**** Had my car for 2 months. The problem was not resolved. I had to hire a mechanic to ************* from New Generation Auto. The other mechanic fixed it in 3 days and told me the parts **** said he changed were never changed. He Charged me $700 for parts that we never replaced. In addition **** was aware that the inspection expired but parked on street anyway and the car was impounded by the village. It took him 5 days to realize it and it incurred a $75/day storage charge plus the impounding fees that came close to an additional $900. He refused to pay it even thought the care was in his care. Literally the worse mechanic I ever dealt with. DO NOT BRING YOUR VEHICLE TO HIM.

The car was dropped off on July 23rd with a check engine light and a broken exhaust pipe both of which were required to be cleared to get a new inspection.  I charged $632.64 which was for the exhaust part ($302), transmission fluid ($113), gaskets ($44), and labor ($125).  So the work and parts he claims were not done were in fact completed and installed.  I also changed a transmission temperature sensor for no additional cost as that was also required.

After completing this work, it was required to cycle the engine for ***** miles to get the check engine light to reset, during which they picked the car up to complete the drive cycle. However, the light continued for the transmission temperature sensor as well as other sensors which were again attempted to be corrected free of charge. However, the reset would not trigger.

Regarding the impound, the car was not impounded for a failed inspection.  The owner failed to renew his registration because his inspection was actually over a year overdue.  I was never informed of the registration issue.  Those reminders are sent directly to the customer from the state by email.  In any case, I did notify him of the impound and did in fact pay both tickets on the car as courtesy ($220), but I cannot be responsible for them failing to renew their registration.

Even after the car was released from the impound, I had the car driven back to my shop using a dealer plate to avoid further issues, free of charge.  I continued to attempt to get the check engine light to reset using a new transmission computer which I also paid for and installed for free to continue to try to correct the issue.  However, this did not work  and I advised him that it might be an issue with the transmission itself and to pick up his car.

Overall, all the work that was charged was completed.  Additionally, I paid two tickets and did additional work for free.  The car was never held captive or in need of rescue.

The customer alleges that the car was taken elsewhere and repaired in three days, but I do not know what work was done, how much additional he paid, or how it was able to pass inspection, or if the work was done correctly.
