I lived in a household with another person on the lease. 2 people, that's including me. Why is it, when I got evicted- that now all what's due and owed is on only my credit report? The other renter has nothing on their credit report. Why is that? That's absolutely unfair and highly illegal. I feel it's personally directed towards me and I'm considering it harassment. I will be moving foward legally with this and pushing it in motion.

I had rented an apartment at Crown Point as I had in the past and had nothing but problems. There were multiple leaks, etc. The apartment next to me leaked through the wall into my bedroom and got the carpet and my stuff soaking wet. When I called to have it cleaned up, I was told to just sleep with the window open when it was around in the winter and very cold. They refused to change out the carpet and instead told me that they were not going to renew my lease and kicked me out. On top of this, they gave me bad references that cost me other apartments forcing extra moving expenses on me and application fees, etc. I was told that I was denied due to the bad references from Crown Point. On top of this, they charged me hundreds of dollars for water bills when there were multiple leaks and overcharged me fees on move out. I want my money back and to be compensated for all the problems I have had. I always paid my rent yet I feel that I was retaliated against. This all has cost thousands of dollars and the negative references have been very damaging and unfair.

Maintenance team completed an extraction for her leak and this unit was walked by our Area Manager and he confirmed there was no damage to the apartment home. He did find 2 cats in the unit that she did not inform ** that she had. ********************* was asked to vacate due to false statements. The unit was left with a very heavy odor of cat urine which we had to replace.

I am rejecting this response because: The carpet had been soaking wet for days. This happened in multiple apartments. Also, this is Defamation of Character against me. I did not give false statements. The carpet smelled due to the water leakage. It was not sanitary. Also, they knew that I had the cats, and they had a companion animal letter for the cats. I have asked them to ***** and Desist yet they will not stop. I had a ****** deposit, yet it appears that they are trying to charge me more money which they should not be. I am asking for a mediator in this matter. Thank you.

    Sincerely,

I have attached pictures of the walk through done by Area Manager and the flooring was not soaking wet.

    Customer Answer

    Date: 05/15/2023

This is absurd. The leak happened in December and they did not come to take pictures until around February. Of course the carpet would be dry by then.  I have the pictures from the leak which I will be showing to my attorney to forward on to the proper people. Thank you. Also, why are they trying to charge me for damages when they know that I did not damage anything. It is illegal to charge more than for normal wear and tear.

On December 16,2022 at 9:30 pm. The apartment building at crown point in ********, ****** a major flood. And 6 tenants were told we had to move. Because of water damage and bacteria growth. And their is subcontractor on the apartment building 14. Then, apt manager transfer me to building 61A.All 6 tenants had to moved out. Accept for two tenants upstairs. For two days I stayed at a motel on late at night stayed for two nights. I have the receipt for the motel and movers , who helped me move. There is money owed to the tenants. Paid by the insurance. The insurance is paying the subcontractor and the tenants. Building 61A had building maintenance issues, I told *******************..It is in writing on my lease Contract.

    Business Response

    Date: 01/05/2023

One of our tenants caused a leak in B14 by kicking the wall and damaging a water valve. The *************** condemned the building. We moved residents to units that are available and waived fees. The adjuster exclaimed that the insurance only covers the building damage. they stated that the residents would need to use their rental insurance to cover personal items and moving fees. The lease indicates this on the Insurance Addendum. I have attached the lease with his signature that specifies and details that they only cover at fault building damages.

I have uploaded the addendum for the insurance we provide.

The insurance is not for personal items and only protects the buildings. We provided an upgraded apartment home for Shaman at the same rate of his previous lease. The building was damaged by an unauthorized resident.

The insurance company has reached out to Shaman on many occasions and explained that this insurance does not cover personal items.

The wording of the addendum attached is below, thank you.

I rented an apartment at Crown Point for my brother. When he moved out, I sent them a letter and a check. The condition for accepting the money was to close the account. They accepted the check and referred me to a collection agency. As stated in the BBB's Vision, "An ethical marketplace where buyers and sellers trust each other." How can one trust these thieves?

************************* is the lease holder and to our surprise he had several people living in this unit that were not on the lease. We received many red card violations from Metro for all of the noise and parties that occurred in his unit. The lease signed by ************************* indicates that anyone that is not on the lease should not be staying any longer than 10 days. The apartment was left in horrible condition as stated on the lease he was charged for all items.

This has absolutely nothing to do with my complaint.  Crown Point wanted $8093.47 in damages, fees and back rent.  I sent them a letter indicating that I would pay $5,818.47 which covered all of the damages, back rent, utilities and fees. The letter included with my check stipulated that  they knew that I had rented the apartment for my brother and  that they had collected over $15,000 from him.  The second stipulation was that my bother had to break the lease because of a physical and mental condition and there would be no penalty as per Nevada law.

If Crown Point objected to this amount and the stipulations, they could have returned my check. There was no force or threat implied.   They cashed my check and at that point it became an accord and satisfaction as per Nevada law.  By referring the disputed amount to a collection agency, they are in violation of the law.  They need to remove the collections or further actions will be taken.

    Sincerely,

    *************************

You have violated the lease by allowing a person to live here that is not on the lease as the lease states you are responsible for all damages the amount is still due, thank you.

Damages were reported in need of repair/replacement Months prior but we're continuously ignored then denied my report of damage claims on move out then charged an extra $550. Primary excess charges I want refunded is carpet replacement and bathroom sink repair as well as wall damage. Nobody will talk to me, crown point hangs up on me. Need help with all this.

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2022/06/15) */ Hello ******, your move-out statement was emailed to you on 4/05/2022 with charges for damages which include painting, flooring and holes in the dry wall. The balance due had now been transferred to the collection company which is *******. Please make any payment arrangements with them. Thank you. Consumer Response /* (3000, 7, 2022/06/16) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) I did not ask who is in control of accepting payment I said it was immediately taken to collections "already paid". And crown point will not help nor ******* to resolve the damages fee I wish to be reduced because damage was beyond my control due to old material and living in residence for 5 years. Business Response /* (4000, 9, 2022/06/20) */ I am unable to make any reductions your file has been send to collections and all disputes now go through them.

My daughter and I rented from Crown Point Apartments and moved out on February 26, 2021. When we rented, we gave them a $700.00 non-refundable pet deposit. When we moved out, they never provided a move out inspection due to Covid and poor management. They never contacted us about any money due. Then several months later we received a collection letter from *******. I have contacted Crown Point several times and also filed disputes through ************ for the ******* collection. Each time I have asked for a breakdown of the costs because I believe they are fraudulent. Crown Point refuses to even answer. ******* responds with a letter indicating the total with no breakdown provided or the reason for the total cost. Since they are unable to indicate a breakdown, this appears to be fraud. Several years ago, this happened with ******* with another Las Vegas apartment. After disputing for several months, I contacted BBB and they helped to resolve the issue. I think ******* is a fraudulent company that inflates costs in order to exploit renters and make a large profit.

    Business Response

    Date: 08/25/2022

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2022/06/09) */ It looks like your move out statement was mailed to you and then returned since no forwarding address was given to the office. The items charged are due to damages that were left behind to the flooring. I will email you the move out statement with all pictures that we have on file. Consumer Response /* (3000, 7, 2022/06/10) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) Thank you for your response. I emailed several requests for the information, so you were able to provide the request via email. Please explain the move out charges that you sent to me yesterday. As you bookkeeping system is confusing. We provided a deposit plus a $700.00 nonrefundable pet deposit that we were told was for the carpet because we had animals. I do not see the $700 deduction on your statement. Also, the carpet in the unit was old and there was old laminate in the kitchen and bathrooms. Isn't carpet replacement a part of general move out for homes with pets? What kind of product did you replace the unit with? Did you upgrade it? Please provide pictures and the square footage of the unit. Also, the flooring company that you used so that I can contact them directly. Thank you. Business Response /* (4000, 9, 2022/06/14) */ The $600.00 pet non-refundable fee is not refundable the ledger also states that we gave you a concession for $500.00. You received charges for damage which are $275.00 for apartment clean, $100.00 for painting and $2010.00 for flooring. Thank you!
