1 starCharging me for a cell phone that I turned back into them less than 1 week after getting it. They have harassed me about the phone bill since January. The phone was sent back In December. Now they are threading to hurt my credit and turn me over to collections. I have called many times but they will not accept the fact that I dont owe the bill. Never use them again .Review fromJUDY B

1 starI had been a customer with optimun for over ****** and have had the worst experience, internet constantly going out, poor service, techs don't do their job and don't know what they are doing. On May the 7 when I turned on my computer I learned that the modem was completely dead. I called them and they ran tests and they determined it was not working. They told me that they could not get someone out until Sunday to replace the box, I told them I work from home and would lose 3 days of pay, they didn't seem to care. I then decided to contact another company that had recently installed fiber obtics in my neighbor and they were very pleased with their service as they too had been customer of Optimun. I took down the "dead" modem to the local store and told them I wanted to cancel because the modem was no longer working and it would take them too long to replace. The gentlemen behing the counter told me I had to call to cancel which I did. They did every thing in trying to get me to keep them as my cable provider. The one man I spk to said he could have a modem out there the very next day and give me 3 months of free service, so I asked if you had someone that could come out the very next day, why when the modem was completely dead, had to wait 3 days. To make a long story short, I paid the account current to the 16th of May and felt I was due some money back, especially since the modem was not working. The supervisor that called me back told me they were not goint to refund my money because I cancelled and also because I did not accept their retention offer. I have decided to file a claim in JP Court for the physical and emotional stress they have caused. I am 76 years of age and currently recovering from a fractured ankle, so walking to the store that has a curb and the continued BS they were giving me was stressful. I have read the other complaints and cannot believe what I have read but now I feel I am not the only one that has been delt this wayReview fromMadison R

1 starI've been paying $106/month for 1 gig internet with Optimum for over a year. Recently, I found a different provider offering the same speed for just $40/month. I called Optimum on 5/6/25 to cancel my service effective 5/9/25, which is the last day of my billing cycle. I made this clear because I understand Optimum doesnt prorate partial months, and I didnt want to be charged for an additional cycle.During the cancellation process, I was transferred multiple timeseach ***resentative trying to get me to stay by offering lower rates. I ***eatedly stated I wanted to cancel, not negotiate. After a lengthy call and about 30 minutes on hold, I was finally told my cancellation would be effective 5/9, and Id receive a $15 refund due to a credit on my account. I was also told ** receive a confirmation email. The next day, I hadnt received the email, so I called back to confirm. Thats when I was told my cancellation was set for 5/11two days into a new billing cycle. I was assured I wouldnt be charged for the extra days, but I would not receive the $15 refund. Based on the timing, it feels like the cancellation was intentionally pushed to 5/11 to avoid issuing the refund.I pointed out that calls are recorded and that a *** had confirmed the 5/9 cancellation date and the refund, but I was told they would not review the call. Its extremely frustrating that Optimum makes it so difficult to cancelforcing customers to stay on the phone for over an hourand then seemingly manipulates the cancellation date to their advantage. This company has the worst customer service I have ever experienced... stay far away!Review fromKatie W

1 starToo bad that I cannot give them ZERO stars! This is the most "CORRUPT" company that I have ever dealt with in my "LIFE"! Every year you have to negotiate a new subscription with them and they raise your fees exponentially with every passing year! I spoke with "4" Supervisors and they all were agreeable with me about a "Fair" subscription and told me they would have to transfer me to a different department and that if we got disconnected they would call me right back and each and every one of them NEVER called me back. They overbilled me for different months and even shut off my service for disputing the charges and I was left without the Internet, TV, Phones without any prior warning! In order to put the service back on again they charged me $100.00 the same day that they removed the service! This is the most "CORRUPT" company I have ever dealt with. I am trying to permanently get rid of them after being a "loyal" customer for over 25 years with them! They should be "Out Of Business"! We need a class action lawsuit against this company as I am sure there are many more "Horror Stories" against them!Review fromCathy U

1 starLess than one star, a minus 5 if it was possible. Internet and TV kept cutting out. Price is outrageous. So, we called and the customer service person offered a $10 discount for 12 months; woo hoo, a whole $120 for a year. They do not care that you will switch providers and customer service to cancel is a joke. They keep putting you on hold and then act like they don't understand what you are saying. WE WILL NEVER use them again.Review fromKathryn L

1 starDue to multiple connectivity problems, our family decided to change internet service providers once ******** began providing service in our area. Canceling our Optimum service has been a 60 minute process. You must call to cancel, suffer through sales pitches and endure multiple holds for unclear reasons. The hassle factor is insulting and completely reinforced my desire to never work with this company again.Review fromLee J.

1 starI have Optimum ******** and ***************** The service is horrible! The signal is interrupted or poor almost daily. Often it is not available. Such was the case this past weekend and the previous weekend. The previous weekend was the **** final four tournament, which I was unable to watch because the Optimum service was unavailable. This past Sunday was the final day of the Masters golf tournament, which once again I was unable to watch since their system was down all day until after 2:00 AM Monday morning. This company should not be permitted to do business in the State of *****.Review fromStephen M

1 starI get the bill on the 10th of every month. Optimum expects payment by the 15th. If you don't pay by the 15th it's a $10 penalty. *** really? Such a shady billing practice / scam - going to ditch them by the end of the year.Review fromKelly M

1 starI can't begin to share the horrible way this company treats customers..I called in January to try and get my bill lowered and spoke to a representative and he got it lowered about 20 bucks but the very next bill it was raised back up so I called again and tried to explain it to a different person and they lowered it again, well this month I got a bill and not only was it raised back up but had a 10 late fee and a threat about disconnect....I am never late paying their outrageous bill so I called them again and spoke to one guy and he said he would remove the late fee but I said that's not going to cut it so he transferred me to another guy and after an hour of trying to explain to him and how I'm tired of being lied to by a different representative everytime I call he finally told me a price and I paid it the next day...this is the most unprofessional company I've ever dealt with...they keep raising prices without offering more for your money...instead they take channels from us...we just lost METV which is one of the best they offered...so no more Svengoolie on Saturday nights...I wish we could have better choices with cable...I'm retired,on disability and don't have internet so I depend on tv...
