At Ariana Motors, we do take pride in our sales process and customer satisfaction.  Our prices are competitive, and we do not force people to purchase a vehicle.  In this case, there was some remorse regarding the purchase of the ***** and we assisted her with changing vehicles to something more to her liking.  We were under no obligation, and we did not force her to sign anything.  In addition, we provided a three year exclusionary warranty that covered all major component groups on the second vehicle for $1.  This warranty had a retail price of over $2,100.  We understand there may be buyers remorse.  In ****** there is no cooling off period, and we have made several attempts to assist on this matter.

I recently purchased a vehicle from this dealership. Not even a full day of driving when the car started to make weird noise. I ended up taking it to a mechanic which then confirmed the truck has a motor issue and motor needs to be replaced. I tried to contact dealership but they do not want to refund my down payment, I explained I no longer want the truck but they seem to not care.

We are happy to inspect the vehicle and confirm the diagnosis of the other shop.  We will make repairs as needed or required, up to and including an engine if that is the actual failure.  We do reserve the right to confirm the failure if any to the vehicle.  Please call us to make arrangements to look at the vehicle.

I went to Ariana Motors on January 14th 2025. I found a car that I was interested in. A salesman named ***** helped me. He had me do paperwork for a car I was interested in. He said I can put a deposit down of $1,000 (I have a copy of) and stated I can put more down in two weeks and then I can take the car. However he had me do paperwork for a loan with a bank. I decided I couldn't get the car due to I couldn't get my drivers license in time. I called to speak to someone and they stated I cannot get my money back or out of the loan. It has not been 30- days, I did not take the car home and I do not have a drivers license. So I am contacting the ******************** to see if I can get help with getting my money back.

According to our records Ta'**** ***** purchased a vehicle from us.  She stated she needed to get insurance, and would be back the next morning to pick up the vehicle.  She did not respond for several days, and then got cold feet on the purchase.  A loan was consummated and funded by a bank that required time and expense to recall or buyback.

I financed a car from them used it for approximately 9 or 10 days and something started going wrong with the transmission I took it back to them they said they had fixed it but it continued to have the same problem I took it to a mechanic shop and it seems like the dealership only put some type of putty on it to make it seem like they fixed it I dont want to be stuck with a car that doesnt work and have to pay almost $500 a month for it I would just like my down payment back and to break the contract with them

      Business Response

      Date: 01/23/2025

      Unfortunately, we are not able to take the car back for the following reasons;

      1.  When we looked at the car, it was almost thirty days from sale and there was over ***** miles put on since time of sale.

      2. We had already paid for the sales tax on the vehicle.

      3. The transmission was cracked when we looked at it, and it was an active leak that appeared to have been coming from the crack and was significant enough that it was obvious it was fresh, as the amount of the leak would have been evident from day one after the sale a month prior.

      4. Vehicles are sold as-is

      5. The report provided by Ms ****** to *** shows where we sealed the crack in order to stop the leak, and the transmission was still operational.

      6. As goodwill when Ms ****** came back to the store almost a month later, and even though the car was sold as-is and appeared to have physical damage to the transmission we offered to split a replacement transmission with her as a sign of goodwill.

      7. The pictures in the report provided by Ms. ****** also show that there was no evidence of grime build up or blowback that would be evident from an active leak and the car being driven over ***** miles with the leak.

      8. The loan was funded over a month ago.

As such, we are unable to unwind or undo the transaction.

Purchased a vehicle 03/02/2024 and by June 10,2024 the vehicle broke down out of no where due to the alternator. This business is selling knowingly lemons/bad cars in order to steal money from customers. They lie in order to make the sale to those they know are in dire need of a car. They know what type of business is being conducted and they dont care. I broke down in the middle of a busy intersection with my 3 year old daughter in 90 degree heat.

      Business Response

      Date: 06/26/2024

In response to ******************, we empathize with the headache and challenge of the alternator failing close to 90 days past sale.  An alternator is an electrical component that give little or no warning that it is about to fail, and there is no way we would have known that at the time of sale.  All vehicles are sold as is and unfortunately a vehicle service contract or extended warranty was not purchased.  At this time we are not able to assist.

      Complaint: 21887499

I am rejecting this response because: its ********. You selling a car with an old, faulty alternator is not my fault but I will make it my duty to ensure other people think twice before purchasing from your car lot. I hope you all sleep well knowing youre scamming people and selling lemons. **** poor business.

      Business Response

      Date: 08/05/2024

Thank you for the second attempt.  Please again look at the complaint.  An electrical component goes out 90 days post sale.  It was working fine when the car was sold.  If it was not working the car would not start, and the failure of these types of components shows up immediately or shortly after it fails, not 90 days.

Even if there were a warranty that could assist on this repair, not sure how the damages are $5,100 for an alternator.

I traded in a 2007 Hummer H2 with ***** miles which I bought from this dealership July 2023. I paid cash of ******. I took it in for trade in and feel like I was pressured into financing and when agreed on another vehicle with 9000 owed on new car. Its a 2014 Infinite Q80. I took it home and was told by mechanic the transmission was slipping. Plus I could not afford payment not to mention infinite transmission. I was never able to negotiate my trade in, they just put it on finance sheet and I didnt notice until later. They gave me ****** for a ***** hummer and I still owe and hummer was paid for. This all occurred May 1, 2024. I went back on the 10th of May and asked them to take car back that I couldnt ****** payment and transmission problems. I asked if theyd pay finance company back, take car back and give me the 10k for hummer. They refused. Gave me run around. I got divorced last year and was able to buy hummer. Now Im stuck with pymt I cant afford and probably repossession which then I have nothing. Im very upset and yes, my fault but Im the only one thats gonna lose if they take back car. *************** also said they do this type of thing all the time. They ripped me off on hummer and I didnt even know it until I signed.

      Business Response

We took your Hummer in on Trade, gave you a check to pay off the Hummer with your title loan lender and gave you credit on equity towards the Nissan.  All this is documented in the retail installment you signed.  We also made repairs to your vehicle as you requested.  All we ask for is the title to the Hummer you agreed to bring back after you paid off the title loan.

I purchased a vehicle on 1/19/24. 2012 Tahoe LTZ. The vehicle gave the appearance of looking like it was Serviced and passed their inspection as the salesman claimed. Salesman **** said the vehicle passed their inspection and had no issues. I took him at his word. But within 2 1/2 weeks I already have a major leak possibly from the oil pan or worse. Not sure where it is coming from. But it is pretty significant and when I spoke to the salesman today, 2/7/24, he told me the vehicle is sold AS IS. According to prior complaints with BBB, they offer 30 days 1000 mile warranty. When I asked, salesman told me no.

      Business Response

      Date: 02/07/2024

We empathize with **************, but unfortunately the vehicle was sold as-is.  We do not give a warranty at time of sale, but do have vehicle service contracts available for sale.  Any reference to warranty on the BBB site are not accurate for vehicles currently offered for sale.

Regarding the leak, we closely inspected the picture that ************** posted on our ****** reviews and it is obvious that the leak is very fresh.  When there is a leak of any length of time there will be grime or dirt that mixes with the oil dripping, and you would see dirt and grime build up on Mr. ****** vehicle.  There was none in the picture that was posted on Facebook.

Based on the volume of dripping on the ground in the picture uploaded to BBB, it does confirm a heavy leak that would have been noticed immediately at the time of sale, which further evidences the vehicle was not leaking prior to sale.

      Business Response

      Date: 02/16/2024

We inspected the vehicle and made repairs on purely goodwill basis as we do value good customer relations.

I had an oil change done on it I have pictures and videos of what the oil looked like . I had Ariana motors come pick up the car and fix it they said it needed a new motor and it would be in on Thursday , Thursday came it got delayed till Friday . Friday afternoon I got a call an they said the finance place revoked the deal . I call Bayside credit and Ariana motors was the one that revoked the deal an I'd have to take it up with their financial department . I went down to Ariana motors Friday evening and they said since I told the finance place that Ariana motors sold me a car with bad engine and that they were going to fix it, it revoked my deal. They said if I didn't tell the finance place what happened I would still have the vehicle

Unfortunately, the resolution with this sale is to unwind and a full refund to the customer.  We are not a lender and we assign the loan to a lender once a sale is made.  Lenders have time to process and fund the loan back to us.  ******** has decided not to make the loan, and is not funding the purchase of the loan.  They are a third party that we have no control over their decisions and operations.  As such, the best course of action is unwind the sales transaction and refund 100% of the down payment.  We have already discussed this with the customer.

On July 22, 2023, I entered into a purchase and financing agreement for a 2015 Cadillac Escalade with ****** miles on the odometer at Ariana Motors, located at ****************************************************************************. The total amount paid for this transaction was $61,116.72, comprising a $36,994.89 vehicle sale price, $17,451.04 in finance charges (including an extended warranty and GAP insurance), and a $1,500 down payment. What's noteworthy is that there were no service indicators or warning lights illuminated on the vehicle's dashboard at the time of purchase. However, on September 17, 2023, which was approximately one month two weeks (56 days) after the purchase, and with the odometer reading ****** miles (indicating just ***** miles driven), the vehicle's dashboard suddenly displayed a concerning message "engine overheating." I acted promptly, pulling over to the side of the road, where I noticed smoke emanating from under the hood. I promptly arranged for the vehicle to be towed to the nearest *************************** department.Subsequent to a diagnostic test, I received distressing news the engine of my relatively new vehicle had irreparable damage and would require over $15,000 in repairs. Adding to the gravity of the situation, the warranty department has declined to cover the cost and honor the warranty. This situation has been extremely stressful, leaving me with lingering questions. At this point, I'm left to ****** whether the odometer was tampered with or if the vehicle had a salvage history that was not disclosed to me as the buyer. It appears highly suspicious that the dealership is asserting that the specific issue afflicting the vehicle falls outside the scope of warranty coverage, particularly given the timing and circumstances. In light of the above, I kindly request a comprehensive investigation into the business practices of Ariana Motors and a swift resolution of this matter. My aim is to ensure that I am not unfairly burdened with the substantial cost of repairing a problem that surfaced shortly after my purchase and to address any concerns about the vehicle's history.

      Business Response

      Date: 12/04/2023

We empathize with circumstance of the *** needing a new engine.  Upon receipt of this complaint we reviewed our files and discussed the breakdown with our rep from the warranty company.  The engine overheated to the point that radiator fluid was mixed in with the engine oil and radiator fluid was coming out of the tail pipe.  These conditions indicate that operation of the vehicle continued after the it began to overheat as it takes a lot of long term heat to cause damage to the point of radiator fluid coming out of the tail pipe.  The terms of the vehicle service contract (warranty) like all others, states that continued operation while the car is overheating and causes further damage will result in the claim being denied.  Allegations of tampering with the odometer or it being a salvage vehicle are baseless, as the Carfax was clean and there were no brands for salvage for mileage.

At this point unfortunately we are unable to assist.

I bought a used car remotely after seeing it online. I relied on the representations on the website (photos and description) and from the employees, **** and ****. They did not tell me that there was any problem with the car shaking, and the photos didn't show that the driver side visor or the right front wheel cap were missing. They also did not show paint chips missing or a stain on the left, front door. I bought the car as-is, based on their representations. There was one time when they sent me a Carfax report for a car with another VIN number, and I sent them an email telling them that I was concerned about this. Then, I saw that one of the reports had the correct VIN number. I had the car delivered to me. The engine light immediately went on when I started the car, and the car shook when I was going very slowly or idling. I also saw that the visor was missing. The day after buying the car, I took it to the dealership. I bought the missing visor and wheel cap, and had to wait until mid-June to make an appointment to have the car fixed. The car had faulty motor mounts. Altogether, I have spent over $2000 on repairs to the car regarding issues that have been disclosed. Though I bought the car as-is, they had to have deliberately withheld information, and I believe they defrauded me. The dealership has yet to send me the title. I have received two DMV extensions from them. They say they are awaiting the title from Carfax. It makes no sense. I'm concerned that the issue with the title may have to do with the fact that there were two VIN numbers presented: One is ZFB-CFXDT9GP-******. The other is *****************. Also, the different Carfax reports indicated different models. I'm concerned that this issue, which they were aware of, is related to the title delay. They don't seem to be actually making any effort to get my title. They have offered to refund me for the amount of the car without shipping or repairs. I spent time finding this car, I want the car and title

I am rejecting this response because: while Ariana started to show good faith by promising to pay me for the parts and work I had to have done, I got radio silence when I asked them to send a check with my registration renewal. I appreciate that they are sending the registration renewals, and that they have started to take action on the title. However, I can't say I'm satisfied yet because I don't yet have the title.

We continue to push the auction where this car was purchased, and they are still working to secure the title.  Without clear confidence of the timing to get the title, we are inclined to pursue the purchase of the vehicle back, for the purchase price plus shipping and repair orders that have been previously submitted.

      Complaint: 20274394

I am rejecting this response because: while I think this is partially fair, I also put a lot of time into finding the car, I like it, and I want to keep it. I would like to know exactly what Carmax is saying so that I can get a sense of the timeframe so that I can make an informed decision about how long I am willing to wait to have the situation resolved.

Also, if the solution is to buy back the car, there is the issue about compensating me for the time I took looking for a car, having it shipped, and dealing with all of this mess.  I have spent at least 40 hours on all of it. I would like for Ariana to either find me a new **** of the same model and condition, or to compensate me for my time wasted on finding this car (at my hourly rate it would be $1480). I would also want to be compensated for a lube and oil change that I got the day after receiving the car.

I am rejecting this response because: This complaint has not yet been resolved. Ariana Motors has not seemed to make a genuine effort to work with CarMax to make sure that I have the title from the car they illegally sold to me.  They don't seem to have utilized an attorney. They give me vague answers or don't answer me. They promised to pay me back for their fraudulent misrepresentations of the car's condition but still have not.

      Sincerely,
