Sorry for this long review but this was the WORSE Bad experience and service!!! I had paid a $110.00 deposit for a tent, tables and chairs for August 8th 2021 for my father surprise bday party while visiting from my country. *** the owner promise me that the tent would be deliver no later than 10:00am Saturday morning on August 8, 2021. I had clearly told him that the party was going to be at 1PM and he told me not to worry that my delivery was the first one in the morning. He LIED!!It was around 11:15 when I started to panic and called the owner and went straight to voice mail, I text him and kept texting to please call me since delivery was not yet arrived by promise time. 11:25am came around and no response from owner, voicemail was not taking any messages. I started to cry and panic and that day was pouring and pouring like crazy that day. My husband seeing me cry and screaming had to go to ********** to buy a huge tarp to cover with a piece of wood in the middle to hold the tent in place and borrowed. We had to take few tables and chairs which were not not enough for the guest for the 1PM party. We even had to borrow a table from next door neighbor. I was having panic attack since time was nearing for the 1PM party and not enough time to set up. Around ***** a received a call from the driver telling me that he was on his way and would deliver by 1PM. I was crying like crazy and told him that was impossible that I was told by owner that 10:00am I was suppose to get the delivery. I told the driver that I was calling and calling and texting and no response from the owner and that my husband had to go to ********** to buy a tarp that cost $100.00 which we have the receipt. I told the driver that I did not want the delivery since it was late and that I had paid the deposit for the promise time. I was crying. My husband had to take the phone away from me and talk to the driver. I told the driver not to come at all !! What was the sense of him calling me so late and he told me that he was going to call the owner. I told him to please call him. The driver stated he would call me back since he refuse to give me a different contact number where I could reach the owner. The driver called *** and the driver said that *** stated that the tent was going to be delivered by 1PM and nothing else could be done. I was upset and angry and told the driver not to come here at all!!!! The driver stated that the owner made a mistake and over booked that Saturday and the Timing of the delivery was changed unexpected!!! I was crying and cancel the delivery !! How dare the owner change and decide what time was best for him for his mistake when he knew the party started at 1PM!!! How could I have had guest in the pouring rain watch while a irresponsible company set up a tent in drenching rain and how could I have set up the tables and everything at 1PM same time tent and guest were to be there for the party!!!! The owner fought me to get my deposit back and told me husband that he had a saved text that I sent stating that I cancel on him!!! Of course I was going to cancel when it was past 12 !! What was I suppose to do stand and wait like an idiot for his driver to come whenever he felt like it and have guest in pour rain till 1PM for him to drop of the tent, tables and chairs??? I have videos to show how ugly the tart came out and you see a big huge piece of wood with bricks in the middle to hold the tart up as best as possible to keep my guest and my old dad from getting wet. That Saturday was the worse rain ever if anyone recalls how it rain here in Suffolk County. The owner should have apologize and call back and refunded me the money but instead he told my husband to take him to court if needed to. The owner stated he had text from me !! I also have text from him showing that he stated that the tent was going to be delivered to my house at 10am NOT when he felt like it at 1PM!!! I will never never recommend anyone. As a Event planner , I will never recommend anyone of my clients to G&S tent rental in Massapequa. I will never forget that day and the worse part is to see pictures and videos of my dad surprise party with a half hanging tart and ugly piece of wood in the center to make sure it would not fall since it was pouring and windy like crazy. I will be more than happy to submit videos if need to!!!! I do NOT recommend anyone to use this company. I would never want anyone to experience the embarrassing moment that I and my guest had to experience and worse to see my dad see me cry and trying to console me by telling me that "what counts is friends and family to be together and the good heart of me putting the best bday ever in his 70th years of life". I still get teary to know that I could not have the tent on time and have a nice set up. I would have giving a NO star in this review but unfortunately I had to rate it and gave it a one star. I will also be reporting this to consumer affairs. Please do NOT use this company. They promise anything to book a party and then tells you that NO refund if you cancel. I understand if you cancel on your own but when you are promise a certain time and you do not see them coming by almost 11:30 and tells you that they will be there at 1PM, what are you suppose to do? Say OKAY and just relax!!! That is impossible of course anyone would cancel and do what they have to in press time to figure a way out to set up in pouring rain!!! I had to be penalize and loose my $110.00 deposit because of the ***** fault and lack of compassion and ethnic !!!! I also lost $100.00 for a tarp but its okay because I will NEVER EVER call and use this business or recommend anyone !!!! This is not the way to treat your customers and I could have recommended him my clients to him but after this horrible experience , it is a NEVER !!!!!!
