Just BEWARE of false and fraudulent activity that goes on in this Sheepsheadbay location. They get you to sign up with lots of different regulations that make it very hard for you to cancel your membership. They do not tell you how hard it is to book a class, in fact MOST of the classes are booked well in advance, and only offer 'wait-lists'. However, what is really fraudulent in this location, is a fact, that you book a class, pay for a specific instructor thats listed on their site, just to come and have a class run by a 'trainee' who is still learning (under the watch of a real trainer). You are basically paying for them to educate their trainee. At that point you cant leave, because you will be charged for a class regardless. Nowhere in the 4 page contract does it state that 'trainees' can/will teach a class, nor does it state that on the site. The site clearly lists the instructor's name, duration of the class and a description of the class. That is what you are supposedly paying for.You are booking a specific instructor, but you do not have a guarantee that a real licensed instructor, the one you paid for will teach. I ended up coming to a class that was taught by a new "trainee", and I was told that this is a 'regular' practice for this club. I tried reaching out to a corporate office to address this fraudulent situation, but there is no email, no contact for a Sheepsheadbay franchise owner, nothing. You cant get anyone to get back to you, and they simply canceled my membership when I brought this up. Extremely unprofessional franchise and club. So be careful with your money ladies. I think when you book upfront a specific instructor, you are paying for THAT licensed instructor, their knowledge, personality and class. You are NOT paying for them to train new trainees with YOUR money. It is only fair to get what you paid for especially if their contract does not specify this 'regular practice' anywhere. We offer an amazing teacher training program, where members who LOVE Pilates can become certified instructors. These trainees teach 5 minutes of footwork in the beginning of class, not 15 minutes. They teach under the supervision of the main instructor. We LOVE supporting others in their careers. Separately, this members' membership was canceled as we do not tolerate harassment or vulgar language to our staff. We are a place of positivity where people can grow and change their careers doing something they love. We are sorry she feels this way.
