I have never in my life been to an emergency vet hospital that decides to make a research project out of my dog yet give him no treatment for his anemia. Granted, they ordered blood work to determine our dog was severely anemic. Instead of doing or recommending a blood transfusion, they ordered $3000 of diagnostic test , X-rays etc but after 8 hours had still not treated our dog. We lost our cool because we were then told they need a few hours to give our dog blood so we checked into a local hotel to try to rest after being up all night. The vet called us back and said the dog needs a blood transfusion and they don’t have it. We drove the dog to Cornell and made it by 4 pm. Their goal was to try to find the cause of the anemia rather than treat the dog as an emergency. They detected a small spot on his spleen. Come to find out the dog had an abscesses tooth the whole time. All they had to do was open the dogs mouth. He had a severe infection and was going into septic shock. Worse part is they wrote in the history papers sent to Cornell that I didn’t feel confident with their diagnosis.I am seeking legal advice for slander and vet malpractice.
