Never Received) They said they could not email it to me due to Privacy Laws. Now I am told by their representative it will be removed in 30 to 45 days. I WILL ACCEPT THE RESPONSE WHEN THE INQUIRIES ARE REMOVED FROM MY CREDIT WHICH IS ONLY THEIR GUESS. UNTIL THEN, NO WAY IN (BLEEPED).
