JGP Construction did an amazing job closing in our existing back patio. John was very kind and worked with us in understanding the project goals and we reached an agreeable outcome. I would certainly use this company again for another home improvement project. Five stars for honesty, 5 stars for being on time, 5 stars for fair pricing, and 5 stars for genuine work.

I have to say what excellent work this company does. Johns crew installed my kitchen cabinets and did a tile back splash. They were very professional and cleaned up every day at the end of the day. I can’t express how happy i am with the work they did. My tile was custom tile, natural stone and it is beautiful! If I could post pictures here I would definitely! They are outstanding! I don’t know why the negative remarks as they excellent!

John’s response is extremely fallacious on many fronts. In the original contract he agreed to do both gas and electrical after doing a thorough walkthrough of the property with me and my mother. He knew what he was getting into, and had a perfect understanding of the scope. The problem lied in his lack of competence and integrity. Even the work that he completed was subpar, as the trim around many doors was ill-fitting. He’s an amateur at tile, electrical, and gas work. The contractor we brought in after him had to fix MANY problems and we have both picture and video proof of the many errors that he made. John essentially left the project worse off than when he started, and the backsplash he put in my kitchen is not even grouted. I could have done a better job myself. I spoke to him kindly and professionally to avoid conflict while he was on the job, but until a professional and competent contractor continued the job I didn’t know the full extent of his poor work. This doesn’t even begin to get into the changing the scope of the project, attempting to double charge for work that hadn’t even been completed, and his inability to search for any materials that were on site. Everything in the project was sitting in my living room, and he would often ask me to find things for him that I would proceed to find within seconds. I’d describe John as dishonest, incompetent, and lazy. He shouldn’t have even received a second draw because the only work he did up to standard was half of his trim. This man is a fraud who I wouldn’t recommend to ANYBODY.

JGP Carpentry and Construction performs shoddy work and leaves more damage than they repair. I would leave zero stars, if I could. I paid them $8,500 and spent over $4,500 on materials to complete some trim, electrical, and finish out a kitchen and powder room. The principal of the company is dishonest, and we are litigating against him. I highly recommend you avoid this contractor at all costs. He installed a leaky gas line, faulty electrical wiring, door trim that was not plumb and had to be completely ripped out down to the studs and re-hung, and the worst backsplash tile installation I have ever seen. He also broke brand-new lighting fixtures and a microwave (at a cost of $750), and then tried to file a mechanics lien after he failed to complete the work. He is the epitome of a fraud, and I cannot wait to have my day in court. If the world is just, he will end up owing me.

We or contracted to do work at Ms ***** home. We were to finish the work from.a previous contractor, who did not finish the job. Ms **** was extremely difficult to work with. I spent more time running around picking up her materials she ordered, which majority of them were wrong for the job. She had me returning tile to the wrong store as they were bought back in march when the job was stared by another contractor. Under horrible circumstances we complete the trim work, powder room. She was happy with the work as she paid me the second installment plus money to do flooring. Ms **** know for a fact we did not install her electrical work nor her gas, that was done previously and when I informed her of the problems with electric and gas and that I would not install any lighting or gas appliances until they were fixed as it was not up to code, she decided not to pay any further for the work.I deducted the work not done from a final bill and she still owed me 2900 for the work that was done. She chose not to pay me. As far as the microwave that sat uninstalled from march and her son has been using it and the mounting brackets were missing and the door was misaligned. This was not a new microwave! The backsplash was done correctly however I quit her job before grouting it. As Ms **** was so difficult to work for. She wanted to video each days work and updated daily on progress, her son home and was aware of all the work we had done. He and his girlfriend even attested to how difficult she was being! I just want to be paid for the time we worked which is the 2900, not the 4000 she owed as the work was not completed due to no fault of my company but due to Ms ***** accusations and her allegations of us not working. I stand by my work and I will not install electrical fixtures on faulty wiring (done by a previous contractor)nor will I install on faculty’s gas lines (from a previous contractor) she fails to mention this in her complaint. We did put a mechanics lien against her due to an outstanding bill of 2900. Ms **** will let her son live in a house that is not up to code and does not want to fix the errors of a previous contractor speaks volumes as to what kind of person she is!. She doesn’t live in the house she lives in Rochester so she is short of slum lord who could care less about the home not being up to code first and foremost!
