New era asset management. They call and harass my friends and family. They will no longer call and continue the harassment and call my ex employers for what ever reason. A person by the name of Chris P***** calls from *** *** **** and says my account needs attention. I filled a cease and desist on their (contact) us Paige. I do not care what federal law says. I know the definition of harassment and I also know my consumer rights and who I can contact if my rights are violated in any way. I want nothing to do with debt collectors.Business Response

Please see the attached email exchange. As mentioned previously Mr. ***** made a written complaint though our website portal at 5:36pm and had received a response to that at 8:18pm est. I regret he needed services of the BBB on a matter that had already been addressed. As a benefit to the consumer, the bbb and company I had asked David P***** to make suggestion to you directly improve the service using a timestamp along with the date of intake. Since its not uncommon for a frustrated consumer to file a complaint though multiple intakes the timestamp would allow us to state weather the complaint and how the matter the matter would be resolved rather than cause friction or possible confusion of why he is receiving another response on the matter. Without it the company is unsure if its internal handling was inadequate resolution to the consumer and a need to add detail to further attempt full resolution. This is Just a thought if it hadn’t already been mentioned as a way to overall improve the portal as I hoped would reach you a few years back.I thank you greatly for the reach out allowing us to prioritize this matter and allow a response to be issued. It was very important to me that a timely post was made. With the amount of email clutter it sometimes become a full time job just keeping up and organizing tasks received from email. Thank you very much!Initial Complaint

The people at this Company are very rude nasty and make really smart remarks every time I call even the supervisor, which was the worst conversation I ever had he was the most nasty person. There has no care in the world, making very smart remarks, and judging me for my financial situation, this company keeps on trying to steal money for me I left them a voicemail about 2 weeks ago. no longer run my card and I don't know where they keep running my card even though I left them a voicemail saying not to they took money without letting me know they refuse to send the money back the amount always changes on my account so I paid $200 and still want more from me they can't even get the correct information to write on my account they say I owe money to all these different places and I never done business with them. This place needs to be shut down.Business Response

I am writing on behalf of New Era Asset Management LLC in response to complaint #******** filed by Mr. **** ******. We take all customer feedback seriously and appreciate the opportunity to address the concerns raised. As a smaller agency, we take pride in maintaining professionalism in all interactions with our consumers. We believe that constructive conversations can often help resolve difficult matters, which makes our challenging work more manageable. I regret that this experience did not align with that expectation, especially considering we had two opportunities to turn a misunderstanding into a more positive experience.Upon reviewing the arrangement made with our office, it may not have been clear that the representative initially went beyond the standard protocol in an effort to assist Mr. ****** by facilitating an affordable repayment plan. However, in subsequent conversations, Mr. ****** felt that the treatment was anything but helpful. I currently lack some information that would assist in further investigating this matter. I would be glad to speak directly with Mr. ******, but despite an extensive search, I require additional details. I will leave my contact information below should he wish to reach out at any point.Regarding the issue of removing a previously agreed-upon payment, we simply request a 48-hour notice, which is a policy we expect to be adhered to and is not merely a courtesy. Since this complaint, we have tested all phone lines to ensure that all calls are directed to a voicemail that is checked daily, excluding weekends and holidays. At this moment, I do not have any information to explain why this was not handled properly but do not dispute Mr ****** claims either. We strive to provide clear and accessible support to our customers, and we regret that this situation could not be addressed more efficiently. The request for a refund was processed in full, and this credit was issued on September 4th.Thank you for your attention to this matter. Should you require any additional information or documentation, please do not hesitate to contact me.Respectfully,Sincerely,Tim H********PresidentNew Era Asset Management LLC ###-###-####Initial Complaint

New Era Asset Management or NEAM as it shows on my caller ID, calls and harasses me daily, several times a day. Most of the time the calls are from a different phone number and area code. The messages they leave are not directed to anyone. It just claims this is an important call regarding an account within their office. The caller does not identify himself nor, do ask for me by name. How am I supposed to know that these messages are even for me? I don't want these people to harass me, my employer or anyone that may be associated with me any longer. The phone calls need to end immediately. I do not believe I owe whatever debt NEAM is trying to pin on me, and I am doubtful they are even licensed to collect debts from consumers in my state as they are based in New York and I am not in New York.Business Response

This complaint is understood as calls were made from our office to speak with an individual who may have been provided a wrong number or had this number in the past and is no longer associated with the party we were looking to speak with. I can confirm the person we were looking to speak with was someone other than the person issuing this complaint. We thank you for providing an opportunity to correct our records and this number has been deactivated in our system of record. No further calls can be made. We apologize for any inconvenience created and wish we could have resolved this in a more efficient manner.

NO idea who this company is. calls from random numbers which i've blocked and get the same message looking for collection from someone who isn't me. I've told them to stop calling and they won't stop. It's harassment and have gotten these for over a year. If it was criminal for this debt collection company I would request charges for this harassment. In discovery I would request they pull my phone number and you would see over 100 calls.Business Response

New Era Asset Management, LLC has received and reviewed the complaint filed by ****** ****. We wish she had contacted us prior to filing a complaint, especially as her concerns are easily resolved. We appreciate the opportunity to respond about her accounts. In toward the end of January, we began attempting to service seven separate delinquent credit accounts issued to ****** **** for online shopping. However, we never spoke with anyone during our attempts to service these accounts. Nonetheless, we immediately began honoring Ms. ****’s request to cease telephone calls, and we will not call anyone further regarding these accounts. We trust our response completely addresses this matter, unless Ms. **** wishes to resolve her delinquent accounts with us. If so, she may call us to explore options. If she does not reach out to us, we will be returning the accounts to the current creditor.Initial Complaint

New Era Asset Management, LLC has received and reviewed the complaint filed by **********. We wish he had engaged in conversation with us, especially as his concerns are easily resolved. Nonetheless, we immediately began honoring Mr. ******’s request to cease telephone calls, and we will not call anyone further regarding these accounts. Continue to receive calls, some back-to-back, from number **********, from same man every time saying something about calling back about my account. The man does not identify himself and identifies the company, New Era Asset Management. I was not aware of this company prior and do not know what kind of account they have on me. Today, I used their "contact us" form on their website and filed a Cease and Desist letter at 12:08 pm EST and requested whatever information that have on me, past and present. They better not have, nor will, contact any family members. I do not care what federal law says. I know the definition of harassment and I also know my consumer rights and who I can contact if my rights are violated in any way. I want nothing to do with debt collectors.Business Response

New Era Asset Management, LLC has received and reviewed the complaint filed by *******
******. We wish he had engaged in conversation with us, especially as his concerns are easily
resolved. We appreciate the opportunity to respond about his accounts.
In early November, we began attempting to service four delinquent credit accounts issued to
******* ****** for shopping. We did not realize he had four separate accounts with us until he
sent us a cease-and-desist request, which we immediately honored.
Mr. ******’s written request asks for written correspondence and his BBB complaint asks for an
explanation of the charges. Accordingly, we will be sending a letter for each account, via U.S.
Postal Service, to the address he gave in his complaint. Meanwhile, we will not call anyone
further regarding these accounts.
We trust our response completely addresses this matter, unless Mr. ****** wishes to resolve his
delinquent accounts with us. If so, he may call us to explore options. If he does not reach out to
us, we will be returning the accounts to the current creditor.
Sincerely,
David G. P*****, Esq.

I kept getting harassing phone calls from this company all hours of the day even while I'm undergoing Dialysis. They need to stop harassing myself and my family members. I am medically prohibited and this harassment is effecting my health status.Business Response

New Era Asset Management, LLC has received and reviewed the complaint filed by ****** ******. We wish he had engaged in conversation with us, especially as his concerns are easily resolved. We appreciate the opportunity to respond about his account. In late October, we began attempting to service a delinquent credit account issued to ****** ****** by a lender. Our records show we only made one call, which was on November 2. Any calls prior to that time came from someone else. We do not place telephone calls at all hours of the day, but rather only during business hours. We never spoke to anyone regarding Mr. ****** or his account. We had no notice that Mr. ****** was receiving medical treatment, and wish him the best of health. We will not call anyone further regarding this account. We trust our response completely addresses this matter, unless Mr. ****** wishes to resolve his delinquent account with us. If so, he may call us to explore options.Initial Complaint

A representative from this company has called me 6 times just today, and my family members. The debt I do have I am already paying them off so. I have no idea what these people could possibly want I have nothing to say to them I am not sending money to them as I do not know what they are talking about. Where is my WET signature?Business Response
Date: 08/17/2023
New Era Asset Management, LLC has received and reviewed the complaint filed by *******************. We wish she had engaged in conversation with us, especially as her concerns are easily resolved. We appreciate the opportunity to respond about her account. On July 10, we began attempt to service a delinquent personal loan issued to ***** ************* by a lender. We are a collection agency and her account is owned by another company. Whereas we have never had a conversation with her, of course she did not know us yet. Although we have called various telephone numbers in hopes of reaching her or someone who could help us locate her, we never spoke to anyone regarding Ms. ************** or her account. Our records do not support her claim of six calls in a single day or any calls on July 31. So, we do not know what she thinks we are calling about or that we would not have a “wet signature” on the loan papers. Nonetheless, a “wet signature” is not required for a personal installment loan such as the one we were trying to service. Finally, we do not know what correction she would want to her credit report, but we would be unable to help her anyway as we do not report to any credit bureau. We will not call anyone further regarding this account. We trust our response completely addresses this matter, unless Ms. ************** wishes to resolve her delinquent account with us. If so, she may call us to explore options.Customer Answer
