What was presented to us as a valuable investment and an opportunity for our family’s future has proven to be a deceptive, one-sided arrangement in which Tahiti Village has taken our money while delivering little to no value in return. From the time that we arrived at the resort in 2020, we were coerced into attending a high-pressure sales presentation as a condition of our discounted stay. During a several hour-long ordeal, Tahiti Village’s sales team made numerous promises that we now know to be false. We were assured that the timeshare, paired with an RCI vacation club membership, would grant us access to thousands of destinations, that it would build equity as a profitable real estate investment, and that it could be sold at any time. We were also told that the property was undergoing a massive expansion, including renovations to all room types and that we had to “get in now” before prices skyrocketed. When we explored selling the timeshare, their staff informed us it holds no value or equity and cannot be sold—directly contradicting the investment pitch we were sold on. The contract signing process itself was equally disturbing. It was audio-recorded, with the agent asking rapid yes-or-no questions, leaving no room for us to seek clarification. When we did manage to ask a question, the agent responded, “I can’t answer that because I don’t know anything in regard to the sales department.” This was astounding—how could the individual locking us into a contract claim ignorance about the sales process? The entire experience felt deliberately shady!Somerpointe Realty, LLC

We attended what was presented as a simple owner update during our stay in Las Vegas at Tahiti Village. It quickly became apparent that this was a sales meeting. We were told that our guaranteed week was no longer a valid option, and we were strongly encouraged to upgrade to the point system. Once the points-based system was in place, we realized the number of points provided was insufficient to book vacations equal in value to our original deeded week. We were also told that RCI would become our new exchange partner and that Interval International would be phased out, limiting our options. During the meeting, we were assured that Somerpointe Resorts properties were private and exclusive for use by owners only. We later learned that non-owners could access the property and its amenities, just like any other hotel. They kept dropping prices to pressure us into signing a deal that same day, with the warning that the offer would not be available after that point. We were treated not as long-time owners but as new prospects, pressured into acting immediately without adequate consideration or explanation. We were rushed, overwhelmed, and misinformed throughout the entire process, with no opportunity to fully review or verify the functionality of the points system versus our previous guaranteed week. The timeshare was also misrepresented to us as a real estate investment that would gain value over time. We have come to understand that timeshares depreciate and are incredibly difficult to sell if they can be sold at all. This was not disclosed at any point during the sales process. We were never informed that we were signing a promissory note for points—which would affect our credit—and we were led to believe that points were the same as our deeded week. We were misled into thinking that this upgrade would allow for the same flexibility and value as our original agreement. Instead, our ability to book desirable vacations has significantly declined.Somerpointe Realty, LLC

I have requested the immediate cancellation of our timeshare contract with Somerpoint Resorts/Tahiti Village. Our decision is based on numerous serious concerns regarding the sales process and misrepresentations made during our recent interaction with this unethical sales team. Upon arrival at the property, we were reminded that attending a presentation was mandatory. During the presentation day, we checked in and were directed upstairs to wait for our sales representative. Before the presentation began the salesman informed us that one lucky couple would receive an exclusive deal, claiming we were that chosen couple and would hear all the details after the presentation. Following the presentation, we were shown several expensive membership options, which we declined multiple times. The salesman then stepped away to give us time to consider, despite our clear declinations. During this time, the presenter approached our table to emphasize that we were being offered the highest-level Platinum membership, insisting there were no higher tiers available and that we would be giving up an offer of a lifetime. We were assured this membership would grant us exclusive access to plan vacations for our family. From the moment we agreed to the stay, we have been subjected to misinformation, excessive pressure, and unethical sales tactics. The misrepresentations regarding lifetime benefits, tax advantages, real estate ownership, maintenance fee guarantees, rental income potential, and reservation availability were misleading and dishonest. Given these blatant misrepresentations, we demand that they cancel our contract immediately.Somerpointe Realty, LLC

We experienced the same bait and switch tactic when we signed our contract with them over 15 years ago. We too were told that we could rent out our villa for extra income, and it was an easy process. It is easier to remove your own kidney with a kids cooking set than it is to get anyone to rent out one of these villas. Not to mention getting out of this contract with the devil. They also said that we could use our points with other resorts like Disney. Well, we could, but they never told us that we had to first sign up to RCI. Which was another annual fee. The conversion of points from Soleil Management to Disney was like 5 years of points = 1 day at Disney. We have been trying to get out of our contract for over a decade now, and each time there are hurdles that give all of the rights to the crooked timeshare management team rather than a tax-paying citizen. AVOID TAHITI VILLAGE AT ALL COSTS!!!! They have changed hands a couple of times since we were first lied to and cheated. Lastly, but not finally, the last time I went to Vegas to use my villa for a conference, I was told that I had to pay $175 per night. I told them that I was an owner. They gave me a phone number to call tomorrow to discuss this issue. I asked them, What was I supposed to do for that night? The front desk agent said, Well, you could either pay for the room here or go on the strip to find another hotel. I WANT OUT OF THIS NEW LEVEL OF HELL!!!!!Somerpointe Realty, LLC

When Somerpointe purchased (or took over ownership of) the property in Las Vegas, it assumed all rights and responsibilities to the properties and customers. It expects to receive payments from those people who have purchased timeshares from the developer and, as such, is responsible for their ownership. The final decision lies with Somerpointe to resolve any and all complaints and issues that exist with those owners. By sending the above response to me and so many other owners, Somerpointe has proven itself to be irresponsible to its owners. The reason why no other persons should purchase a property in this timeshare scheme.Review fromJIM L

My sister in law and I, now 82 and 79, find ourselves in an increasingly difficult situation with our Tahiti Village timeshare. Since our initial purchase in 2008, we've invested $135,921 in this property, averaging approximately $13,592 per vacation across our ten stays over 16 years. These figures exclude the steadily mounting maintenance and exchange fees, which have escalated dramatically from $230 annually to the current $1,434. The reality of our investment has varied significantly from what was presented during the initial sales presentations. Locating accountable representatives within the ownership structure has proven challenging, and we're now appealing to ASNY, their apparent holding company, to honor the commitments made to us throughout our years of ownership. At our advanced age, our travel has become increasingly limited, making it impractical to continue shouldering these financial obligations. The combination of unfulfilled promises, escalating fees, and minimal support has placed us in an untenable position. We have formally requested the termination of our timeshare commitment. The opacity of corporate structures in the timeshare industry makes it difficult for owners like us to seek resolution, though we suspect many others face similar challenges. We hope ASNY will demonstrate their stated commitment to customer value by addressing our situation appropriately.Somerpointe Realty, LLC

1 starOur fleecing by Tahiti Village began during a vacation in Las Vegas, when we were simply asking about show tickets at one of the concierge desks in the Venetian. We were promised heavily discounted tickets to a variety of shows in exchange for attending a 30-minute presentation. However, no specific information about the presentation was provided until we were transported by bus to Tahiti Village, along with other guests, and directed into a large conference room. The presentation lasted well over 4 hours. At one point, we were given a tour of the property where a salesperson shared ambitious plans for future expansions and upgrades at Tahiti Village. However, as of today, none of these promised improvements or expansions have materialized. During the presentation, we were also led to believe that through the RCI program, we would have access to equivalent properties across the United States, which has not been the case. Overall, nothing promised ever came to fruition and we have experienced nothing more than a money pit. These issues have made our ownership of Tahiti Village practically worthless. RCI has not been the enjoyable experience we were sold on, and is in stark contrast to the grand promises made during the sales presentation.Review fromArthur M

I need to speak with them and they will not return my call. They sold us the RCI membership and we can’t use it like they said. We can’t go the places we wanted to and the hotel deals are not as good as they told us. We feel robbed and we are paying lots of money to this. We want to cancel ASAP We put in so much money and can’t even use it. I called customer service and they always send me to owner services and they never answer it goes to voicemail. Then they will not call back. This is thousands of dollars we are talking about & we feel very ripped off.Somerpointe Realty, LLC

My partner and I regret our timeshare purchase from Tahiti Village Resorts. a $100 three-night stay—became a financial nightmare that we wouldn’t wish on anyone. The sales presentation was downright predatory. Marc ******* used pushy tactics, fake manager approvals, and false promises of “exclusive” deals if we signed that day. There were no deals—just a setup. He lied about maintenance fees, saying they’d be $75 per year, when they’re actually $75 per month with an 8% annual increase that compounds quickly, bleeding you dry. The hidden costs are outrageous and deceptive. We’ve already paid $2,566 without using the timeshare even once. Meanwhile, you can book a comparable resort stay for under $1,000 online—no long-term contract, no escalating fees, and none of the regret. The "appreciating asset" lie was the biggest scam of all. They tricked us into believing this would grow in value. In reality, it’s nothing more than a financial black hole designed to squeeze you for every penny they can get. They dangled bonuses and fake investment potential to push us well beyond our budget. Surprise costs? There are plenty. We were told RCI membership was included, but now we’re stuck paying $223 annually. That’s just one of the many unexpected charges they conveniently skip over until you’re locked into their web. The contract signing was rushed, shady, and deceptive. Hidden terms included perpetual maintenance fees that increase and can even pass to your heirs—trapping future generations in the same financial mess. Avoid Tahiti Village Resorts at all costs. Their entire sales pitch is a masterclass in deception. Don’t fall for their tactics—we did, and we’re still paying for it in both money and regret.Somerpointe Realty, LLC

Ah, Tahiti Village - where your "complimentary" Vegas stay comes with a FREE 6-hour hostage situation disguised as a "45-minute presentation!" Special shoutout to our assigned sales representative and his supervisor for their Oscar-worthy performances in creative fiction, particularly the part where they convinced us our $473.99 monthly payments would magically shrink like a credit card balance. Spoiler alert: they don't. Want to hear a funny joke? They sold us a timeshare with "lifetime maintenance fees" but conveniently forgot to mention the "lifetime" or "fees" part! Surprise! Here's your $1,434 annual maintenance fee, plus a bonus $223 RCI fee - because who doesn't love surprise bills? Oh, and those 20,000 RCI points they promised? Still waiting! That "free" 7-night vacation? Only costs an extra $1,400 in "booking fees." What a steal! They said we could rent it out for profit and let anyone use it. Just kidding - there's an $87 fee for guest certificates (another detail they "forgot" to mention), and mysteriously, everything is "fully booked" when you actually try to use it. The grand finale? After exhausting us for 6 hours, they rushed us through a "quick" 15-minute contract signing. Turns out what they called a "credit card-style" payment plan is actually a mortgage! Who knew? (They did.) Thanks to Tahiti Village, I've gained so much: crippling anxiety, therapy bills, and a monthly payment that's about as flexible as concrete. But hey, at least we got that "complimentary" stay, right? Pro tip: If you're celebrating your anniversary, maybe just get a nice dinner instead. It's cheaper than years of financial regret and emotional trauma. Save yourself the trouble and run - don't walk - away from this timeshare trap. I hear actual Tahiti is nice this time of year!Somerpointe Realty, LLC
