Signed up with green light energy for 7.9 cents a kilowatt hour and being charged for 12.5 cents. Called and they said there was a problem on my account and they would call back by 4pm and they never did. Seems like a scam

Feb 2023, company switched my service from NYSEG at a guaranteed price of .7 (7 seven cents) they then charged me **** cents (twenty six and a half cents)Per kilowatt without notice. They are a scam company, how does *** allow them to operate? They have already lost class action suits.

They have not lowered the rate of .27 per kilowatt which is a complete scam after they offered .9 per kilo. How does *** let them operate? Check the lawsuits against them.

************, We have contacted NYSEG about the reading issue and our **************** Manager is working to fully resolve the matter to your satisfaction. We appreciate your patience while we work with all parties to retroactively credit the account that was cancelled in February. Please note our current price is not 27 Cents and this matter is not only due to the market spike every supplier and utility saw last year, but an isolated incident of the utility company sending 6 months worth of electricity usages to be billed on one bill after you cancelled. This is not a fault of Greenlight Energy but we have every intention of resolving your issue. The manager will be in contact with you by phone before the end of the week. Thank you for your understanding.

Back in February of this year 2022 green light energy is stating that I had signed up for their services. I know for a fact that neither my wife or I had signed up for any type of service they offer. Now they're saying we owe $503 for services we never agreed upon or opted in for. Sure seems like a scam company to me.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# ********, and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

They are still claiming I had signed up for this service from them, which I have not provided any information to them on my part for any of their services. They reimburse me $155 of the almost $600 theyre saying that I owed from services that I signed up for which I did not sign up for. I dont feel I should remove the complaint I feel I was not adequately reimbursed for the situation on hand. I am still trying to catch up with my current Penelec bill due to this outstanding balance with them. That is all I have to say if they make things right, I will remove the complaint. Thank you.

      Good Afternoon,

Writing in regards to (reference number ********) a response from you guys, the complaint that I had filed against greenlight energy has not been resolved. Yes, they issued a refund of $155 towards the total amount of over 500 and some dollars of services that they claim, I signed up for which I clearly did not sign up for no I like to call supplier supplies as I currently have one in place. They are in the process of working out a resolved deal between the two parties with the accounting department. I have not heard back since Friday , so as of right now, yes, the complaint has not been resolved to my liking. I feel it is not fair for what they did, and for what they are charging me for services. I clearly did not sign up for I never filled out no paperwork with them or for them for them to charge me for services and now the services they claim I received is being reflected on my current electrical suppliers monthly bill , this is why I am currently still pushing The fact that this complaint with them is not resolved yet. Thank you I wanted to email and explain the situation.

Sorry to hear you are not satisfied. Records show you spoke with our customer service manager on March 14th via email, who went above and beyond to issue a credit and resolve the matter to your satisfaction. Enrollment is shown to have been initiated via our website, inputting the utility account number and agreeing to service. Contract terms were delivered to the same email listed in the complaint. Greenlight Energy is the supplier of electricity, but your utility company continues to bill you and delivery that supply. The utility bill is made up of both supply charges and utility delivery charges, regardless of whether you have Greenlight Energy or any Third-Party supplier, but when the bill goes unpaid all those combined charges add up. Greenlight Energy is not responsible for all the charges shown on your bill. However, a mutually agreed credit has been issued and the account has been confirmed cancelled. If there is anything else we can do for you, please do not hesitate to contact us at *************. Thank you.

A representative from Green Light Energy knocked on my 93 year old grandfather's door and asked to see his BGE **** and asked tried to convince him to sign a contract stating nothing would change. He stated he had to ask his family first, as we help him with his affairs. HE SIGNED NOTHING; however he did show them his BGE ****, resulting in them taking his account number and enrolling him without his confirmation. We received his bill and there is an extra charge of ***** for Greenlight Energy. At no point did my grandfather sign any contracts or give his permission to enroll him. Scamming the elderly seems to be their business model based on any research you do on this company. These charges need to be reversed and he needs to be taken out of this program immediately

Greenlight Energy has been in contact with the customer and are working to resolve the matter. Regardless, we are investigating the matter further and are confident it will be resolved with the customer directly. We apprciate your patience in the meantime. Thank you.

I have been a GreenLight Energy customer through PSEG for over a decade, my PoD ID is *********************** you take a look at my account, you can see, I have been a loyal customer, paid over PSEG price for over a decade. I recently decided to switch back to PSEG, but/and received a bill with a charge from GreenLight Energy for $431.78 extra, on top of $154 current bill, labeled as Adjustment. I believe it is a mistake or something worse. I made multiple attempts to contact GreenLight Energy, but met with no willingness to resolve the problem. I tried to contact their customer service through the phone. A representative, by first name *******, did not provide help or information. The request of escalating the problem to upper management also went no where. This filing with BBB is an attempt to resolve issues. My current request is to get this charge removed or explained, with detailed documents. But I do want to reserve all my rights if unsuccessful. Please communicate and resolve the issues.Thanks.*********************

On June 29, 2022, a salesman from Greenlight Energy came to my door and asked to see my Consumers Energy gas **** statement and phone number. The salesman's name was *************************, and he was wearing a Greenlight Energy photo ID. He claimed that Greenlight Energy was a gas supplier that could lower our gas ****. However, his approach seemed suspicious, so I called Consumers Energy to confirm, and was put on hold. While I was waiting to speak to someone from Consumers, I received a text that asked for my signature to sign a contract with Greenlight. At that point, I did not sign, and told the salesman I was not interested and to leave. But when I finally talked to someone from Consumers, they said that there was a number on my **** statement (the *** number) that enabled Greenlight to enroll me as a customer. Again, I never gave ******************** permission to do this and do not want their services. Consumers told me that they would contact me if any changes were made to my service, but I want to confirm that I will be unenrolled and not be charged by Greenlight. I am hoping that you can help with this.
