We have contact *************************** at email:*********************************** at the THE ************* location in person numerous times with my chronic physical disability which why needed to cancel me and my daughter membership ( daughter back & leg spasm issue) a month after signing up as we was told from our physical therapy that it would cause more injury to what we are already experiencing. The manager *************************** stated to me that he will take care of canceling out both our membership with no penalty to us and then a month later ********* daughter recieve a letter stated we owe gym fees and the months after as well then I came in again and spoken to him, which is very much strenuous to my body and he apologize again stated he will take care of it. As our account was put on freeze he stated and we should've have recieve any ******* but it will be resolved.. Then more ******* came with a member ******** daughter account went into collection. I THEN MADE ANOTHER CALL and **** got into and debate n became agruementive as forgetful and very unprofessional about what he promise on me and my daughter membership and etc. I then was told that we need to send in a document from the doctor which he never ask or discuss in neither our prior conversations. Now and then eventually he ignored my calls and visit to resolve this on going charges on the account and what he need to do to resolve the issue on hand. As money was taken from our account and my daughter account went into collection thereafter. I have submitted two doctor ******* with official stamp . This run around he and his team been giving us is very unprofessional. I'm highly disappointed in how the gym work their membership ****************** is the obvious at this point that this **** is running this gym to profit, this gyms squeeze long commitments and upfront fees from members. Difficult cancellation keeps the revenue flowing from non-active members.

      To whom it may concern.

This dispute is invalid as the party (both mother and daughter) were both explained in detail what they needed to do to cancel when becoming members. Cancelled as per doctors orders is something we take very seriously and attend to swiftly when the proper procedure is executed. ****** was explained in detail the procedure by *************************** and told exactly she needed to do in order to cancel the agreement. To help avoid a recurring charge ************** both accounts and told ****** to provide the needed medical documentation that was needed. To be clear it was not done swifly, it took months and not until the member was told again what was needed to be done was a medical note provided by ******. Upon providing the documentation the membership was cancelled swiftly with no hesitation with the needed 30 days notice as per our agreement. At the present time ******'s membership has been cancelled since May of 2024. The issue furthermore came when ****** wanted to cancel her daughters membership which had exceeded the freeze time and went delinquent. Not until June 19th was medical documentation for Opprecia received via email. Which to be clear the same medical note can not be used for two separate members...There is no finances that would be owed to either of these members as one membership was already cancelled and the other one is delinquent and no payments have been executed. We will gladly contact our delinquent department and officially cancel Opprecias membership as well now that medical documentation was received on June 19th of 2024. As of today both memberships have now been officially cancelled and there is no balance owed on either membership to Push Fitness Club Staten Island.

I followed the cancellation instructions, printed and mailed in my cancellation request. They do not allow to cancel in person, keep charging my credit card . It appears to be a scam to keep charging, made cancellation process impossible.I want a cancellation, this is insane.

      Business Response

We do not have any cancellation request on file from Member *****************************. Form he had filled out is not our company. As attached, our Gym is called Push Fitness Club and not Push Fitness Center. We are located in ************* ********. He came into the club last 3/14/2024 and never requested to cancel. There is also no communication between him and our billing company as attached with the notes. Member needed to either come into the club to sign cancel form or mail a letter via certified mail as stated in the agreement. We would never say cancels can not be done at the club. He must have called the location where he printed that form from.

So I called this company and advised as to why the monthly bill increased without ** being informed. And I was so frustrated with their answer, because if you do plan to increase it, they should have at least advises their member right? This is illegal, even thought its a couple of cents.

I've requested to cancel my gym membership. I've had a membership since September 2021 and have since moved away from the area and no longer need a membership. I sent an email requesting a cancellation of my membership. They advised I need to go into facilities for a signature (unable to do as I have moved) or send a certified letter. Given my schedule, this will be difficult for me. I requested they provide me the document through docusign so I can electronically sign and they said their system is not capable. I requested they email me a PDF of the form to sign and I will print, sign and scan and return to them. They advised they would be unable to do this as it is not their policy. They are intentionally making this process difficult in order continue to charge my membership for additional months. I am not sure why they need my signature in the first place as my membership has been in effect for over 1 year, which was the minimum contract requirement.

I am submitting this BBB Complaint because the gym management team are ignoring my cancellation request. I signed up for a gym membership with Push Fitness and cancelled after one year. Later, I spoke to one of their sales rep and they renewed my membership for another year over the phone without me going to they gym and signing a renewal contract. I noticed the continued billing on my credit card statement and cancelled the gym membership again by sending a certified letter. I called the gym to confirm they received my cancellation letter in December 2022 and they said it was received and completed by Management. I later discovered that this gym has been billing me for additional 5 months after my certified cancellation letter. I did not authorize these charges. I have been unable to attend this gym due to personal circumstances and do not authorize charges.I have attempted to resolve this matter by contacting the gym and the front desk indicated I need to speak to a manager. They indicated I should email *************************** which is a manager at the gym. I emailed **** and got no response. I contacted the gym again and they said he is busy throughout the day due to personal training sessions and I have to catch him at the right time. I contacted the gym again and spoke to another manager and she said she would have to discuss the issue with *************************** and the sales rep the re-opened the account . I still have not received a follow up from management. I contacted the gym today (Friday) and they said I need to call next week because this issue can only be handled by a manager and available between Monday through Thursday from 9:00am to 4:00pm. I told the front desk I had been trying during those hours all week and was going to be filing a complain with BBB as I feel I am getting the runaround on this issue and managers are not following up properly.I demand that they immediately cease any further billing and refund me for the unauthorized charges.

I joined this gym for a yearly membership, I was never informed that after the yearly membership was up it would continue month to month. When I called and spoke to someone they told me the date my year was up and told me not to worry about cancelling (since I moved). They continued to charge me. When I called again and explained that I moved and cannot come in to cancel they ensured me they would cancel it and I also asked to speak with management or have them call me back. Neither happened. Very disappointed. The sales rep who signed me up never had me sign a contract he took all of my information over the phone and obviously misinformed me of the real policies.

After reviewing *******'s account, I can understand her frustrations of wanting to cancel. Unfortunately, there was many factors which caused a simple cancel to escalated to a BBB complaint. ******* is correct in her statement saying she did sign up over the phone. Although she signed up, this doesn't change the fact she came in the following day to physically sign her contract and take a picture for our billing system. When signing on our electronic signature pad, the first signature clearly states that the contract will automictically renewal. We do this for the convenience for the client, so they lock in their rate and don't have to commit for an additional year. After looking into our communication log on her account which is also attached, you can see how many called/texts we have sent to ******* regarding her account. We have no recorded of her even calling the club about any complaints, which confused me the most when I saw this complaint. As far as our cancellation process goes, we require the member to physically come in the club to fill out the form. The reason we do that, it gives us the ability to discuss with the member their account, we type up the last payment date, and then the member sign it. Once the form gets signed, the member receives the email instantly as proof and the billing company gets notified to process the cancellation. ******* didn't come into the club to close out her account, that's why her account is attempting to charge her card.

In conclusion, we have no problem closing out her account free of charge for her so she doesn't have to worry about it moving forward. As far as a refund goes, we wouldn't be able to refund anything since she already did chargebacks on those months. Each chargeback cost us an additional $15 per payment. We strive on doing ethical business, and don't want to be view as if we mislead her.

This is a gym membership that I cancelled over 7 months ago. At the time I had fulfilled my year contract. I am being told that an associate at the gym gave me bad information when they said it was cancelled. The gym wants me to rejoin and commit to another year to take me out of collections. I can no longer afford this and I am on a disability income. Please help me resolve this matter

Trying to cancel my membership. First the customer service is lacking. I opted for a text on the website since I called the customer service line three times with no answer. The text comes through a few hours later and just says "come in". Nothing else. I think its ******** you can't cancel your contract via electronically or via the postal mail. Extremely inconvenient. I should have read all these reviews before joining. I signed up for the month to month to avoid any penalties of cancellation. Now I have to take off of work to go in person to cancel. Wonderful

I am a 23 year old student that joined push fitness looking for a place to better my mental and physical health. When signing up I was told it was a year contract and that before renewing my contract (after the year had passed) they would contact me to ask if I was interested on doing another year. Some family issues, a close family member and provider passed away from COVID, so I had to move upstate, however when I called they told me I had to keep paying until my year expired, which I did. My year commitment passed and I called again to cancel my membership, for which they told me I needed to bring proof of my change of address. With many stuff happening in my life I wasnt able to take the trip and do so. The time passed by, they kept charging me, once day my wallet gets stolen, so I had to change my credit cards. I was relieved knowing they couldnt take more money from me, after they refused to cancel my membership. Now I have a debt collector calling me and push fitness representatives blackmailing me and threatening to ruin my credit that I have worked so hard for many years to build. I am in great distress and I cant believe Im going through something like this. They are trying to charge me $400+ without even sending me an invoice of what I am paying for. This is fraud, I wish I wouldve read the multiple reviews regarding their shady business. I dont have that amount of money. I dont know what to do or who to contact. Please help.
