Good morning Sir I am hoping and praying to get my furniture and personal belongings back from this company. Four links logistics through Movroad express picked up our entire household and valuables and placed them in storage somewhere in ******** to be delivered when we found a home. We have paid them every month $400 since July 21st 2021 and they have accepted our payments. However they have stopped corresponding with us and their phone number is now unavailable. We have tried every available means to contact them to no avail. We are now getting desperate and hoping you will be able to help us locate our precious valuables. If this would help the ******* number is ******* and the Mc is *******. ********************** is also not answering our calls. We are at a roadblock. Please could you help us proceed so we can track down our valuables.

I hired "Four Links Logistics" as my mover in Nov 2021 for my move from ** to CA. They are a broker and brokered it out to "Jeff's ******** which is a rogue mover, even though the sales agent ***** assured me that the company they work with was very reliable. First of all, they were late on the pick up day and didn't bring enough people. My husband had to help a lot. Second, they are supposed to deliver my goods on 1/15/2022. But they have not delivered my goods and they are holding them hostage, asking for additional $7000+ on the phone, without providing any written ****! The binding estimate price is $4000 and I paid $2500 already. My goods are still in their storage in NY! They claimed I had doubled the estimated cubic feet but that's not possible because according to **** of Lading, I only exceeded 8 boxes, which is not possible to be 400 cubic feet. Also the sales agent from "Four Links" assured me during quote that it would not increase the cost if exceeding 10 boxes. The binding estimate states that the goods are guaranteed to be delivered within 35 business days, and it's already 35 business days by February 7, 2022.As the broker, "Four Links Logistics" did not actively try to resolve the issue. I have called them many times, sent "Four Links Logistics" written letter but they don't respond. They claimed that once the job is brokered out, they are no longer responsible and just asked me to contact them myself!

As stated in the *** ***** message; yes we are a Broker and it was explained to *** **** that we, Four Links Logistics, will not facilitate her move.

As the moving broker we are the company that arranges for the transportation of our customer household goods, utilizing for-hire carriers to provide the actual truck transportation. Moving brokers are a sales teams that book moves and distribute it to our network of actual moving companies. ... Brokers do not have moving trucks or professional movers and therefore when there are any discrepancies we do reach out the the carrier on the customers behalf. In addition, we never leave it all to the customer. We also facilitate our own investigation and try our very best to find a resolution between both parties.

With that being said, I was brought to our attention that anytime **** ******* called *** ***** she hangs up the phone. We cannot possibly find a solution if **** **** doesn't want to speak to the carrier. Despite what *** **** has stated in her complaint, I have personally spoken to *** **** and she insisted that I speak to the carrier and said she did not want to speak with them. In that situation I placed *** **** on hold and personally contacted the carriers Office Manager and it was agreed that she would call them - that never happened. She never called and when they called her she hung up the phone. **** ******* is not holding your belongings hostage. In fact they are calling to deliver.

The fact still remains that *** **** had items that required additional space on the truck. As stated on the estimate that *** **** signed we make it very clear that the estimate is based on the inventory provided by the customer. The estimate also specifically stated that if there is any overage, there will be a charge. in this case *** **** had more items and unfortunately, the carrier had to notify the customer of these additional charges.

Four Links Logistics makes every effort to address all customer concerns. *** **** said she reached out to *** and called and nobody returned her call. I have emails and call logs where were have been in communication with *** ************** have since then dissolved our relationship with **** ******* and reassigned all jobs they were scheduled to execute.

I understand this does not rectify your situation but we are still in communication with **** ******* to get a timeline of when your items will be delivered.

We are truly sorry for the inconvenience and all the trouble this has caused.

      Customer response

      02/11/2022

      Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# ********, and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

The response above is not truthful. When they state that "every time I speak with ****** ******* I hang up the phone call" is simply not true. While I did hang up the phone call once because I was so angry, I never hang up abruptly in any of the other phone calls. In my last phone call I had with them, they told me there would be $7000 additional charges, and I requested to see a **** in my email which I never received. Then I told the women I had to end the call because I was in the middle of something else. Then I called back, the receptionist said she would call me back in 5 minutes but I never received any phone call. At this point it is quite clear to me that they are trying to hold my items hostage. Four links logistics also didn't respond to my formal complaint email nor did they make any attempts to contact me to try to resolve this issue. Also, every time I try to reach ****** *******, they are hard to reach. They kept saying the manager is not in the office, or "he will call you today afternoon or tomorrow", but I rarely hear back from him. I had tried two weeks to call ****** ******* prior to 1/15/2022 just to confirm my delivery status, and finally, one day before my requested delivery date I was able to speak to the manager. This is how hard reaching out to them is. It's because the difficulty of communication with them that I prefer to have Four links logistics to facilitate the communication since you are the broker who brokered the Job to them. I was never made aware what company you would broker out the job to after I paid the deposit.

****** ******* claimed my goods took up more than 900 cubit feet of space, which is completely false if anyone can do a simple calculation and deduction. They also claimed that theres $1000 for packaging and materials fee, which is extremely outrageous because almost half of the boxes and tapes were provided by ourselves. And even if they were indeed all provided by them, the price was way too high compared to market price. Given that they simply tell a wrong number without examining the facts, its natural to doubt the truthfulness of the additional amount of cubic feet. Whats more, ***** ******* failed to provide a written **** for those additional charges which makes those charges more questionable.

In fact, a closer examination of the **** of Lading will prove that its not possible for my items to take up 900 cubic feet. According to the **** of Lading, there are 38 boxes/bins in total. I didnt take a low cube shelf which was supposed to be in the inventory because I was told I was exceeding the limit. The original estimate has 30 boxes so I only exceeded 8 boxes. The other furniture remains the same as estimated. According to the estimate, the box is estimated to be med/lg PBO 18*18*24, thus if only exceeding 8 boxes, there is no way the entire items can double the original estimated size, unless the original estimate is wrong. Whats more, the representative ***** from Four Links Logistics assured me that if it were only 10 boxes, you should not be charged additionally during the quote.

According to FMCSA, If the mover does not give you a new binding estimate in writing, or agree in writing to convert the binding estimate to a non-binding estimate before your goods are loaded, the original binding estimate is reaffirmed. Under these circumstances, your mover should not charge or collect more than the amount of the original binding estimate at delivery for the quantities and services included in the estimate. 3. Your mover must issue you an honest and truthful freight or expense **** for each shipment transported . When your shipment is delivered you will be expected to pay either: 1) ******************************************************* 2) 110 percent of the charges on your non-binding estimate. Since no one presented me with a new estimate before, during or after loading, even if I called many times to clarify, the original estimate should still be binding. It is unlawful to request additional $7000 and hold my goods hostage now.

I now demand you to discuss with ****** ******* to arrange a delivery of my goods as soon as possible without additional charges. And it's already passing the 35 business days you guarantee in the binding estimate. There are daily essentials such as a mattress, TV, clothes, bedding, cooking utensils, toys, books in those goods, and now I have to purchase a new mattress simply to be able to sleep at night. This is causing great inconvenience and unexpected expenses for me. Won't this warrant some sort of compensation to me?

Last but not least, I repeatedly requested a receipt for the $1500 that I paid to ***** ******* via Zelle on loading day. I was told multiple times that I would receive it in email but I never received it.  I demand the receipt be sent to me to my email immediately.

In order for the BBB to appropriately process your response, you MUST answer the question above.

      Sincerely,

      ******* ********** ****
