Great Basin Water Company is all but impossible to contact, especially if you hope to speak to an actual Human. Yes, I can call a number and wait on hold for some interminable amount of time, but I'm sick of the lack of customer service in today's services...basically, it means the customer has to serve the provider! Welcome to the age of computer tyranny, where you never get to speak to an real Human. I have an "overdue" bill of $.22 (that's 22 CENTS), and I'm not going to incur a bank charge just to pay it. Their website is a runaround, their information impossible to obtain, and I can't reach a living, breathing person to tell them to send me my next monthly bill and add in the friggin' 22 pennies. If they plan to charge me a "late fee" for the 22-cents, I'll carry the fee through every bill until I'm dead, that's how fed up I am with today's policy of NO SERVICE.

    Update:

Actually, the whole situation was resolved very nicely. They even credited my 22-cents, which wasn't my intention...I just wanted it to appear on my next regular bill. I wasn't arguing with the 22-cents, I just didn't want some "late fee" to be tacked onto it because I didn't want to jump through my bank's hoops just to send a few pennies. After an initially frustrating beginning, with proper communication everything worked out very well. I'm kind of ashamed I got angry with them!

Great Basin Water Co. finds it very difficult to respond to an alleged accusation, the zip code is in Italy, the amount of water bill does not match any existing customers names. What purpose does posting reviews if the claimant does not identify themselves to respond to.

I am more than unhappy with Great Basin Water Co. I happened on this BBB by accident and saw the reviews are exactly what I am experiencing with my water bill. I two, am doubled billed. As soon as I pay for my water bill I get a second bill in the mail. Between the two I now pay approx. double the amount I have been paying for the last six years I have lived at the same address. Went from 78.00 to 160.00 I am one person. I never use the dishwasher. I do one load a week of laundry. I use the shower once a week to conserve. I use bottle water for drinking, coffee, dog bowls. I removed all grass in my very sm yard a year ago, replaced with fake turf. I hardly water the plants. Most are dead now. When I complain to company, I get different answers that sound evasive with double talk. Always they are ready with excuses and their reasons why. All that matters to me is the amount every month that has doubled. I feel as if I am being "taken" by this company, who charges whatever they want. I am a widow, disabled, and fixed on social sec. income. What am I to do?

Great Basin Water needs to be investigated for there billing practices. I have been double billed for May and June of 2023. I have received 2 bills which reflect one amount but a different amount is charged when I make a payment. When I contacted them the explanations from the representatives has been completely different. The last contact made today 6/8/23, the representative said I should have been billed 4 times in the last 2 months for there alignment process. I am not buying the explanation., If they failed in there practice of billing why are customers being held responsible.

Great Basin Water Co. sent a letter to all Pahrump Customers copied below. We would be happy to help you understand the reason the for the multiple incremental bills. We will reach out to you today and provide a spreadsheet of your bill history, payments, consumption, start and end read dates early next week. Dear Great Basin Water Customer, This notice is to inform you of corrective action being taken to adjust your billing cycle. GBWC (Great Basin Water Company) bills currently reflect meter reads from a period of up to several months prior. To generate bills more closely to the date of our actual meter readings we will temporarily be sending bills about 2 weeks apart. As we work to align the dates of our meter reads with our billing schedule, you may receive multiple incremental bills. This is a temporary action to shorten the interval between meter reads and bill cycles. You will not be overbilled. While you will receive two bills close together, the read dates on the bills will not overlap. This information is available toward the top of your bill for easy validation. Once we've caught up, bill dates will reflect meter reads from the month earlier, stabilizing the billing cycle. With this new process in effect, water use data will better serve customers, supplying more prompt access to spikes in usage which could show a water leak. GBWC will temporarily cease all overdue payment fees during this incremental billing period. We apologize for the inconvenience and wish to avoid further confusion on our customers' behalf. If you need help with paying your utility bill, please contact Customer Service or visit My Utility Account to set up a payment arrangement. We look forward to offering an improved billing and payment process for Great Basin Water customers. Questions about your bill can be sent online using the My Utility Account portal, or by contacting Customer Service at (844) 694-4404. Sincerely, Sean ****** President Great Basin Water Company

We recently received a notice from great water basin here in Pahrump NV stating that they are reconstructing are water bill and will be sending two bills within the same month. This will generate an over billing of are water service. This does not appear to be legal and gives the appearance of an abuse of power. I would like the issue to be reviewed by consumer affairs. We are also being over billed by the electric company as well. There explanation is due to losses incurred for the purchase of electricity. The statement provided by the utility company has a past due amount that we were never billed for. This is a false statement that is use to cover up the over billing. The increases in are utility bills appear to excessive.
