I purchased a 2010 *** ****** from the dealership on the first week of July 2022 with the promise from them that they would fix outstanding issued noted at the time of purchase mainly; Power steering was stiff to turn, an air conditioning hose to the rear of the truck needed replacing, the driver's power window was sticking, broken front spring needed replacement. After months of scheduling, they only fixed the power window and refused to fix anything else making the vehicle dangerous to drive and impossible to get a yearly inspection renewal. On many occasion made appointments with the dealership to have the repairs done as promised only to have the appointment cancelled once I arrived there. I asked my Father (**** ******) to give them a call only to be ignored by the person in charge, Jason at ###-###-####, ***********, many messages were left with total disregard.. The truck has cost me thousands in repairs since the original purchase only to be found totally unreliable and dangerous to drive. I seek my original deposit of $2,500.00 plus loss of income due to cancelled appointments, damages/repairs performed in the amount of $1500.00 for a total of $4,000.Business Response

Dannemora Ford on 8/16/2022 brought in ****** ****** 2010 ****** Vin#***************** with a couple customer concerns. This vehicle has a 30 day 1000 mile motor vehicle limited powertrain warranty . The tech verified the window doesn't operate as designed, we determined the window switch to be faulty tech replaced with new switch. Once the switch was replaced the window operated as designed. Customer complained the brakes were making noise tech verified the concern. Dannemora Ford replaced the front brake pads and also replaced rear rotors and brake pads. The customer complained of steering. concerns. Tech verified the rack and pinion had a leak causing the steering concern. We replaced with a new rack and pinion. The above repairs totaled $2,076.81 of which the customer was never billed. It is our position that we, in good faith took care of their under warranty concerns. I definitely would want to apologize for any gaps in communication ..we are severely short staffed. I try to make sure I contact everyone in a timely fashion and was unaware of any continuing concerns until the receipt of this BBB notification.Initial Complaint

I purchased a 2014 ***** ****** on December 14, 2022. It is May 1, 2023 and I have yet to recieve the title and registration that was paid for. After 40+ calls and getting vague answers including there was a problem with the title. I have yet to recieve even an update. The temp registration ran out in January. Need this to be resolved.Business Response
Date: 05/05/2023
We have been in contact with the customer. There was a clerical error on the title with a transfer. The previous owner had let this slip. The duplicate title has been applied for. We certainly apologize for the delay. This issue should be rectified very quickly.Initial Complaint

Issue time frame is 1/30/23 through 4/6/23. Vehicle is owned by me, primarily used by daughter (***** *****), who lives in Cadyville, less than 1 mile away from Dannemora Ford. Funds for repairs were provided by me. 1/30 - Vehicle was brought to Dannemora Ford to correct issue with Shifter not reading Park, and would not start. Fixed issue and also performed resealing of valve covers and repair of intake manifold. 2/8 - Returned due to vehicle overheating. Replaced water pump. After repair, returned home. Next day smelled gasoline odor. 1st available appt. was 2/28. 2/28 - Returned to dealer who replaced fuel injector O rings. Took vehicle home on 3/6. Next day, found check engine light showing. 1st available appt. 3/17. Returned to dealer, replaced spark plugs, coils, wires, and performed complete exhaust system replacement (requested). 3/24 - took vehicle home, found that the engine was running very rough. 3/27 - took vehicle to another mechanic, who found that the previous repairs were not done properly, and caused additional issue/damage, as well as improper device(s) installed as part of the "repair," including a broken Bic Pen barrel being used as a vacuum port. All receipts attached, including from second repair shop and a picture of issues.Business Response

We certainly appreciate the opportunity to work with Mr ****** *****. What we can assure is that we did not put anything into the vacuum system other than CORRECT parts that needed to do the many various repairs. The vehicle had close to 165000 miles and definitely needed major maintenance performed. We did not notice this "part" that was stuck in the fuel system? The customer had many different concerns over a short period of time. We feel that we properly addressed his concerns. Other than this complaint, we have no knowledge of this vehicle running rough. We certainly can take a look to see if we need to address the previous repair work performed. .Customer Answer

Better Business Bureau: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below. The work that Dannemora Ford says they did may be accurate, however, every time the vehicle was retrieved, something would go wrong. Based on the evaluation done by the other repair shop, the documentation including photos were provided in the original complaint, the work that was done was done incorrectly, and could only be intentional. Our contention is that improper actions were taken to force the need to purchase a new vehicle, but also resulted in dangerous conditions. I have had vehicles last for 200+ thousand miles and, having issues resolved by service departments which did not cause repeated visits and dangerous situations, never lost confidence in the vehicle nor the service providers. Regards, ****** *****Initial Complaint

I purchased a vehicle on Dec. 20th, 2018 from a salesman named Tom at Dannemora Ford. Currently this vehicle has been driven a total 10,600 miles since the date of purchase mostly due to issues causing it to be unsafe to drive. Most recently I have had to take it to a different mechanic to have all the rotors and brakes replaced as they were in very bad shape as well as a ruptured brake line. I had purchased a $2,000 extended warranty on this vehicle and it was never honored as I was pushed off multiple times until the warranty had expired. A gentleman named George was originally working with me to replace the non-functioning air conditioning that was to be covered under warranty but I was told he no longer works there and they cannot help me. There have been numerous other issues involving the vehicle and currently the rear subframe is rotted out and the vehicle is now unable to be driven. I have spoke with Tom about issues many times since the day I purchased this vehicle but I've always been told all he can do is pass it along up the ladder and somebody will call me back to which I never got a call back. But I did receive a bill in the mail for work that they had done to the vehicle when I had concerns during the test drive about the brakes. I was billed for the repairs they made after I was told it would be covered. A few months ago I received the same bill I was told not to worry about so I called and was told to throw away the bill & that they don't know why it was sent to me. I feel as though the warranty I purchased was useless as they did not honor any of the concerns or issues that should have been covered by that warranty. I was told to call the salesman with my concerns to which the salesman said that he would pass it up and I would get a call back and this went on for the entire time I have owned this vehicle. I currently only owe a little over $700 on the loan but am no longer able to drive this vehicle in its current state.Business Response

This vehicle was sold on 12/20/2018 The vehicle came back to our shop on 9/03/2019, for a brake concern. with 5100 miles put on the car. The customer paid for this repair as brakes were not a covered warranty item. The next visit was on 1/20/2020 with another 2000 miles put on. This time the alternator was replaced under their extended warranty. No other visits to our dealership after that. We could possibly be able to trade them out of this into a much newer vehicle if they are interested.....
