My wife hired **** plumbing and air a few months ago to repair an issue in regard to our sink, they performed work and swapped out several parts, and charged us 600. Less than a few days later the same issue occurred in the same spot, the company had told us that the issue was resolved yet it reoccured which then caused mold damage underneath our sink.

    Business Response

    Date: 10/28/2022

Original call came in 8/18 that she had a leak under her sink:

We were onsite, she already had a bucket under the sink and water damage forming then, my tech replaced the emergency shut off valve, tested it out and left.

A month later 9/15 , I got another call from her stating that the sink was leaking.

We had a tech come out under warranty call (no charge for call) and they advised that it was leaking from another spot on the faucet and the recommendation would be to have the faucet replaced.

This is a complete different part then was originally replaced and has nothing to do with each other, the valve goes to the shut off the water and the faucet itself we advised to replace it to fix the leaking issues.

I explained this to the customer, and she advised me that she would find someone to do it cheaper.

It was the last I heard from her about replacing the faucet.

    Thank you,

On 3/30/2022 I made a Cash Deposit of $1,000.00 to have a whole home water softener system installed. The vendor was to provide equipment, parts, and labor to complete the job. On 4/4/2022 they returned to complete the installation and I paid the balance of $1,390.84 for a total of $2,390.84. On 4/8/2022 I found the system/equipment was faulty and flooded my basement. I had to shut of all water to bypass the system and called the vendor to come replace the system. They responded and came on site to confirm. They said the equipment was faulty and they would order a replacement. On May 23 I contacted the vendor again for an update on the replacement which they said was on backorder and should arrive on 6/27/2022. On 6/30/22 I tried contacting the vendor daily with no response. Upon calling the technician directly, he said they closed the office and there was nothing he could do.

On 3/30/22 **************** called us out to install a customer supplied whole house water filtration system, our techs arrived and advised **************** that the one that he has purchased and was cracked, and they are unable to install the customer supplied unit. **************** advised that he wanted the techs to provide the unit, the techs provided **************** with an estimate which he accepted. We ordered the materials and came back on 4/4/2022 to install the unit that we had ordered and supplied. Techs tested out the unit and found that the unit is working, and it might take a day or so to get clear water. The rest of the monies were paid, and customer had signed off on the job. Our company 1-800-Plumber + Air has not heard anything from **************** since we were out to install the whole house filtration system. He advised that he spoke with the technician directly, the technician did not advise the office staff or the plumbing manager that the unit is faulty, and we needed to order replacement parts, or provide a warranty on the unit. If the issues were brought to office level or management level, it would have been taken care of right away. The technician that **************** has reached out to, no longer works for 1-800-Plumber. We want to get the issues resolved. I will have the plumbing manager/office coordinator reach out to **************** to get the issue resolved right away.

    Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# ********, and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

I have phone logs and text messages that prove I have called multiple times and happy to provide. I have spoken with the office as well as the technician. Recently, 1-800-Plumber + Air long island has stopped answering the phone. Hence why I called the other locations seeking assistance and was eventually forced to file this claim in effort to find a resolution.

Timeline of events: On April 4 the unit was installed.
On April 5th 1-800-Plumber + Air long island returned to my house because they forgot to install the filter timer. They were informed about the leaking and made some adjustments.

On April 8th the device completely failed and  1-800-Plumber + Air returned once again. I wanted to make sure this got resolved so I called the manufacturer to help the  1-800-Plumber + Air  technician troubleshoot the issue. It was found an internal part would need to be replaced and the manufacturer offered to ship the parts overnight as well as credit  1-800-Plumber + Air $100 for the service call.  1-800-Plumber + Air elected to decline this offer and suggested replacing the whole unit. It was agreed to avoid changing internal parts and potentially introduce other issues on a new system and they were to order a replacement.
On May 24 1-800-Plumber + Air long island told me the replacement was back ordered with an arrival date of June 27th due to supply chain issues.
On June 30th I started trying to contact 1-800-Plumber + Air but have been unsuccessful. Again, why I was forced to file a claim. 1-800-Plumber + Air claims they want to get the issue resolved right away but I wasn't contacted until July 22nd by ***************************. She advised me she would look into it but needed a few days as she was out of the office.  I eagerly await her return and help resolving this issue as I have paid in full yet been unable to use the system for months.
