This vehicle is not paid off and we have a lien on vehicle.  As a courtesy (which is not required) we sent title to New Jersy for them to issue a new title with us still listed as lienholder.  Customer says New Jersey wants additional items that we are not willing to provide and are not required to provide.  We have nothing to do with his issue of not being able to registered the vehicle in a different state nor are we obligated to meet another states requirements.  We will release our lien for customer if vehicle is paid off and give him lien release.

Ill purchase the car a little over 30 days ago from the start the seatbelt was not working properly. He gave me 30 days to bring it and drop off and he will fix when I went to drop it off for the seatbelt. There was a gas smell that will come out of the air and make me nauseous and faint when Im driving I asked him to fix because it was a health hazard. He agreed to he kept the car for 24 hoursreturned it still had the same problem. He did not even fix the seatbelt. It is locking now, but the light on the dash still shows that Im not properly buckled in. I went and took it to get my own diagnostic and it is an airflow problem. Returned it still had the same problem. He did not even fix the seatbelt. It is locking now, but the light on the dash still shows that Im not properly buckled in. I went and took it to get my own diagnostic and it is an airflow sensor problem. The check engine light has also came on and I will not be able to get the car registered without fixing the issue first he is refusing to fix anything and I have not had the car for less than 30 days before the check engine light came on

We do sales vehicles AS/IS and as stated above in complaint the seatbelt appears to be working.  We did not notice the smell she is referring to however if she addresses her concern herself (as required by our AS/IS agreement) I would be happy to review her receipt of repair to make an adjustment on her account for an amount that I personally deem fair to satisfy this matter.

3 days ago on March 25th I financed a car from car Spot on ***************. Yesterday the motor blew up and it was not my fault. I went to the location I got it from and they told me there is nothing they can do for me. This is ridiculous. I either wanted my money back, a new vehicle, or for them to repair it. They told me I am out of luck.

Customer complaint was sent to old business address and we never received it.  I am sending a response back in mail that show that we immediately start to correspond about this case as soon as my company was aware of it.  Although I am sending my response by mail I will also give an explanation here.

Special Note:  Website will not let me respond online because complaint is **** as closed.  I never knew about complaint until it was closed because letters were going to are old address that we haven't been at in almost 4 years.

Response:  Customer purchase vehicle AS/IS and signed documentation stating that fact.  As a courtesy to customer we mutually agreed on a partial refund to dissolve customers contractual obligation to us which has been disbursed to said customer already.

Im disabled and have issues of understanding and comprehension problems. I provided knowledge to the car salesman ******, manager, and he is aware of my condition and sold me a car with a down payment of $1500 and a car payment of $300 per month. The car purchase amount is $7018.00. The car was rigged to portray as if everything worked and functioned properly. The very next day, the trunk did not work, the tail and brake lights were not operable at all, the dash lights in the car do not work, the radio was hanging out of the spot of the place it holds, the car requires a s**** driver to place the car into gear, theres electrical tape placed around the steering wheel wrapped around something else, the check engine light came on with a receive required light also, the manifold head is defective, the car isnt aligned, there is something wrong with the rack opinion, and it feels like if I might go too fast driving or have to go to a complete stop quickly that the car will break, there is a smell of gas fuels that are coming out of the vents in the car, this is a safety hazard and I feel like the car is more than a risk, the list goes on. This man ******, has told me there was nothing wrong with the car. But theres more than 15 things wrong with the car that was not told to me, the man doesnt want to fix or replace it. I was taken advantage of, ****** knew of my handicapped disability and took advantage of it. I would like a resolve, my money back or replacement of this car.

Information in complaint appears to be false.  Vehicles are Sold/AS and are not purchased based on the endorsement of sales staff.

      Complaint: 20879850

I am rejecting this response because:

The car is faulty and on the brink of breaking, I did not pick out this car. ****** did. Plus his response made no sense and did not address none of my issues of the car he persuaded me to get. He tricked me into thinking the car was okay to buy, while pushing papers in towards me for me to sign I did not understand. Im already incompetent which is why I get SSI disability. The car has almost ******* miles on it, the rack and pinion is tarnished, the car rattles and sounds like the wheel is about to fall off and break when youre turning into a driveway or going over a hump in a parking lot. I couldve been hit in this car not knowing there were no brake and tail lights on the car, that ****** confirmed and said the lights worked because he asked me to get in the car and put my foot on the brakes and turn on the signal lights. So I believed they worked I did not see for myself I took his word for it. Also, the dash lights on the car did not work and it has taken for my daughter to file a complaint with the better business bureau just for ****** to keep the car for three days after two weeks, with me and my granddaughter driving in the car, to have someone fix the lights after my daughter and myself made several attempts of trying to get them fixed ourselves. And also the trunk is still broken, the trunk has to be tied with a cord and shoe string that is not right and not fair. If ****** wasnt so money hungry and was as he said a ********* and did the right thing and replace the car, or give me my money back, to where I could do myself wrong or buy a crappy beat down car on my own for 4x less the value of the car, that would be okay, but hes too much of a scammer and using my religion and beliefs against me, to take advantage of me, just to make a profit off of me. He knew I desperately needed a car for me and my granddaughter and that i have no one to take care of me and had been recently made homeless. I see the car is marked over value and isnt worth what Im being charged, right is right and wrong is wrong. ****** knew what he was doing he just wanted to make a fast sale and make me another victim to his scams of persuasion. But my information is correct I have attached a car report dated November 14, 2023 to show half of the problems this car has that ****** willingly sold to me without my knowledge just to make a quick dollar. My daughter said he could talk the presidents wife out of her underwear if he wanted to, because hes good.

      My daughter is speaking on my behalf and has my permission to respond for me as a proxy, her name is ******************;

      Sincerely,

Unfortunately ****** has passed away.  We are unable to cross reference this complaint with a response from ******.  We will honor the agreement that customer agreed to at time of purchase.  If customer wants to return the vehicle we will dismiss the balance of loan with no further recourse.

I am rejecting this response because: I honestly still need a vehicle. Is there no alternative as to switching me into another car? Do I not get money back on this deal? I apologize for their loss. I still need a car though, its not right that I lose money and become car-less once Ive given all my money to purchase one I cannot use fairly or properly. I would like the vehicle switched or my money back. Thats what is fair.

      Sincerely,

      Business Response

Only as a courtesy we will sometimes take a vehicle back on trade if customer is current on their account.  We sometimes do that and zero out the balance on the existing loan and move forward.  Customer would need a down payment on a different vehicle to help cover the taxes and fees that would incur from a new purchase.  Other than that courtesy we extend in some cases, we will stick to the terms of the original agreement we have with a customer.

I am rejecting this response because: This response still does not answer the questions previously asked. I will ask if youre willing to give back 75% of the down payment and receive your car back, to where myself and this company move our separate ways and I can be free from this back and forth and little to nil progress process?

      Sincerely,

I put down on a vehicle in January of this year (2023) I immediately started having issues with the car. It broke down within the first month of having the car which required $500 in repairs, I fixed it on my own because the owner never answered and never gave me a call when I called the lot. Fast forward to June the car broke down on the side of the road and it was repossessed. I called about my belonging inside the vehicle, they told me they were going to call me back. I never received a call back Ive been calling at least once a week and spoke with multiple different workers there and neither of them has given me a any information on my belonging and where the car is located. I just want my stuff that was in the car.

Vehicles are sold AS/IS.  Customer is responsible for maintaining the vehicle they purchase.  Our protocol is for customer to bring in key and pick up personal items if they choose not to redeem vehicle so an attempt to bypass that system probably did not result in the smooth transition of any personal items customer may be referring to.  I will look into seeing if there are any personal items we are in possession of and we will contact customer if there are.  From customers statement it appears that vehicle may of been abandoned by her however in good faith I will do what I can to assist from this point.  This is the 1st I am hearing about it.  Thank You

I bought a car from this dealership. The car is a clear Lemmon. I was provided with a spare that does not fit all four wheels of the car. The car has a gas leak. It vibrates to the point it's unsafe to drive as I cannot see out of the rearview mirror. The power steering went out within a month of owning it.

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2022/09/14) */ Vehicle repossessed due to breach of contract (payments not paid as agreed). Consumer Response /* (3000, 7, 2022/09/15) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) Why would I lease a car when it is unsafe to drive? As stated within the first complaint, this car has a few issues with it. I then called Carspot and talked to one of their staff members (I do believe it was Harold), and told them I am not paying for this car anymore. This car is unsafe to drive and should of never been sold. This call took place on September 6, 2022 at 12:21 PM. While during this call I was asked to leave the car key in the car. At this point I did not feel safe leaving a car key in a car. Now my question for Carspot is, is that car safe to sell now? Did you have to put money into fixing this car? Business Response /* (4000, 9, 2022/09/16) */ Vehicles sold as/is. As customer stated and we confirmed, he was not going to meet his contractual agreement. Vehicle was repossessed due to breach. We have nothing else to add. Thank you
