I am gravely disappointed in Sunmark Mohegan Lake Branch and their failure to effectively communicate & update me on changes regarding a Credit Card offered to me on a recent Auto Loan I had with them in 2022. Their lack of effective communication resulted in a missed payment on a new account that I wasn't aware I had, being my least used card. Since I've never missed a payment on my credit file, this one instance dropped my score 77 pts!! They said a letter was sent in the mail about a new card, as well as a new payment method, rather than making definite contact with me prior to opening this new account, while closing my old one. Since I didn't receive a March statement via email as I usually do (due to the account being closed!), a payment was neglected to be issued. This wasn't not purposeful, but without a statement being a courteous reminder, I was only aware when my we received an obviously concerning letter of a past due account, and the account number listed did not match our auto loan or my last received CC statement. I contacted Jennifer M****** Member Resolutions, as she left a vague VM on 04/03 and 04/06, that didn't seem urgent at all, trying to understand the letter. She was condescending to say the least, saying " It's not her job to remind me to pay my bills". As a financial institution, I would say it's in their best interest to have credit worthy clients. The March payment was due on the 7th, and no attempt was made to reach me until 04/3 and by time I called her back on the 9th, it was too late. I feel that if they attempted to reach me, more directly with a sense of urgency within a weeks time of the payment being late, I would be aware of the change and handle prior to this being reported to my credit. I even asked Jennifer the name of the new app to set up payments, to which she responded," I do not know, I'm not sure." If the people in charge of the accounts are not sure, this shows why I would not trust them to use again or refer.
