on 8/31/2023 Mike from Custom Ironworks Sin City came to give me an estimate on a new gate. He gave me a quote of $3,250 and asked for a deposit to get the gate powder coated. I gave him and have a receipt for $1,700 down payment. On 9/13/23 I contacted him and said my gate was approved to start the job. He said sometimes it takes a week to get powder coated. He has been continuing to make excuses and put it off. Now he is not communicating at all and it has been 3 month's. It's seems to me my money if being stolen.

On Sept 26, 2023, I was looking for custom gates for our new home. I came across "Mike's" advertisement on Facebook Marketplace, and reached out. He was extremely responsive, and seemed knowledgeable and showed me pictures of some of his work. We then agreed for him to come to my house and give me an estimate. On Oct 1, Mike arrived in a red pickup truck (I have video surveillance of this meetup directly from my garage.) After looking at my gates, he gave me an estimated $1500 for two custom gates, and he only accepted Zelle. He said that he takes a deposit of 50% ($840) and that the work should only take 2-3weeks max. I sent him a Zelle payment right away, which is linked to his cell phone. This was how I got his number (our correspondence was through Facebook Messenger prior) His Zelle was listed under a business name called "Custom Ironworks Sincity LLC." On Oct 25th, I reached out to Mike for an update. He said that the gates were done but he has "one large job" before finishing mine, and that he will have "better info for me" the following week. On Nov 3, since I heard nothing back, I reached out again but with no response. I then proceeded to text his cell phone, with no response either. Nov 4, he finally picked up the phone and we had a brief conversation. Though he was non-apologetic, he stated that he should be able to finish my work by "next week". On Nov 13th, I reached out once again, and he stated that my gates were actually in the "powder coating" process. I found this to be unbelievable, since he had told me prior that it was ready, and that the delay was from a "big job" he needed to complete. I then responded for a new estimate time of completion and voiced my frustration and concern since he told me it would only take 2-3 weeks. He told me that it would be "sometime this week" and he was "waiting for response" from powder coating. Nov 16, I texted him again, there has been no response. I also made phone calls but directed straight to voicemail.
