Ace was doing work in our neighborhood, and solicited door to door for more business. We decided to accept their offer, and were initially pleased with the work. Unfortunately, it became apparent within only a couple of weeks that they had severely missed the mark in one section of the driveway. They laid down les than an inch of asphalt over a 12" drainage pipe on one side. That section has already started cracking. The asphalt before and after the pipe has also settled down, meaning that there is a bulge in the driveway over the pipe. After quite a bit of effort, I succeeded in contacting Asher Cooper, and he said he'd send us a copy of the warrantee. That was a few weeks ago. In the mean time, he has stopped replying to all of my emails and text messages. We've brought in other paving experts to get 2nd opinions, and the consensus is that there WILL be significant issues by Spring. The cracks will get worse with repeated freeze/thaw cycles, especially when spread so thin over a pipe, and the bulge will make these broken sections get caught by snow plows. The original quote was for about $5k;the final project cost us $10k.

On May 17 2022 we wrote a check for 6k to Ashton C***** Ace Paving to have our home driveway resurfaced. He told us not to walk or drive on it for about a week. We decided, since it felt so soft and gummy to not walk or drive on it for 3 weeks. The first time we drove on it (3 times longer than instructed by Asher C***** the paving company owner) it started crumbling right away, There are significant cracks on the edges as well. 3 months later and the driveway continues to distengrate. We have ruts in the driveway; the gravel is so loose still 3 months later that you can literally pick at it with your fingernail. We no longer can park a car in the driveway because it's still so soft it will create impressions so we only drive on it into our garage. We have made MANY phonecalls to Ace Paving but they all have gone unanswered. As I read these other reviews on him on this BBB site as well as ****, it appears this is his MO and he does this often. His company is not a registered business in the State of NY. It seems he is a shady scam artist and in the meantime, we will need to find another paving company to fix it since he refuses to return our calls. I have screen shots of all our attempts to call him and you can see, as proof, he doesn't return any of them. I would like help getting my driveway fixed but also, he should be put out of business since he appears to deliver this shoddy service all the time. He has an F rating with the BBB. As a side note, as he performed the job at my home, he walked around smoking a marjuana joint. Yes, it is legal in NY but clearly shows his lack of of professionalism. In the photos and videos I am inclusing, you will see how much crumbling we drag into the garage daily because the driveway was not properly serviced.

Driveway was paved 5/17/21 for $6000. Within 3 weeks washboard depressions were evident even though we didn’t park on the driveway for 2 weeks after the paving. Contractor was called, examined the driveway and agreed to do repairs by 10/31/21. Repairs were not done. Contractor agreed to do repairs in spring of 2022 but does not respond to multiple email requests for a date to do repairs.

On July 13, 2021 Ace Paving and Sealcoating recapped my existing driveway. According to the proposal and receipt, it says: " *recapping the existing driveway.* All entry points will be Saw cut. Low spots will be re filled. 3 to 3 1/2 inches of hot asphalt will be laid and compacted to a smooth finish." Within a few weeks I noticed crumbling of the new surface. I called to inquire about this and had to leave a message which no one responded to. This spring, around the end of March, 2022, I noticed the crumbling is really bad and the resurfacing at the end of the driveway is totally gone for the whole driveway width and about a foot in from the road. I have been trying to contact Ace Paving for 3 days, but no one answers the phone and no one responds to my voicemails. I have left 3 messages, plus the one from last year. Also, the phone number on my paperwork, ************, goes directly to computer generated voicemail FOR THE NUMBER ************, No one identifies the owner of the number, a company name, or any other information except that this number is not available and leave a message. I then contacted the Department of Public works at my local municipality, The Village of *******, to inquire about possible plow damage to the end of the driveway. They sent someone out to inspect and advised me that the driveway was done very poorly with COLD PATCH NOT HOT ASPHALT (as was promised on my proposal) and that the damage was not caused by the plow but rather by the poor paving done as evident by the all over crumbling. The Village routinely replaces driveway aprons damaged by their plows and they were ready to agree to that until they saw the poor condition of the whole driveway. I paid $1750 cash for the work performed. I believe the contact person was Asher C****** although I am not 100% sure of the signature on last name. I do not know if they will attempt to correct this issue since I cannot get anyone to return my calls. I appreciate any help. Thanks
