I dropped off my Dunhill trench coat for dry cleaning. I warned the shop my coat has leather on collar so that they can clean it with care. The coat came back to me with leather dye all over. The shop refuses to compensate after knowing the price, saying it’s not their problem.

    Business Response

    Dear Mr. **,
I'm sorry that it has taken some time for me to respond to your complaint. Attached you will find a letter
from one of our managers, Jim, outlining a potential resolution. In his letter, Jim states that he reached
out to you, but had not heard back.
Your statement to the Better Business Bureau ("The shop refuses to compensate after knowing the price,
saying it's not their problem.") is not accurate. As owner of Angelos, my goal is to have a satisfied
    customer.
It appears as though standard protocol (following the manufacturer's recommendation) for cleaning was
applied in this case. As is outlined in Issue No. 295 of the Textile Analysis Bulletin Service (See attached),
despite the efforts of the cleaning staff following the manufacturers care instructions, dye transfer still
    occurred.
As was explained by the manager, before we would consider any alternative remedy, we would like an
opportunity to attempt to take the dye out of the damaged garment.
Please contact me at your earliest convenience to arrange to drop off your coat.
    Thank you.
