I asked this company to help me apostille my Certificate of Loss of Nationality. Before paying them, they replied quickly. Then it would take them more than a week and multiple emails to get a basic reply. The company never provided proof that they requested my apostille. After a month they told me the ******************* refused to apostille my document. They provided a Dep. Of State letter which is missing my name, has no case number on it and appears to be old. He proceeded to tell me that I need to ask the Dep. of State myself to find out why I got refused. The only contact form from the Dep. of State requires the tracking number of the request. I waited a whole week for a reply from ******, and eventually he told me he gave it to them by hand.On another Yelp review, the lady complains that ****** returned her death certificate without an apostille. My Certificate of Loss of Nationality is also part of passport records, like a death certificate. The ******************* eventually replied to me via email, even without providing them with a tracking number. They wrote me a letter which has my name and case number on it, unlike the one provided by ****** ********* of Apostille Please, LLC. They said that to request an apostille I also need to attach a notarized statement, or a statement of perjury. A third party like Apostille Please would have had to file an extra ******* this means they either didn't request an apostille - I still have no proof he ever did - or they did without the necessary supporting documentation.I paid this company $286.20 via ******, since I am not a US resident, and received no service, or proof of service. I am writing here to request a refund. I had to figure out what the issue is myself, and it's clear Apostille Please, LLC didn't apply for my apostille correctly, as they should have.I am going to upload the letter ****** ********* provided me. I am also going to upload some correspondence.Business Response

The client submitted a document that was subsequently rejected by the ****************** for authentication. We then forwarded to the client the information the government agency supplied us for the client to supply the proper documentation. It can be frustrating dealing with government agencies, but leaving defamatory reviews of reputable businesses because you're upset is not the answer. We cannot force the federal government to certify documents they deem improper. The client is free to supply the appropriate documentation to our office for resubmission.Customer Answer

Better Business Bureau:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# ********, and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:[Your Answer Here]
The company claims my document got rejected by the federal government for authentication. I believe this statement not to be true, because it is not the document itself that is the problem. I contacted the ******************* on my own, and I received back a letter illustrating the documents required to request authentication on a certificate of loss of nationality, which is a passport record type of document. In order to request an apostille on it, a notarized request (or a statement of perjury) plus a clear copy of the person's ID is necessary. The notary of this company never asked me for these documents, hence it is my belief that the authentication request was not made properly.
The information that the company forwarded to me and claimed to be from the Department of State, was a letter that was missing the case number and didn't even have my name filled in. It also did not have check marks on which documents were missing from the request. It was basically a blank unfilled letter that didn't provide any help. The company states that it is frustrating dealing with government agencies and that I'm posting defamatory reviews because I'm upset. The first part is wrong, because since I contacted the department of State myself, I figured out the process to request an apostille and submitted the request myself. It has not been frustrating at all. The second part I also believe to be false, since my reviews are backed by the emails with the company and lack of responsiveness after I paid them. Posting my experience and thought is my right, and not defamatory at all.
About not being able to force the federal government to apostille a document, I agree, but that is so obvious that it did not have to be pointed out.
So, it is my belief that the company did not file a proper request to apostille a passport record type document. This has also happened to another client which posted a review on Yelp, where they talk about the same problem. They needed an apostille on a death certificate and the document was returned without it. The death certificate is also a part of passport record type documents. The company claims I am free to supply them with the appropriate documentation so they can resubmit. The company never told me what the appropriate documents were, and they didn't know this. Hence why I am asking for a refund, since it appears it's the company's failure to request certification appropriately that led to my document no being apostilled. The company also never provided me with proof that they submitted the request and that they paid for it. A blank letter from the dep. of State is not proof.
In order for the BBB to appropriately process your response, you MUST answer the question above.
Sincerely,
****** ***** *****

*** is a liar and is incompetent. He sat on my federal apposite for a minimum of 23 days before submitting it. Then had the ordaistite to ignore my calls when I attempted to get the actual date of submissions so I could attempt to intercept it as it was being shipped to an address I was no longer receiving mail. Don't even think for a second to utilize ******************* **********************. The only reason I learned of the delay was after requesting the tracking information for 6 days, it was provided and low in behold it was submitted 23 days after I submitted to ******************* **********************. Please review my email chain in the photos attached to see for yourself.Customer Answer

I corresponded with a representative for this company over email on August 20th of 2022 to inquire about their service. All business was conducted over email. At no time was I referred to any website or outside source of information beyond the person I was corresponding with.I was told their expedited service would take 4-5 days, and was $200 more than the regular service. I paid for the expedited service because my situation was time sensitive. The service ultimately took 7 business days to complete. Since this was more than the quoted time frame, I asked for a refund of the $200 upcharge for expedited service, since I did not receive the service within the time frame I was promised. They refused to give my money back and told me their website contains a disclaimer about time frame, but I was never referred to any website nor was I given any kind of warning that the service may take longer than I was told. I was never informed of any potential delays, nor did I agree to any stipulations. I agreed to pay the extra charge under the pretense that it would take up to 5 business days. I am happy to pay for the service itself, but since it took longer than promised I would like the extra money, that I paid specifically for the 5-day service, to be returned to me. Please note the dates on the attached screen shots of our email correspondence.Initial Complaint
