    Anytime fitness in Canandaigua, NY is impossible to get ahold of. For months Ive been trying to reach them about cancelling membership, as have others. They dont answer or arent there. Yet there is still someone operating their social media which makes me think they are purposefully doing this to retain money they arent entitled to.

    A rep from Anytime Fitness called BBB and said that the matter has been handled by cancelling the account.

    I was a member of this gym and canceled my membership after the obligatory one year was up. After many months I received a notice telling me I had an overdue charge on my account that represented the yearly gym fee. I was charged this even though I was no longer a member. I have tried calling the club to resolve this issue, their voice mail is full and I have never been able to speak to an employee. I have emailed the club with no response. I have spoken to corporate to try to resolve the issue. Corporate tried to contact this club with no response. I also contacted the company they bill through to resolve the issue who told me my account was never in fact cancelled and I needed to contact the club to cancel it again. Again I am unable to reach the club. I showed up to the club and no employee was present. The billing company also tried to reach out to the club and was unable to reach them.

    BBB spoke with rep who noted that *** ********* showed that the account was inactive and was cancelled on 2/7/2023.

    During the pandemic, our local Anytime Fitness closed, so I called and asked them to please pause my account (which they did). Shortly after it was reactivated and I started using it again. However, I quickly discovered that the gym was no longer providing a 24 hour service that I had signed up for, but had restricted hours of operation to a narrow window. I called the gym and asked to speak with the manager and said I wanted to cancel my membership because it was not providing the service I had signed up for. The manager said ok and that he would cancel it and I was no longer charged and have not been charged for almost a year. Suddenly, out of the blue (,almost a year later) I suddenly get a notice from them that they are charging me again and if I don't pay I'll get charged late fees. I had to get a different membership after cancelling with them at another gym that is 24/7. I do not want to be charged by them anymore.
