    Pattern of Complaint:

    On July 7 & July 20, 2021, BBB contacted RootedinBlack regarding a high volume and pattern of serious complaints. BBB received complaints since April 1, 2021 alleging: A failure to deliver products in promised timeframes.

    BBB notified RootedinBlack. about the pattern of complaints and asked the business to voluntarily cooperate in eliminating the pattern by providing a written response outlining the specific steps it would implement in order to avoid similar complaints in the future. BBB also requested general information including the names & full contact information of the business’ principal officers and responsible management, the physical address of its principal office, and a completed BBB Standard Business Questionnaire.

    The business responded to the pattern of complaints with the following statement:

    We did not consider the issues with the global supply chains. It took months for the pots to be made and shipped from China. When they finally shipped, they got stuck at the sea ports in California, where they have been sitting.

      I purchased 5 planters on December 9, 2020 intending to use them as Christmas gifts. After several weeks, I reached out to rootedinblk and was told that they were experiencing a delay but that the orders would be filled. I accepted that response and decided that since I would not get the items in time for Christmas, that I could use them as birthday gifts. After the first of the year (2021), I eventually received 2 of the planters. I emailed off and on throughout the year (2021) expressing my disappointment and requesting either a refund or an update as to when I would receive the remaining items. The establishment ignored my requests for information and neither did they refund me for the remaining three planters at $19.00 each. I have heard nothing and feel saddened that they would bail on consumers. I attempted to support a black owned business and although I was willing to wait for the merchandise, it never arrived. I am due a refund.

      I ordered a product on 4/2/21 of which I never received. In May and June of 2022 I reached out to get a refund totaling $24.90 and have not received a response, a refund, or my product. I need a refund.

      Last year I purchased several plant pots from this company. I've yet to receive my order or a refund. I've sent several emails and no one is responding. I recently sent an email a week ago and still no response. I've always asked for an update on my order. Received nothing. Yet, the owner can post on Instagram (which is fine) but not responding to customers and fulfilling orders isn't. Please have this company send me my order. My order #**** Its 5 pots

      Order #**** I purchased 2 pots March 5, 2021. I have sent at least 50 emails. The bank wont even give me a charge back because it has been so long. The company kept giving a run around about shipping delays however never refunded me. They simply kept my money and never shipped any products. I sent an email 6/27 and the email address has now been suspended. I simply want the pots I ordered. This was a gift to someone and two birthdays have come and gone.

      On April 19, 2021 I ordered two pots from this business for my mom for Mother's Day. The order was confirmed and it said shipments would take 1-6 weeks due to high volume. On the 25th I received an email saying my order was processing. They sent out a mass email on April 29th saying that there was a delay. I contacted customer support in October and they replied apologizing and saying that I couldn't receive a refund, but could add a bookmark or magnet to my order for troubles. I contacted them recently using the email address given on their site and received an error message saying that the email was not found. To this day I still have not received my pots or even an update on where it might be at.

      The company took my order in May 2021 as of today, almost 1 year later I have not received my order, no refund and the company no longer responds to emailed inquiries. They have scammed me like many others.

      I ordered a pot from this company back in December 2020. They never emailed me a confirmation number, tracking info, or any updates. They have ignored emails I sent about asking for a refund as it is now April 2022 and still never received the item. This was a Christmas gift for a friend, which they never received. They have also limited their comments on Instagram and ignored a lot of people with no answers or ways to resolve this issue.

      This company never sent product I ordered a d paid for. After several attempts, they stop responding to my email and social media inquiries. They have turned off their comments on the ********* account because so many customers are frustrated. I am upset and at the very minimum would like to be refunded.

      Discovered Rooted In Blk via social media and made a purchase in March 2021 for one (1) planter pot. I received immediate confirmation that my order had been received with the money withdrawn from my bank account shortly thereafter. After witnessing the owner(s) verbal tirade on social media in which they blamed shipping delays and proceeded to curse out and demean their customers on a very public platform (Instagram Live), I became worried about the legitimacy of this company. After waiting a few weeks for things to calm down, I proceeded to reach out via their contact form on their website (May 2021) in which I received an immediate auto response from a bot stating that someone would reach out to me followed by a generic email echoing the same sentiments that someone would reach out to me with an update on my order. It has now been 12 FULL months with no refund, no update, no correspondence and most importantly NO PRODUCT. At this rate, it is now too late to dispute the charge and though a $25 loss will not impact me in any way, it’s the pure principle that I paid for a product that I never received which is why I am seeking a formal resolution. I have several friends who have spent far more with this company with almost identical outcomes and something needs to be done and the owner(s) should be held accountable in some fashion. It’s beyond frustrating to want to support a small business within your community to then be taken advantage of. Extremely disappointing.

      I placed an order with Rootedinblk.co for a planter for $24.90 including shipping on 4/16/2021. I was told there would be a 1-6 week delay due to high volume of orders. After 6 weeks I inquired and was told that due to the products being "handmade to order by our production team" there would continue to be a delay. It has been a few weeks shy of a year since I placed the order, and have received neither my product nor an explanation or time frame for it.
