My husband and I hired Jeff Blaha, the owner of the company, too do work for us. We signed a contract with him and put over $2,000 down towards the work. Mr. Blaha (after immediately cashing our check) never came to do the work. He refused to respond to any of our attempts to contact him through his cell phone, text messaging or instant messenger. He just took our money and ran. He stole our money. We have sent him a certified letter with return receipt (with which I received the return receipt back with his signature on it) demanding our money back and he has not responded whatsoever.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.  I have submitted proof via pictures that show the work we already had done before we even hired Jeff Blaha to come finish. He is lying very horribly! We have the messages to prove it! We had to hire another contractor to come do the work. A lawsuit has been filed as well as a police report against him! He has done this to another customer as well. She is also going after resolution via court. My pictures are dated to show the work we already had done was before his signed contract with him! The photos show that we had the entire upper roof done before we ever met with Jeff Blaha. Then there are pictures of our new crew doing the entire lower half (decking, except what my husband and son in law did before we met Jeff, which the dates pictures show) and the new crew completed the entire roof. Jeff did come one day (about 3 days after he said he would, and after us texting, calling and messaging him asking if he was coming or not) but only stayed for a couple hours. The one picture showed where my new crew had to fix where the skylight holes were cut by Jeff Blaha. We had them framed in from the inside (my husband did that) and yet Jeff still managed to cut the holes in the wrong spot. He did that screw up and just left and never came back. The pictures are all dated with the work our new crew did and in some of the pictures you can even see our new crew. They worked from December through January (depending on weather). That new crew still works with us today on this current house and our rental properties now. Regards, ***** ** *******  See attached pictures (13).

so further looking at pictures of roof. how can you determin any of the work that you claim another crew did and not me. the pictures of no plywood on roof was just before i came in and then you have pictures on it after skylights were framed and plywood on with ice and water. so where is your proof on to (who did that). thr fact that anyone is going to see them lictures of evidance that i didnt do any work amaze me. oh and in the pictures as seen you can clearly see my little giant ladder you stole from me. i did plywood on roof and ice and water in freezing temperatures for you to do nothing but complain and want to baby sit. i bid the job for you to let me do the work and leave me alone. and would have been gine to hit the deadline date. also the skylights i put 100% exactly where your husband told me to put them. so you moving it is on you .as far as the other compalint its a family matter to a self centered family member that wanted something for nothing. you both can run me down and do whatever pleases you. this here is non sense. i did the appropriate amount of work needed for what deposite you gave me .take me to court cause the judge will see i did the work and im still charging for you and the court fees it costs to file them youll pay and get nowhere. i see homeowners doing this far to much and its sickening. i dont know how you sleep at night.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.  BBB spoke to the customer and the business was relayed: I am going to provide the text messages between us and Jeff. After requesting another day off for not feeling well, he then never communicated with us again. He was only here for a couple of hours on 1 day and put a couple pieces of plywood up and cut the holes for the skylight in the wrong place before leaving and not returning.  Regards,  ***** ** *******

I hired Jeff Blaha of Jeff's Decorative Concrete on 3/24/22. He gave me a quote of $2,500 ($1,235 for materials and $1,265 for labor). He requested $2,000 down and $500 in two weeks when the job was projected to be finished. He cashed my check the next day then proceeded to ghost me for the next 5 weeks. He finally responded to my texts after I threatened to take my canceled check to the sheriff. He said that he would start the job on 4/25/22 but the night before he was supposed to start, he texted that he misquoted the job and needed 33 "extra" bags of leveler. I agreed to charge the leveler to my ****'s credit card which cost an additional $750 plus interest just to get the job going. I told him that I would still pay him the $500 when the job was finished. He worked 3 days then started ghosting me again. When he finally responded, he wanted more money for materials so I decided to check my surveillance. I discovered that he had only used the 33 bags that I had charged to my ****'s credit card and did not provide any additional materials. He is now asking for more money for materials and has left the concrete pad in worse shape than it was when he started. I asked him to show me receipts for his purchases but he refused saying that he is not obligated to show me anything. I am requesting that he refund $1,265 which is the amount that I paid him for materials. I do not feel that I owe him the remaining $500 as he did not finish the job and I will now have to pay someone else to complete the project.
