  Avoid this place. I used this company to tow a vehicle to my home, booked through my insurance company. The agreed upon job was to tow the vehicle from where it was diabled, to my home a half mile away. The owner, Eric agreed to the tow with the above instructions. Once he put the vechicle on his truck, he refused to take the vehicle to where it was supposed to go and instead drove it 15 miles away to his shop. I called him immediately after I found out he was not taking it to the residence and he said he needed to "write up a bill" and get paid by my insurance company before he would release it. I asked why he needed to have the vehicle at his physical location in order to write up a bill. He said he used "specialized" equipment and needed to write it all up. Again, I asked why the car needed to be at his shop to do that. He then screamed at me on the phone stating his kid was home sick with a fever and to leave him alone, then he hung up. The police were contacted that same day and my insurance company contacted him as well. He lied to the police and said my son, who was at the scene of the disabled vehicle when it was put on the truck, said that he could take it to his shop. He also told them the shop was closed for the day and I had to get it during regular business hours. I don't know what in the Wide World of Insurance Fraud is going on with this person and this company, but I do know it was a huge mistake to have this company tow my vehicle. Apparently, this company is pretty well known for being dishonest. From what I understand, they tow to their shop regardless of instructions to then charge exorbitant lot fees and other "specialized" charges. I wouldn't recommend this company to tow a toy tug boat in a bathtub, let alone an actual vehicle they could hold over your head for leverage for no apparent reason.

  ***** ******* is the reason we need to wear a body cameras and have signed statements on our invoices. Unfortunately, she wasn't even at the scene of the accident. Towing and recovering a modified vehicle requires special equipment and special training. We at Bald Hill Automotive take great pride in being the best trained (and certified) operators with the most modern equipment in our area. However, when we have to take extra measures for a damage free recovery, we have to bill insurance companies appropriately. ***** *******'s son, who was the operator of the vehicle and at the scene of the crash, was very kind and polite. He stated that it was fine to tow the vehicle back to our shop, especially since it appeared to be a total loss. He was given a business card with the address identified (out of the 3 locations we have). We understand that crashing a car is very upsetting. Often those frustrations are vented on us. We don't lie and have no reason to do so. We take great pride in being honest and trustworthy and have been since 1982. Unfortunately, in today's society, people like ***** blame us for things that didn't happen. We hope and pray for *****. She obviously has a lot of hostility inside that she is suffering from.

  You definitely should invest in body cameras then so you could review your own unscrupulous behavior that you conveniently forget. I'm not the only person who has had this experience. Your reviews are terrible and your business practices are even worse. My son had no choice, you put the vehicle on your truck and told him where it was going, even though he said that wasn't the assignment. You insisted and he didn't know what to do at that point because you hijacked the job for your own agenda. It is well knows that you charge exorbitant lot fees and mileage which is fraud. If you don't plan to honor the job as it is assigned, pick up at point A and bring to point B (which was a half mile from point A), don't take the job. It's very simple. Good thing your BBB rating isn't based on customer reviews. ****** reviews speak for themselves though.

  My wife and I always attend the Grape Fest in Naples NY and we have been parking in the same spot for 23 yrs on the side of the road. We came back 2 hrs later and our vehicle was illegally towed ! Unfortunately the house that we parked near ( the new owners) about 100 ft in front of us thought they owned the side of the road and they don't ! My attorney told us that Bald Hill Automotive should have called the authorities and got permission to tow a vehicle off the side of the road but they didn't. My wife and I are 64 and this was a nightmare ! We had to take the homeowners to small claims court for $430.00 and we won the case, we live close to a 100 miles away!! This whole thing could have been averted if Bald Hill would have followed the law and called the police and the police would have told them you cannot tow someone off the side of the road without the permission from the owners of the vehicle ! If I could I would give Bald Hill a 0 star rating!

  First off, we did not tow any vehicles during the Grape Festival in Naples, NY in 2023.  Bald Hill Automotive provides private property impounds at the request of a person who is in the care, custody or control of private property.  Law enforcement presence is not necessary for private property impounds per New York State law.  Also, a private property owner should be the best one who knows where their property line is.  We simply provide a service.  That is why a property owner is responsible for accuracy.  And in this old case, a judge agreed that the property owner, not Bald Hill Automotive was responsible for any error.  We apologize that there was a misunderstanding in this case.  We follow all local rules, New York State laws and Federal regulations to the best of our abilities.

  We just had service performed by Bald Hill via ***. These professionals went above and beyond to provide awesome customer service. They provided outstanding support and solved our problem. I wish I could give them a 10 review - 5 just seems too low. Thanks to Bald Hill and I would recomend them to all.

  On November 6th 2022, my car needed to be towed for a very minor reason. It had a flat tire. ***** arranged for my car to get towed, which happened to be through bald hill automotive. This was at around 8/9pm in fairport ny. They had strict instructions to drop off at ***** ********** in Canandaigua ny. However around 10:30pm I pulled up my cars gps location, and it was leaving the city of Canandaigua. I called several times with no answer, trying to get an explanation as to where they were taking my car. Eventually someone answered the phone and said it was after hours and to call in the morning. I explained they were taking my car without my permission somewhere other than the dealership. They told me to call in the morning and refused to tell me where they were taking my car. After many times of calling back after being hung up on, the woman told me the name of their company. And then hung up once more. After calling *****, they were able to call the company, and get information, that baldhill was keeping my car, and wanted money for storage fees and additional towing fees. Bald hill was already paid for the tow job to take my car to *****, which they refused to do. ***** ended up paying them an additional almost $2000.00 just to get my car released and dropped off at the dealership, as baldhill would not release my car. Baldhill caused additional damage to my vehicle as well. They broke the entire right tire off. I am not looking for compensation, as unfortunately gieco had to deal with them and pay them directly. I am looking for them to get shut down, so this does not happen to anyone else! Even when I called the sheriff department, I didn’t even have to tell them the name of the business, as they said they have heard of this company doing things like this often. And knew exactly who I was talking about.

  This tow was requested by ***** as a normal breakdown tow.  However, once on scene our towing and recovery specialist found a crash where a vehicle had hit a light pole foundation suffering servere front end damage.  The original tow to destination was a dealership that didn't even provide body repair at that facility.  Extra services were also needed due to the extent of the crash.  It is a normal procedure to get those additional services approved along with a proper tow-to address for body repair the next day.  ***** had no problem with getting this sorted out during normal business hours.  Unfortunately, a rude customer that is unwilling to listen, calls late at night repeatedly, will get blocked at late night hours.  If Bald Hill Automotive damaged a car, any insurance company would seek compensation.  This complaint is very false in many ways.

  I would like to say that I'm not sure why you feel it necessary to blatantly lie. I was in communication with several representatives from gieco, as well as the gentleman that handled my case in our area. they told me exactly what was happening. The bottom line is bald hill damaged my car. I would love to send you a email of the photo I took of my car before your company touched it. The wheel was clearly only flat, and the bumper was only slightly dented. Still completely in tact and attached to the vehicle, before you mutilated it. This was not a hit and run incident. My husband bumped into the light pole going a few miles an hour as he swerved to avoid a car that was speeding through the parking lot. He wasnt even going more than 10 miles an hour. So for my car to be left mangled after your company handled it, and then refused to release my car after not dropping it off to the car dealership, which does in fact have a body shop! as I have worked with them for over 7 years. Your company is a scam. And you sir are a liar. Have a great day!

  After two months Bald Hill Auto has still not completed all the repairs my insurance company paid for. Communication has ranged from non-existent to poor.

  Do not use there towing service. Horrible customer service. A lady that works there was rude and threatening and really did not care about my situation, nor did the owner of the company. Like the last review, I would give a zero if I could.
