I was billed without my permission or knowledge a charge of $65 on April 12th by Honorsocity.org. I DID NOT AUTHORIZE HonorSociety.org to store my credit card information or charge me for any fees. This is absolutely unacceptable. I have reported this fraudulent charge to my bank and I'm filing a complaint now to inform you of the unlawful business transactions this company is doing. I never gave anyone a credit card to store my number to bill me in the future. I want this credited back to my account IMMEDIATELY and I want to know that something is being done to prevent this company from charging customers without authorization.Business response

My son was attending ******* Community College in *** ***** and received advertisement from what he believed to be the National Honor Society in affiliation with the *** ***** Community College. It turned out to be from Honorsociety.org which is not associated with the National Honor Society and not affiliated with the *** ***** Community College. The ad claimed to provide transfer scholarship opportunities for second year students at the Community College, which my son was at the time. We paid what we thought was a one-time charge to get this membership and my son did not receive any benefits or scholarship opportunities. When we realized that this outfit was not what they claimed to be, we canceled the membership. They continue to charge our debit card, despite our multiple attempts to stop them, and our multiple attempts to get our money refunded. We have called and spoken to them on several occasions, and they have promised to provide refund and cancel our membership after the last three billngs and have not done so. First payment was in August of 2020, with a second in Oct of 2020, third charge was in February of 2021, and fourth charge was in August of 2021, and we just recently received the fifth charge in Feb of 2022. Like i said, over the last three charges, we have tried each time to cancel and to get refund, and have only received one refund to date. We've paid $300 to date, and recieved refund for only $60 to date. I see a number of other similar complaints about this organization and would like to request help from the BBB. This "non for proft" needs to be investigated for their unethical business practices. We would like a refund of our $300, and cancelation/deletion of our account with them.Business response

We had already resolved the customer's billing concern on March 7 and request the complaint be removed from our record since it was already complete prior to receiving the complaint Consumer Response /* (3000, 8, 2022/03/10) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) As I stated in the complaint, we were deceived and lied to by this organization and charged 5 times over the course of 1 1/2 years, despite our repeated efforts to ******. And each time, they said they would give refund and ****** the account and they did not do so. 5 x 60 = $300 in total unauthorized charges to our account. We have received two credits for $60 each. So, $300 - $120 = $180 remaining in refunds to be provided to our account. On 12/30/2021 HonorSociety.org reference #****** authorize #****** 12/28/2921 took $60.00 from my bank acct . My daughter with learning disabilities was so excited when she got honor roll at ********* Comm College , she signed up she has gotten nothing from it except they take 60 dollars from my checking acct twice a year she has tried to opt out and or cancel with no way out. Her name is **** ******** she has gotten nothing out of being a member . Please cancel membership and refund $60.00. Thank youBusiness response

I ordered the honors society regalia package September 30th. The 1st 2 emails said they were out of my shirt size. That was in Oct. Now they do not return emails. I have called the customer support line on the webpage but my complaint gets forwarded to their escalation supervisor and ends there. I would like my order as I am graduating in 2 weeks, Dec 11thBusiness response

HonorSociety.org intentionally has a name almost exactly like the actual legitimate ********************** to intentionally mislead and cheat people out of their money in upfront membership dues of $100 + $15 certificate AND ALSO does not clearly advertise that it will continue charging your credit card $50 every six months to remain a member!!! This is a scam and I want my money refunded and any and all future charges to be prohibited with "membership" canceled immediately.Business response
