We are sorry you are experiencing electrical issues. I've reviewed your service file, it looks like there was an issue with a GFI on 1/11/22 that we sent **** Electric to remedy, they replaced it. Another call was made on 3/21/22 regarding another GFI which **** Electric went out on, the cause of the issue was that the heat lamp that was plugged into the outlet was too much for it and caused it to stop working. The homeowner had indicated to **** that they were worried that water had gotten into the GFI which is what caused it to stop working, so the technician caulked around it just in case. In both of those cases it was determined not a defect of the home, we covered the bill as a courtesy. There was a note also in the file regarding a possible mislabeling of a breaker box and that we had sent **** Electric out to investigate that. The last note in there was that you had called on 1/11/24 in regards to not having any power in the hallway. I was told by the office that someone had spoken to you in regard to this. I have since asked the service team up there to coordinate with **** Electric to investigate the issue and they will be reaching out to you directly for scheduling.
Your extended 7 year warranty is through ******** *****, who built your home, so I am unsure of what "warranty company" it was that you contacted. However, I can assure you that they have your information as the factory had been out to your home for repairs on 3/18/23, which as you know, is was outside of your 1 year initial warranty period which expired on 11/24/22. For more information, you can contact the ********/****** Service department directly at ###-###-#### or reach the service manager of the factory at ###-###-####.

I ordered a custom modular home from Peaceful Living Home Sales, Ogdensburg, N.Y. on 7/30/2021. The home was scheduled for delivery October 4, 2022. On October 4th, 2022, I received a phone call from Peaceful Living Home Sales informing me that the delivery would be delayed. I was told the tractor trailer hauling half of the home suffered "a multi-tire blowout on the highway". The home was delivered to our building site on October 5, 2022. The final payment on the home was made on October 17, 2022 per contract. The total cost of the home was $182,841.00. On October 19, 2022 I emailed Peaceful Living Homes with concerns regarding some damages I had discovered to the roof shingles and roof vent. In November 2022, my contractor discovered significant damages underneath the home. He sent photos of the damages directly to Peaceful Living Home Sales. On November 8th, 2022, I requested copies of those photos from Peaceful Living Home Sales. The damages included several broken floor joists, broken water pipes, electrical wires and heat ducts. All damaged items were covered in telltale black tire residue from accident. Later, broken electrical wires within walls were uncovered and crushed heat ducts within the home. The roof suffered extensive damages, not all visible from the ground. My general contractor later took photos of the roof from above, and sent the photos to me and Peaceful Living Home Sales. The damages to the home were extensive. The damages were sustained from accidents sustained in transportation. The damages were not disclosed to me at any time by Peaceful Living Home Sales. In August, 2023 a representative from Cavco, the parent company for Commodore Homes, disclosed that the home had hit a tree during transportation to the building site. This is the first time I had heard this information. Peaceful Living Home Sales fraudulently misrepresented the home by not disclosing damages to us prior to the closing. PLHS attempts at repairs have failed to meet code.

Peaceful Living Home Sales has made several attempts to schedule contractors to address the home owner's concerns, however, the home owner had refused to allow us to do so. The home owner then obtained legal counsel in the matter and the matter is ongoing.

Peaceful Living Home Sales always stands by its commitment to the highest levels of quality and with respect for its many customers.

      Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

Please accept this email as my rebuttal to Peaceful Living Home Sales’ response to my complaint.

While Peaceful Living insists that it made “several attempts” to schedule contractors to address the defects in my home, this is an oversimplification of what actually happened. I initially submitted warranty claims, and Peaceful Living sent individuals on multiple occasions to attempt to effect repairs, but these repairs were incomplete and unsatisfactory. Moreover, documentation shows that my warranty claim was submitted on November 14, 2022, with a second request being submitted on December 30, 2022. Peaceful Living dragged its feet with promises of repairs that either never materialized or proved inadequate for many months, and during that time, I continued to discover new defects with the home, all of which made me understandably leery of relying upon Peaceful Living’s promises of repairs. It was only after several months, and realizing that Peaceful Living was not taking my complaint seriously, that I retained legal counsel, and my separate, legal remedies are being pursued through legal counsel.

I also disagree with Peaceful Living insisting on its “commitment” to “the highest levels of quality.” Such a commitment was not evidenced when Peaceful Living’s representatives accepted a home that have been heaving damaged during shipment (a fact that, I note, Peaceful Living does not deny). Nor was such a commitment evidenced when Peaceful Living’s representatives stalled, delayed, and failed to timely address the numerous defects in my home.

I have attempted to call the owner Peter three times, I received one voice mail call back and no return of other calls. I asked for his email from the ladies at the office however my email was disregarded. Purchased a house through them, everyone at the office is great and friendly. Service crew is AWFUL. Upon their first visit to the site they were smoking inside the house. We have cameras and reported it to Nicole the service coordinator at that time who said she would talk to Owners and crew and advised us to put up NO SMOKING SIGNS… how disrespectful to smoke in someone’s brand new home???… I have asthma personally and have hooked up an air purifier because you can’t really get the smell out still. It’s disgusting… second major issue…. I had to leave work early one day after noticing the crew left the front door open and unlocked and left the job site ( in the middle of winter when heat was supplied being lost along with our dollars. Also letting anything from outside come in) Finishing crew damaged items they worked on. The shower pan in the master bath we can not use because peaceful living keeps blaming the manufacturer saying it’s a defect when really it is not the manufacturer it was damage caused by their employees. Which anyone who knows anything about a manufactures warranty knows it is void by physical damage. They sent a professional from ******* to come repair the shower pan, in which he stated he can’t repair it because it was obviously whoever did the finishing work on the house dropped tiles on it or just didn’t care what they were doing and banged it up. He said there were several small pinholes through it and advised not to use it because water could leak through causing brotting to the subflooring. So we haven’t used it yet. Sliding glass door does not lock or unlock and has major condensation in between panels this was reported back in February when the house was first delivered. Apparently a new door was ordered. It wasn’t. Just got glass.

Response taken by phone:  I have been in contact with the homeowner and we have gone over her concerns. I have reassured her that we will work toward resolving the issues.  I mailed her a check for the air purifier and the door is on order.  We will install that as soon as it is received,  I apologized for the delays, many of which were beyond our control. however we will make sure we follow through.
