    A BOLT energy representative talked us into having our gas delivery handled by their organization instead of directly from NIPSCO. The representative promised we'd be happy with the change saying our costs would be consistently lower. He also told us that if we were unhappy a simple phone call would needed to switch back to NIPSCO as the gas ***************. Since signing on to their service our bill first doubled for the first year and then it tripled. We've been in this home for 3 years now. Our original budgeted bill through NIPSCO alone was $79 per month, after BOLT the second year is jumped to $151 per month, in January of 2023 we quickly noticed our new budget rate had jumped to $368 per month. I have had to make four increasingly angry phone calls to get them to understand that I no longer wanted their service. They try to bait you with idiotic reward systems which do nothing to reduce the ridiculous amounts they are collecting for their so-called service. During my last phone call they finally relented and promised to end the agreement with us. I have no confidence that this will happen, since I just checked my most recent statement and they are still listed as the gas delivery company. Oh, they actually tried to blame the increase on the winter, and we have actually been using less gas than last year.

    I had a representative from Bolt Energy come to my door and tell me he needed to see info from my Nipsco bill to lower my monthly energy bills. He said this was all normal and just a required check to verify I was the account holder. I agreed without thinking too much of it initially, giving him the requested info (account number, meter number, plus name, phone number, email) and signing the things he asked me to sign. After he left I realized it was a little odd, since it was a Saturday afternoon and I hadn't had any notification this would be happening, so I did some research and realized it is likely a scam. I think I have caught this before any bills have been charged, but would like to cancel this, and need some help with best way to proceed.

    Around December 22, 2022, ************************* from Bolt Energy said that they partnered with NIPSCO and by signing up with them, I would be quoted for $.19 a therm. and my bill would be cheaper. I wasnt given any paperwork regarding an account with them after signing up. I called their customer service shortly after and was told that I would receive a welcome package via mail or email which to this day I have never received. Friday January 27, 2023, my NIPSCO bill was $307.35. Since living in my apartment my bill has never exceeded $179.33. ****** explained that these additional charges were from Bolt Energy. I spoke to three Bolt representatives, *****, ****, and ****. Friday January 27, 2023, I spoke to *****. I requested an explanation of the charges, and I also informed her of what was told to me by ******. She stated that she could not help regarding the charges and began to explain their rewards program. I declined any further services and asked to cancel my account with them. Monday January 30, 2023, I spoke to **** and asked for a supervisor. I asked about the account cancellation, and he told me that the request was submitted, but it will take a billing cycle to be in effect which I was not told by *****. **** stated that he didn't know if **** would appear on February's statement. I requested to speak to a supervisor again, but **** continued to ask about my billing issue. I told **** that ***** already explained the charges, and that I was lied to about a cheaper bill. He continued to reiterate what was stated by ***** and I requested a supervisor yet again. I was transferred to Mark, supervisor, and expressed my issues. **** said that they do not guarantee a cheaper bill and that the charges to my account were legit. This issue has still not been resolved and I was charged $198.52 in January and $115.74 in February by Bolt Energy. The statements from January and February have the charges from Bolt Energy, and the bill from December before Bolt Energy.

    On Jan 6, 2023 I was visited by a BOLT Energy Sales person (uniformed and badged) regarding locking into current cost/lowering my gas supply cost. He further stated that **** was a part of ****************** for NIPSCO. I cautiously entered into an agreement with Bolt Energy with the assumption of reducing the cost my gas supply. The sales person obtain varies information from my NIPSCO bill and set-up the transfer. I was sent to a couple of text messages to verify the agreement. I never received anything further explaining the services or the agreement. I was told I would not see any increase in my NIPSCO; only the change in providers. On my Feb statement, I noticed a LARGE increase in a line item "Interstate ****************** Charge" from $10 to $288. This was NEVER discussed in the initiate meeting with the sales person. In fact, he stated there would no increase. I called the number for **************** only to be told that I would have to call NIPSCO. I called NIPSCO only to be told I need to talk to someone at BOLT Energy.

    Oct 21 someone came to my door pretending to be from nips I telling me that my apartment Meter was read that we was being over charged in he was sent because we got to make the the change in that nipsco will soon be giving us a refund it will be credited to my bill I told him dont do it he said he was going to have to record me saying yes he explained everything to me that Im denying at my own risk and I did and I did a month later I get a bill saying bolt energy has been added to my bill and that they are charging me a $250 dolllar transit fee then this month it say is a $310 delivery fee like huh Im on low income I cannot afford that they refusing to stop the service my bill went from being $80 to ************* a studio apartment there isnt that many lights

    I had a salesperson come to my house and say she was with bolt energy if I would like to get on it to save money and my bill with be remain the same. I told her I was not interested in it and now I have been getting charged from bolt and my gas bill is so much I cant afford it. I had my daughter in law call them and she has left two voicemails and I dont know what to do.

    When the Bolt Energy sales representative came to my place of residence, they promised to reduce my energy billing. Fast forward 4 months, now my bills have tripled. When I called their **** phone number listed on their website, no one answers during their listed hours of operation. I have left messages and have sent emails and have not heard back from them.

    Started back in July/August 2022 timeframe. Representative for Bolt Energy was walking the neighborhood (*********************** ************) explaining he could save .19cents per therm on my NIPSCO gas bill. He explained everything, pointed to my bill saying the only thing that would change would be the therm price and it was locked in at .19 cents cheaper that NIPSCO currently. AGAIN, NOTHING else would change. Said the change may not show up on next bill, but possibly the one after based on billing cycles. Change did not show up until my November 10, 2022 bill cycle bill. Did not notice much difference. This month, my 3rd bill now since the change it shows my monthly bill has gone from the budget plan of $85.00 per month to now $337/month, four times the rate it was. I called NIPSCO and reached a very helpful representative named *****, extension ****. She gave me what my bill would have been vs what it was for Bolt Energy for the last 3 months. Rates would be as follows, November Bolt = ***** NIPSCO = *****. December Bolt = ****** NIPSCO = ******. January 2023 Bolt ****** NIPSCO = 208.98.She gave me the number for BOLT Energy also. I wanted to commend her for helping and asked her supervisor to call me. ************************* at ************ called me maybe an hour later. I told her about my results with Bolt energy phone call and she is going to get back to me about what they can do to help further.Call to *********************** (rep above) resulted with him saying he no longer represents them because they misrepresented everything to him. They still owe him money as well. He gave me the same number as did ***** for *****Called them, no help, asked for supervisor to call me, **** at *************) called me with ZERO help again, just reading a script. Said when I asked his boss is the owner and I can get that number from the website, then said, no ******* would not give it to me at all. TOLD HIM CANCEL IMMEDIATELY and REFUND charges, said can cancel when NIPSCO can, but cannot help with refund.

    At this time, I have not been contacted by Bolt Energy LLC regarding complaint ID ********.  Nothing has been resolved.  *********** billed over $500 dollars extra for "transport" charges which was never disclosed by the sales person or the company.  Nipsco would have billed roughly under $20 for transport during this period.  The sales person has quit because of this companies shady practices.  Nipsco has been helpful in this, but I have not heard back from them in a while regarding this.  My budget plan billing when from $85/month, to $337/month.

    I enrolled with Bolt Energy LLC on March 2022, they knocked on my door and said that I will save money on my gas bill, also they told that they were part of NIPSCO. Everything was good until they start to increase my gas bill, even though I have been using my furnace at the same temperature since last year, also I was not at my home for 2 weeks and my bill increased more. I have paid to them $1,149.64 since March 2022 to January 2023 in total. This month of January 2023 my bill was of $324.35 which $56.50 are NIPSCO charges and $267.85 are from BOLT Energy, which I think they are overcharging. I already called them and cancel my service, they offer first a gift card of $25, then a $200 gift card and a $50 gift card every month, I decline and cancel anyway. Also It seems very odd that they are offering gift cards of these amounts, they also tried to convince me to stay with them which I refuse and still cancel. They have a number of confirmation and my account number is the NIPSCO account number.

    Had this salesman for bolt come to my door and tell me about how bolt was partnered with ****** and how with them it would keep my monthly cost the same when things went up in price. Fast forward 2 months and I look at my bill and from bolt I was charged $199.36 in November and just received my December bill and it is $292.62, more than $200,00 more than my normal bill. The whole company is a scam, hope anyone considering this hope you read this before signing up with Bolt Energy. Very hard ****** and shame on the guy that goes door to door for this SCAM
