On January 1st, 2024 I attempted to purchase $1457.99 worth of items, including three ***************** sterling silver brackets, and several other designer items from the glass case in the front of the store. After all items was rang up and I attempted to pay for the items, the ****** told me that only $457.99 went through on my card. The store manager came over and said she needed to get the line moving. She said that $457.99 had already been paid, and that is the amount of merchandise I can take with me. The ************* 3 bracelets, other jewelry pieces and items in the showcase were the most valuable, the jewelry alone was over $600, and the other items from the case totaled over $200, they also removed items from the bags and boxes that had already been bagged, in order to make sure that the item that I was taking was exactly $457.99 worth of merchandise. The manager and several other employees were calculating and subtracting everything, and finally, they told me that I could leave with the $457.99 worth of items (they removed all of the jewelry and other items from the glass showcase that was included in the original total of $1457.99. The Items were never given to me) the transaction was complete. The next day, I noticed on my bank Account, that $980.00 was charged from Island Thrift Store, (even though I didn't receive the items that were removed) I contacted the bank, and was told that someone from the store charged my card, the bank told me that my card was charged around 6 am on 1/2/24. I then filed a fraudulent dispute. I never made a $980 purchase, I was at work from midnight until 4:30 pm, I did not authorize the transaction, I did not give them my credit card, I did not sign anything, and I didn't receive any additional merchandise. I never spoke to anyone from that store. When my bank called to investigate, the Manager from Island Thrift store said that I had called and authorized the $980 transaction, which was not the truth.
