06/09/2023 took car in for a recheck of the engine light and to recheck the a/c. The original date taken in was a little prior to 06/09/2023. Took car in for an oil change, to check whats wrong w a/c (blowing hot air) and for a check engine light (to figure out whats wrong). Prior to 06/09/2023 was told a/c good and fixed, check engine light was good and taken care of. I had to take in 06/09/2023 because both the a/c and check engine light problems still persisted despite being told both were taken care of. This time on 06/09/2023 paid for a part they said should fix the check engine light this time around and they stated how the machine didnt fill the a/c fluid correctly. Was told both issues again taken care of. Both issues remained. I took it back again two times separately to again fix both issues and again both issues werent taken care of. So at least 3-4 visits for the same issues that were paid for and parts paid for but neither issues resolved. The last visit I was told I need an air compressor which would cost $750 plus. But I was told multiple times there nothing seriously wrong but magically after evaluating the car at least 2-3 times now they can tell the air compressor is no good but why was it never checked if the issue was with the a/c, wouldnt that be a part of trouble shooting the issue ? Why did it take multiple trips and more money and now I feel like Im being roped into even bigger sums of money. The check engine light still on , it was never fully evaluated and I wasnt told whats wrong for it to be on. The shops mechanic uses a machine to turn the light off but it goes right back on shortly after leaving shop. Every time I took it in they see the check engine light on and say its fine its a sensor but never told me why its on or whats wrong with it YET I PAID FOR IT yet it still remains on. After multiple visits. I paid for two issues not taken care of.Inv #****** sold to ************************* invoice information for 06/09/2023

Customer first came to the shop on 6/6/23.  On that day stated having the following issues:

      1) Vehicle was overheating - was determined vehicles coolant hose and hose connector was damaged and needed to be replaced

      2) Oil Change - Performed without any issues

      3) AC ********** ************ consists of putting Freon into the vehicle and testing for any leaks, which was performed without any issues and system was blowing cold air subsequent to service performed.

It was also recommended to the customer that he change the right front lower control arm, which was declined.

Customer came back to the shop on 6/9/23 - on that day stating the following:

      1) Check Engine light on - Diagnostic was performed pulling vehicle codes that indicated the evaporator purge valve needed replacement

      2) Recheck AC  -  Rechecked the system, informed the customer that the air is blowing cold from our perspective but it they continue to have any issue it may be indicative of the  a/c compressor going bad.  Did not charge customer for this but informed that it may be a sign that the compressor is going bad.  (normal procedures/protocol).  We don't just upsell parts and jobs to customers.  We only look to inform when a part of the vehicle truly requires replacment.

Customer came back to shop 7/8/23 - One Month Later.  On that day stating the following:

      1) A/C Blowing hot. - Upon review the Compressor was not operating and the recommendation is that it needed to be replaced and it ultimately went bad.

Overall the compressor appeared to be declining and ultimately on 7/8 when we looked at the vehicle it was determined to finally be bad.  On prior days, the compressor did not give us any indication that it was bad as cold air was operating efficiently in the vehicle.

A quote was provided to the customer the have the compressor fixed.  This work for the compressor was not performed.

We performed the viable services to this vehicle and believe all charges to be properly warranted.

      Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# ********, and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

      [Your Answer Here]

This shows that I indeed took it in earlier to the very same shop 3 days prior. I had my car towed there when I had a overheating issue but that doesnt change the fact that I paid for a check engine light to be removed and they provided a solution I was told would take it off the dash yet the check engine light to this date is still on the dash . And instead of actually re checking the car on the 9th like they shouldve they just used the machine to clear the code so there is no real known issue just a check engine light that they claim to have fixed w a clasp but is literally still on the cars dash to this day. No one has time to keep bringing in a car back to back or the money to keep bringing a car back to back. Maybe some people but I dont have the privilege of just spawning money so I dont appreciate the implication that it was somehow my fault in between the time it took to come up w the money to take the car in for a THRID time to take care of issues I keep being told are taken care of. IF THE ISSUE WAS NEVER REALLY FIXED DO NOT CLAIM IT IS TAKEN CARE OF. And as the gentleman kindly stated in his reply, I took it in 3 days after to get the a/c reevaluated . Cause it was blowing hot air. Again. After they claimed to have fixed the issue NO AIR COMPRESSOR DEGRADATION EVER MENTIONED in either visit. Told it was fine and good to drive and to bring it in again in case of any problems.  Yet every time I bring it in to the shop the lackadaisical and nonchalant attitude towards the issue they claim to have fixed is appalling. The very same day the first time I took it in for the a/c evaluation it was blowing hot air and I stated that. It was towards closing that day so I was told to bring it in the next day so they can re check. BOTH TIMES the mechanic whole time sighed as if Im dumb and the air was fixed and to his surprise tho was shocked to feel hot air on his just completed work. So is it incompetence of the employees or is it the nonchalant attitude towards the issue ?? Money was paid and the a/c unit still doesnt work. Money was paid and for the solution to the check engine light that u clearly stated would take off the light and have it cleared from the dash and I still have a check engine light to this day . Deplorable business behavior to implicate its somehow the customers fault and problem that the car still has issues when I clearly bought it in multiple times and the issues were never handled.

And the over heating issue is completely separate from the a/c issue because when I bought it in for the a/c issue it was for a oil change and check engine light it had nothing to do w the heating issue. I had to have the car towed and was only able to take car of the over heating issue at the time so these are all separate occasions and shows again i have taken the car here trying to fix it over numerous visits where the business claims to have handled the issues but after more money and time being spent are still not handled.

On 5/2/2022 at 217 pm, I phoned Coop City Tire and informed them that the Monroe struts and shocks that were installed by their shop needed to be replaced. I stated that the parts were under warrantee. The man immediately responded that they were not. I stated that I was told they were, prior to authorizing the replacements. I decided to call back later and speak to someone else.At 2:25 pm I called back and spoke to ******. She also denied that the parts were lifetime warranted. She said she would try to find out more and would call me back. She did not.On 5/3/2022 I called again and asked for ******. I was told was not at work today.

The Customer called our location asking about a warranty on Shocks that he had installed.  The current business has been at this location since January 2020.  In our response to the customer we informed him that our auto part dealers provide 12 month / ****** miles on parts and that we are not aware of any such warranty.  We informed him that we're not aware of any lifetime warranty as we don't have any suppliers that provide that coverage. We communicated to him that any stated warranty would come from the company if it applies and he should speak with the Manufacturer.  We're just an independent repair shop.  looking at the invoice this was appears to be done in 2016, part of this stated process.

Also the attached invoice is from the predecessor of this location so we have no background behind a lifetime warranty.  We recommended that he reach out to the company to see if they have such warranty and see if they will honor what he's asking us to do.  We have no history or knowledge of any lifetime warranties our my manufacturer give 12 months / ****** miles.

We're Always looking to provide customer satisfaction but in this case we're not in a position to as we don't have the history, nor the supplier regarding this.  If he can provide something from the manufacturer that supports what he states and what they will provide him with replacement costs and parts, (part/labor, etc) From our end we have to be able to be properly compensation as this alleged warranty is from the manufacturer.  That's our understanding on how warranties work.  It is with whoever provides that coverage, which unfortunately is not us.

[Your Answer Here] The current business has been at this location since January 2020.  I dont know what they mean by the current business.  Are they denying that they are Coop City Tire?

It is not the responsibility of the customer to reach out to any company but that of shop.  I did not supply parts, nor did I install them.  I paid the shop to do that.

Monroe shocks and struts come with a lifetime warranty.  The customer did not purchase the struts or shocks.  The shop was paid to supply the Monroe shocks, and struts, which they then installed into the customers vehicle.  The shop is responsible for any necessary contacting of the manufacturing company.
